Eric's POV
It was summer break for Oliver. Well he did have maybe two or three summer classes but not everyday. Three weeks after our little problem and things were going well so far. Every Tuesday we would have date night.
"Hello beautiful." I said and Oliver blushed red standing in the doorway.
I just got home from work. I bought him thirteen roses not a dozen. He reached out for them which I handed them to him gently. He smelled them making a face slightly and I chuckled.
"Roses don't smell like anything really, but their beautiful." Oliver said smiling with flushed cheeks.
I leaned in kissing his nose smiling. He could be so adorable. I pulled away to see his face pink making me grin. Six months, well minus two or three if you wouldn't count those terrible months but we're still together and was then. I eventually led him to my car and we got in I drove us off.
"Ryder told me not that many people come here." I told Oliver as I drove.
"You trust Ryder with giving you dating advice?" Oliver asked raising an eyebrow smirking and I rolled my eyes smiling.
"Not exactly." I said chuckling as I parked by a hill that was apart of a park.
Just like Ryder had said there weren't that many people here, including kids. I got out grabbing the basket and blanket as Oliver got out the car too. I took his hand making him blush as I lead him to the hill. It took us a while to climb to the top but I believe it was worth it. I set things up for our picnic date.
"Thank yooou." Oliver leaned over kissing my cheek making me grin.
"Your welcome, how's the view?" I asked taking out a hot dog for myself as he took out a sandwich.
"Mmm." he took a huge bite of his sandwich then looked around then turned to me nodding making me chuckle.
After eating he leaned against my chest. I took a deep breath of the air, taking in the view. It was pretty when you didn't see trash on the ground or smoke in the air. Just a park with a few people here and there. Green grass and some huge grown trees.
"Yo Eric!" I heard a voice say and I glanced around to see Jack climbing up the hill with two boys.
"Jack." I said nodding as Oliver pulled away sitting up. "Who are these two boys?" I asked gesturing to them and Jack grinned ruffling their hair.
"My nephew and son, brought them here to at soccer." Jack said then glanced at Oliver. "Who's that?"
"My boyfriend." I said and Oliver waved awkwardly making me shake my head smiling.
"Boyfriend." Jack said shooing his kids away and I nodded as he looked Oliver up and down making me narrow my eyes. "Isn't he a bit young, for you?"
Oliver's eyes seemed to spark interest as he smirked making my eyebrow raise. "I can talk for myself you know. And maybe I am too young, where's your wife?" Jack immediately shut up before muttering.
"Out." Jack said before walking off and I thumped Oliver on the forehead.
"Ow!" Oliver rubbed his forehead glaring.
"He works with me." I sighed as Oliver mumbled.
"Well he was being rude." he huffed and I kissed his head.
"Well just don't get too smart with my co-workers... I don't know how my boss would feel about our relationship." I said honestly.
"Surprised he doesn't know. Well not like we're friends and he asks me about my love life all the time." I said rolling my eyes. "Does your mother still not know about us?"
"I think she's getting suspicious." he said cuddling me. "When are you gonna tell your boss?"
"When I think I need too." I said playing with his hair. "When are you going to tell your mom?"
"Soon." he said getting up checking his phone. "Speaking of my mother she wants to talk to me. Want to come along?"
"Sure why not? Mrs. Prince always loves to see me." I grinned and he rolled his eyes smiling.
****
"Too young." I heard a voice say as I walked in for some files the boss said I needed to look at.
Get off work then have more work.
"And it's a guy." I heard the voice say making me furrow my eyebrows walking to the sound of the voice.
I saw Jack talking to a couple of guys by the coffee maker. I narrowed my eyes leaning against the wall.
"Sure he's an okay cop but he's dating someone so young." one guy said looking at Jack then the other guy.
"Psh, pedophile." the other guy now said before sipping his coffee making my jaw hitch.
"Eric?" I turned to the sound of the voice to find Chap standing behind me frowning.
"Hey Chap." I said quietly.
"Your tense, did you get the files? The boss wants us both to look at them?" Chap said.
"He's acting like we're lawyers." I said rolling my eyes smirking as Chap led me away to his station.
"Yeah, hey that Dustin guy was put into jail after he got out the hospital. I've been visiting him." he said looking down at his mug of coffee and I rose an eyebrow.
"Is he gonna be in jail for life?" I asked and Chap shrugged.
"Depends if he gets a good lawyer." he said before sipping his coffee.
"Are the files about him?" I asked leaning against the desk.
"No, about someone else I believe. But how's life?"
"Just life doing what it usually does." I said and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"How's your boyfriend?" he asked now smirking.
"We're okay now." I said smiling and he smiled also.
"That's good, don't listen to what people say. I'm sure boss wouldn't care, he is eighteen at least, right?" he asked telling me he heard the whole conversation Jack was having with some guys.
"I'm sure boss would mind." I chuckled opening the file.
I pretended, it wouldn't bother me. I loved Oliver so why did it matter what others think? Well this is my job, I've had it for years. No way he would fire me because the person I'm dating is "Too young".... right?
