Chapter 105 Getting ready
Axel's POV
I was certain that I hadn't stopped smiling while I got dressed for the event of the day, I was thrilled beyond human comprehension. I'd retied my bowtie a couple of times because my mind kept
wandering to Lisa like the hopelessly smitten man I was, I could barely focus on myself.
I'd decided to wear a dark blue double-breasted suit instead of sticking with the conventional rite of black suits for the groom. I buttoned my jacket and dusted it proudly while I checked myself out in
the mirror, Lisa was lucky to be getting married to an absolute snack, I laughed as the silly thought crossed my mind.
It hit me again that very moment, I was truly getting married to the woman that made love feel so good I was certain we'd cheated the laws of the universe. I'd never thought I would be so certain that
someone was made for me, my soulmate, and my entire world.
Just then, a hand landed on my back and rubbed it aggressively and shook me out of the thoughts I'd immersed my mind in. I looked over my shoulder and my eyes met Prince's excited ones which made me smile again, he hadn't let me breathe since I told him I proposed to Lisa despite how adamant I'd been earlier toward the idea of getting married to her. "You're like a completely different person all of a sudden," He shook my shoulders as he spoke.
"After you almost brought the roof down about not being able to marry her, here you are grinning ear to ear." He laughed and I joined in because I couldn't refute his claims.
"Man, I couldn't possibly explain how she made me change my mind in literal seconds" I admitted to having been swayed after my adamance to accept the marriage proposal
"You're definitely under some sort of spell, she's got you wrapped around her fingers and she has no idea how much" He teased me happily like he knew I'd have no reasonable comebacks when it
came to Lisa.
"Yeah make fun of me all you want, I couldn't be any fucking happier today and not even your teasing can change that." I faced the mirror again and kept adjusting every inch of my suit.
"You know, the day I proposed I could help myself. Part of me was still fighting against it but my heart was overwhelmed with the love I thought it'd burst, fuck" I exclaimed as I shared my proposal
story with Prince for the millionth time.
"I mean, how long did you think it'd take for me to give in when I swore I wouldn't marry her?" I chuckled and asked Prince.
When I didn't get a reply from him my chuckle died down and I turned to see that he looked distracted like he'd zoned out and focused all his attention on something else. I followed the line of his
vision until my eyes landed on the source of his distraction.
It was Tricia.
Huh?
Tricia had her hair over her shoulder exposing her neckline that held an emerald crystal necklace that shone dimly, she was beaming widely at the camera she'd pointed at her face while taking selfies
and she was totally oblivious to Prince's lost stares.
And boyyy, he was staring at her, completely, unabashedly as if she was some sort of divine being that just came down from heaven.
I never knew Prince could be capable of openly admiring a lady like this.
Or maybe, he didn't want to do it openly and he just got carried away.
I was genuinely taken aback that Prince would be drawn to her, she'd always seemed like a baby sister to me whenever Lisa talked about her fondly. It was really weird that Prince seemed to find her
attractive and it definitely made me cringe.
I waved a hand over his face to grab his attention, "Hey, that's a no-go for you. Don't you dare think about it, she's practically my baby sister now."
"Mhm hmm," Prince shrugged nonchalantly while his eyes still followed her every movement.
I looked away from him and in her direction and a few seconds later, she turned to face me, waved enthusiastically, and began making her way toward me. I slightly tensed up because I didn't know
how Prince would respond in close proximity with her.
"She's coming over, behave man." I quickly muttered under my breath to Prince as I returned her wave with a small smile.
No, don't say that she signed loudly and then immediately clasped пer lips. She turned to face him quickly as though she was embarrassed.
"I'm sorry, my laughter is a bit loud and off the wheel" I heard her say to him in a rushed sentence, and he immediately stretched his hands for a handshake.
She placed her hand in his and he held on to it instead of letting go after their hands clasped in a handshake.
What has this evil spawn got up his sleeves this time around? I thought to myself as I watched them closely.
The way he'd stared into her eyes for a minute made me feel like they'd forgotten my presence immediately after their hands made contact, it made me wonder if Tricia knew what was going on.
"I'm not a great singer either, whoops. No luck there then I guess." Tricia said and laughed again, she was too innocent to have picked up on what he meant and he was simply staring at her
hopelessly.
"Yeah? I'll fill in, all you need to do is look gorgeous. Did I mention that? You look flawless." He finally kissed the hand he'd been holding in his and dropped it as a faint blush rose to her face in
seconds.
"Thank you so much!" Her eyes lit up and so did his huge smile that followed shortly.
"You look great in your suit too, great choice" She muttered nervously after her smile dimmed a bit.
"Glad you think so." Prince flashed her a smile while holding her gaze in a way that seemed way too familiar to me, he'd been smitten by a Volkov woman's charm.
"I'm Prince, and you're " He asked like he didn't already know.
"Tricia, it's nice meeting you, Prince" She batted her lashes as his name rolled off her lips like she was shy being under his gaze.
"My name has never sounded that good, thank you" There were no limits to the idiot's flirting, he didn't hold back the smile that tugged at his lips as he watched her smile in response.
"I'm gonna go yeah? Bye, Axel" She said nervously and walked away slowly like she was scared to take the wrong steps.
"Forget it" I whacked Prince's head the moment she was out of the door and he laughed heartily.
"Man leave me the fuck alone. And I would've bet on 24 hours for you to have given into marrying Lisa but it took you way less time." As he teased me instead, I noticed that he didn't acknowledge my
warning, sly fool.
"We're heading out for the procession soon, you ready?" He asked me after glancing at his wristwatch.
"Yeah, ready to meet my Mrs." I took a deep breath and smiled hopefully.
It was the fucking best day of my entire life, nothing could beat this.
