Chapter 243

Chapter 243

Parker glanced toward the entrance and vanished from the spot.

Sure enough, shortly after, Olivia, Renata, and Royal arrived. They saw bodies scattered across the inferno, without a trace of life.

Royal looked around, his eyes narrowing, "Are we too late?"

"Not yet."

Olivia immediately spotted Christopher in the hall, quickly flew over, stopped beside him, and crouched down to check his breathing.

His breathing was normal, and there were no external injuries.

Olivia quietly breathed a sigh of relief, "Christopher is fine. From the looks of it, Parker has left his body too."

Renata stood beside her, searching everywhere for traces of Philly, but after checking every corner, she saw no sign of her, "Philly is really gone."

Her disappearance was within Olivia's expectations.

She helped Christopher to his feet, "Obviously Parker has possessed her body. She's probably already dead."

Royal's expression was hard to describe, "You really guessed it right, but this Parker is really flexible—he's actually willing to lower himself to possess a woman's body!"

"If I'm not mistaken, he should have already absorbed the Fire Element Blood Ruby and recovered most of his abilities, which is why he could leave Christopher's body unharmed."

"The only reason he spared Christopher is probably because he's afraid I'll pursue him relentlessly. It seems he has more important things to do."

Olivia's gaze was sharp, her tone extremely cold, "Royal, go track him. I want to see what this dear uncle of mine is really up to."

"Alright, I'll go now!"

Royal glanced at the two of them, then left without delay in the direction Parker had gone.

Meanwhile, Olivia and Renata brought Christopher back to Sacred Flame Village temporarily.

When Hank saw the three return, his anxious heart finally settled, and he hurried forward, "Thank goodness you're all back safe."

"We're fine, Village Chief, don't worry."

Olivia smiled at him. Knowing that Christopher was only temporarily unconscious, even though he'd lost the Fire Element Blood Ruby, she wasn't that angry anymore.

As long as he was safe, everything else could wait. She would eventually get the Fire Element Blood Ruby back from Parker.

Hearing this, Hank nodded heavily, but seeing Christopher still unconscious, he couldn't help asking, "What happened to Mr. Taylor?"

Olivia shook her head, "He just passed out. I'll take him back to rest first."

Hank quickly made way, letting her take Christopher back to the room to recuperate. He and Hayes busied themselves, directing the villagers to repair the buildings near the altar.

Under Olivia's Natural Energy nourishment, Christopher slowly opened his eyes, gazing at Olivia in confusion. Suddenly remembering something, he sat up abruptly.

This sudden movement aggravated his internal injuries, and he frowned.

Olivia quickly pressed him back down, looking at him disapprovingly, "You need to rest now. What are you doing? Why aren't you resting properly?"

"Olivia, Hestia wanted to inject soul-summoning medicine into me to awaken Parker, but then I passed out. What happened after that?"

He spoke somewhat urgently, then looked Olivia up and down. Seeing that she appeared uninjured, he finally breathed a sigh of relief, "Are you okay?"

Olivia smiled at him, "I'm fine. Hestia has been killed by Parker. Can you sense it now?"

Christopher didn't understand what she meant at first.

But when he sensed Parker's presence within his body, he found his consciousness was completely empty. He looked up in surprise and joy, a flash of excitement crossing his handsome face.

He grabbed her hand, his tone somewhat anxious, "Olivia, did you get the Fire Element Blood Ruby and help me drive Parker out?"

Olivia slowly shook her head.

Under Christopher's puzzled gaze, she slowly explained, "The Fire Element Blood Ruby was taken by Parker. At the time, he pretended to be you and gained our trust. The moment I opened the sacred flame wall, he stole the Fire Element Blood Ruby."

Christopher's pupils contracted sharply.

Thinking that his carelessness had given Parker the opportunity to seize the Fire Element Blood Ruby, Christopher's eyes flashed with regret, "Parker actually used such underhanded tactics? No wonder he's been so quiet lately—he was planning this all along."

"This isn't your fault. He and Philly worked together from inside and out. Plus, you were possessed and couldn't control yourself. Using your face to deceive me was actually clever of him."

Olivia smiled as she comforted him, "But this Parker didn't do everything wrong—at least he gave you back to me."

Hearing this, Christopher's ears turned red, and the anger that had risen from Parker's actions instantly disappeared.

He asked in confusion, "Why would he suddenly leave my body?"

Logically speaking, he should be Parker's ideal vessel.

"That's what puzzles me too. With Parker in your body, even if I caught up to him, I wouldn't kill him. But he was actually willing to give you up, and instead killed Philly and possessed her body."

Her gentle voice continued, "I suspect Parker has other important matters to attend to, but I don't know what they are yet."

"He turned against Philly and Fuhrman?"

After a moment of shock, Christopher couldn't help but laugh, "He is your uncle after all. His bloodline is noble—how could he lower himself to cooperate with Fuhrman and the others."

Olivia nodded slightly, "Exactly. He's very proud and has always disdained working with trash."

"We need to get the Fire Element Blood Ruby back as soon as possible."

Christopher's expression was resolute. As he spoke, he tried to throw off the covers and get out of bed, but Olivia pressed him down with one hand.

"Even if we want to get the Fire Element Blood Ruby back, there's no rush. Let's wait for Royal's news."

Royal and Renata walked into the room together, looking dejected, "Sorry, I lost him. I only know he went south, but when he noticed my presence, he immediately shook me off."

This was also within Olivia's expectations.

With Royal's abilities, keeping up with Parker was still a bit beyond him. She smiled, "It's okay. Just knowing his general direction is enough. I can use the Blood Ruby to sense the rest."

"But the southern direction seems to be toward the Abyss. Could he be trying to rebuild his physical body?" Renata speculated.

Parker's body was sealed in the abyss, so it would be normal for him to want to find and rebuild it. But Olivia felt it wouldn't be that simple.

She thought for a moment, "We'll rest at Sacred Flame Village for a day, then head to the Abyss tomorrow."

"Okay."

All three responded in unison.

Having finished discussing business, Renata and Royal tactfully left the room, giving the two some private time.

Seeing the fatigue in Christopher's eyes, Olivia unconsciously softened, her voice becoming gentler, "Sleep a bit more. I'll watch over you."

But Christopher stubbornly shook his head, his eyes fixed on her, "I don't want to sleep anymore. I want to look at you more."
