Oliver's POV
Thoughts swirled through my head and I couldn't stop thinking about.... what happened. I blushed touching my lips. I've been avoiding him. It will soon be January, tonight at midnight the new year will be here. The last time I saw Eric was later that night after the kiss, when I threw a present at his face then ran quickly back to my car and drove home.
"Your such a wuss." Ryder said rolling his eyes.
"Am not." I huffed.
"You guys kissed, so what?" he said throwing his hands in the air as I blushed more.
"We didn't kiss!" I said throwing a book at him as my heart started pounding fast.
"No throwing books in my library." My step father said walking in as he picked up the book.
"Sorry." I grumbled as Ryder snorted making me shoot him a glare.
"It's quite alright, we're having another gathering for New Years. If you have a few friends you want to invite your mother said that's fine." he said and I rolled my eyes.
"Will you even be here for this gathering?" I asked and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Of course I will." he said as Ryder rolled his eyes.
"You weren't here for Christmas." Ryder said.
"I got busy unexpectedly that day." he sighed.
"Yeah yeah." I said waving my hand as he sighed again while leaving the room.
"Think he's cheating?" Ryder asked and I scoffed.
"I wouldn't be surprised but he better not be." I said.
Eric's POV
"No I didn't tell him not to see you Megan." I grumbled putting on the watch Oliver bought me which was pretty expensive, probably the cost of my bill of this place.
"Sure, my son just doesn't want to see me." Megan snarled.
"Which is one hundred percent correct." I said rolling my eyes.
"Eric, I want to see my son." she hissed.
"Well I can't control that." I said as I combed my hair with her on speaker.
"I had him, carried him for nine months and took care of him longer than you." she said and I sighed.
"Megan what do you want me to do about this" I asked an heard the doorbell then walked to the door opening it as my eyes widen.
"Let me see him." she said hanging up as she stood in front of me.

Bad idea, the once upon a time love of my life is sitting across from me at a table. In my place, wearing actual clothes for once. And she looks like she just got out of a meeting. Surprise anyone would hire her since of all the things on her criminal record.
"What are you looking at?" she snapped glaring and I put my hands up in surrender as she rolled her eyes.
"Do you have a job?" I asked and she scoffed.
"Of course I do." she said as she took a bite of the taco I made.
"Surprise surprise, are you less crazy from the day we had dinner?" I asked rolling my eyes.
"I was drunk." she mumbled after swallowing.
"Are you drunk now?" I asked and she glared.
"No..." she huffed.
"Drunk people lie." I said smirking and she glared.
"This is why we don't get along Eric." she grumbled before roughly biting into the taco.
"Because you lie? Oh, I completely agree." I said as she rolled her eyes chewing.
It was silent between us after a while then she looked at my wrist.
"Who bought you that?" she asked and I smiled looking down at it be for looking back up huffing.
"Wait, what's that supposed to mean? I can't afford it?" I asked and she snorted.
"You can barely afford the car you drive. You being a cop is the only reason you have some of these things." she said and I glared.
"You've always been like this, is it all about money with you?" I asked and she say her taco down.
"Eric, I didn't make it that way. The world has made it that way. Love doesn't always get you places and where you need to be. It doesn't always help people survive." she said and I stared at her hard balling up my fists.
But it was true. All of it was pretty much true.....
"Eric." I heard her say but it was faint.
"Your alone. Stupid." He snorted walking around me as I was in a seat tied up and blindfolded.
"Plea-Please just tell me where mommy and daddy go?" I whimpered.
"Far from you, and they'll never come back. They need money to survive. They had no money to take care of you but their dreams could earn them money. But they couldn't do those dreams with you. Lucky you someone could take care of you over their retirement money that is supposed to be for them." he scoffed as I gripped the door around my arms crying.
"Mommy and daddy be back! They would never leave me-" I was slapped and it stung.
"Eric." a voice said softly and I blinked to find lips on mine.
My eyes widen and the lips left mine as soon as they came. I stared wide eyed at Megan and blinked.
"Sorry." she said quickly getting up and headed to the door. "Thanks for lunch, I have work to head to. Tell Samuel I miss him." she said before shutting the door behind her.

"Did you like it?" Oliver asked as I hummed.
"Yeah, kinda pricey though. You didn't have to waste your money on me." I said.
"Don't be stupid, the least I can do is but you gift from all you done. But anyways, mom wants you to come for our New Years party tonight." he said.
"Hmm, I have a party to go to at Lenny's." I said.
"Oh...." I heard Oliver say softly and it was silent for a moment. "Well that's okay, I'll just tell mom you couldn't make it. Hope you have a nice New Years." he said as I opened my mouth to say something he hung up.
Oliver's POV
"So what he say?" Ryder said walking in with a bag of chips in his hand and some in his mouth.
That would disgust me. But I guess right now I had other feelings. I took a deep breath and it out then smiled.
"He can't come." I said and Ryder raised an eyebrow.
"Okay.... and your happy about that?" he asked and I waved him off.
"Where's mom?" I asked walking past her.
"I don't know man, she's your mom." he laughed as I rolled my eyes and walked downstairs.
"Mother?" I said looking around.
"In the kitchen!" she sung and I headed towards her voice.
"Hey mom, can I go out for New Years?" I asked and she blinked at me with a bowl of chocolate in her hand.
"What do you mean go out? If you have a girlfriend can't she just come here?" she asked and I glared huffing.
"I don't have a girlfriend." I said and she laughed.
"No need to be bitter dear." she said and I rolled my eyes grumbling.
"I'm not bitter." I said.
"Well your bitter about something." she said and I sighed throwing my hands in the air.
"I just want to hang out with some friends, and I'm not bitter!" I yelled.
"What friends?" Her and Ryder asked blinking as he walked in making me glare.
"Is it a yes or no?" I huffed glancing at her.
"I um..." she looked down at the bowl. "Your growing so fast.... you always spend holidays with us.... but I guess." she said and I grinned.
"Thanks mom." I said hugging her which surprised her and myself but she soon hugged back before I pulled away running to the coat closet.
"Where are you really going?" Ryder asked following me which was starting to get aggravating.
I put on my jacket and a scarf then tugged my gloves on. "What do you mean?" I asked and he glared.
"Don't go all Justin Bieber on me." he said making me roll my eyes as I opened the door.
"Byeee." I said closing it before he get a hold of the door.
