Chapter 253
Chapter 253
After the battle at Emerald City, he vanished without a trace. She never expected he'd have the nerve to show up in front of her now.
Facing Olivia at her peak, even Zeus didn't dare act rashly. He obediently bowed his head in greeting.
"Greetings, Your Majesty."
"Rise."
Olivia looked down at the person who had come to see her, saying meaningfully, "You came to see me about something?"
Zeus said reverently, "Your Majesty, it was my fault to go fetch Rowan and her daughter that day. Please don't hold this mistake against me."
Olivia had no interest in hearing these empty words. She waved her hand impatiently, "You know what you wanted with that mother and daughter. I won't beat around the bush with you—go face the wall for a hundred years."
A punishment neither too light nor too heavy.
Zeus accepted it without complaint and left to receive his punishment without bothering Olivia further.
After he left, a crowd of old ministers flooded into the palace, greeting Olivia warmly after her long absence.
Among them, a highly respected noble named Bobby asked sincerely, "Your Majesty, where have you been all this time? We sent people to look for you for ages."
This was an old minister who had served since her father's time, a loyal elder. Olivia smiled and said, "Bobby, I went to find my Five Elemental Blood Ruby. It just took a bit longer than expected."
Bobby nodded in understanding, "Good that you found it. You left the palace without a word—we thought something terrible had happened to you."
Something terrible had indeed happened.
But Olivia always shared good news and kept troubles to herself. She didn't mention her past hardships at all, only asking, "While I was away from the palace, was everything alright?"
"Everything was fine. The Dracula Family got a bit restless, but we worked together to keep them in check," Bobby said with a smile. "With their family's resources, trying to compete with you is just a pipe dream."
Hearing this, Olivia relaxed a bit, "With you watching over the palace for me, I feel at ease."
"What are your plans going forward, Your Majesty?" Bobby asked.
Thinking of Christopher, Olivia's expression softened, a determined light flashing in her eyes, "I plan to hold a grand wedding for my king consort."
She and Christopher had already been through life and death together, never leaving each other's side. In this lifetime, he was the one for her.
Everyone exchanged glances at her words.
Olivia had just returned and already wanted to name a king consort. They wondered who was lucky enough to catch Her Majesty's eye.
Everyone glanced at Bobby, signaling him to ask. Bobby took the cue, "Who is your king consort?"
"It's Christopher."
Her words immediately sparked discussion among those in the hall.
"Christopher—the human who made a blood servant contract with you?"
"Absolutely not! This concerns your bloodline. How can such a lowly person become your king consort?"
"Christopher is just a lowly blood servant, and a human at that. His bloodline is impure. Your Majesty, please reconsider!"
Objections rose one after another from below. Before speaking, Olivia had already expected their opposition. She turned her gaze to Bobby, who had remained silent.
Meeting her eyes, Bobby coughed, and everyone instantly quieted down to hear him speak.
After thinking for a moment, he said, "Christopher's status indeed doesn't qualify him to be your king consort, but as long as you like him, there's no problem with naming several king consorts."
His words both agreed to Christopher becoming her king consort and didn't fully agree—he also wanted her to take several more.
For a moment, Olivia didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
With just Christopher alone, she already felt her energy was barely enough to cope. If several more were added, her harem would really get lively.
"What do you think, Your Majesty?"
"We think Bobby makes sense, Your Majesty. You also need to continue your ancient bloodline, and Christopher alone is far from enough!"
Before Olivia could speak, the servants quickly echoed Bobby's words, all agreeing it made sense.
Olivia smiled and interrupted their discussion, only saying, "I will break the contract with Christopher. Then he will no longer be my blood servant, only my king consort."
As for other matters, she gave no response.
But the discussion in the hall still reached Christopher's ears in full force.
That night, while Olivia was returning to the palace, he arrived first and caught her.
Since returning to the palace, Olivia had been too busy, either inspecting things or working to reorganize the inner palace. Christopher barely saw her a few times a day.
Unexpectedly, today he heard news that Olivia was selecting king consorts. His heart was uneasy, and not wanting to sit and wait, he wanted an answer.
Not having seen Christopher for days, Olivia's eyes lit up. She pulled him by the hand toward the dining table, "I've been busy these past few days and haven't had time for you. You're not mad at me, are you?"
"I would never be angry with Your Majesty."
Christopher pressed his lips tightly together, looking at her with a resentful glance before getting straight to the point, "Your Majesty, I heard you want to break the blood servant contract with me?"
Hearing this, Olivia raised her eyebrows slightly, her gaze fixed on him as she drawled, "Yes, I do want to break it. Are you unwilling?"
"I'm unwilling."
Christopher answered without hesitation, "For this lifetime, I will be Your Majesty's blood servant. That will never change."
The emotion in his eyes was fully captured by Olivia. She laughed happily and said directly, "But I don't want you to be my blood servant. I want you to be my king consort."
This straightforward declaration of affection made Christopher's ears turn red. He looked at Olivia deeply and said firmly, "Then I'll still be Your Majesty's blood servant. Being a king consort and being a blood servant don't conflict."
His loyalty to her would never change either.
"Christopher, if you're my blood servant, you can't be my king consort," Olivia suddenly felt playful and said with a smile, "I'm sure you've heard about people in the hall opposing you becoming my king consort. Your bloodline isn't pure, and they're already looking for new king consorts for me."
At this point, Olivia paused, watching with satisfaction as Christopher's pupils contracted and his hands at his sides suddenly clenched, silently showing his concern and tension.
She curved her lips and asked word by word, "Even so, do you still want to be my blood servant?"
As her words fell, the room suddenly grew quiet.
Christopher's deep, lingering gaze rested on her. After a long while, he solemnly nodded, "I want to be Your Majesty's blood servant. I believe Your Majesty won't have a new king consort either."
Even though he'd heard that many people in the hall had urged Olivia to name a new king consort, she had never given an answer. He believed that in her heart, there would only be him.
Thinking this, Christopher's heart melted. He stepped forward twice, "Olivia, stop teasing me. You know I just want to stay by your side. Whether I'm a king consort or blood servant doesn't matter at all. I just don't want to lose my connection with you."
