Chapter 49

Johana Morin POV

Gosh! She's so stupid!

"Jo could please calm down?" Jia said.

But to be honest, who would not be angry if you knew that your ex-girlfriend spread wrong information about you? Did she really told everybody that I got married? That I got my own family? Oh goodness! How crazy can you get, Bea?

"I can't calm down, Jia! She was so stupid! I called her name many times but she didn't look back. She didn't allow me to explain and then she would spread something like that? Like what the hell?"

And yes, that information really spread even in my work. My officemates would ask me if it's true. Even my parents got confused! It sounds crazy, right?

"Oh come on, Jo! Don't act as if you don't have your mistake too. You didn't follow her. You didn't even make a move to explain everything to her after that day."

I rolled my eyes. "I wasn't able to follow her because I was with baby Eula and you know how busy I was on the following days."

Jia laughed. "But if you saw each other in the grocery, why didn't you answer her question that time? Maybe she misinterpreted your silence."

I bit my lower lip as I remember that day... my heart just skipped a beat the moment I saw her again. She looks different now... she's so beautiful and handsome at the same time. I admit I was star-struck by her appearance. It's like I saw my celebrity crush for the first time. That's how I felt. I was too shy to talk to her...

"It was because... uh."

"Because?" Jia asked while raising an eyebrow.

"Whatever, Jia!"

"I think I know the answer." She said while wiggling her eyebrows. "I think you were star-struck by her, am I right?" She said while laughing.

I couldn't control my smile. I nodded. "Yup. She looks amazing."

"Oh. So that explains everything why both of you had to be in this situation."

I don't know! It's just that when I saw her again, I couldn't find any words to talk to her. I don't really know what was I saying that time! All I know is that she's back again and that she looks amazing and it makes me want to marry her right away. Like I really don't know anymore!

"But Jia... I swear! She looks different now. She's way too beautiful now. You like Marci right? You'll surely forget about him once you saw Bea again." I said.

But she frowned. "Don't you ever mention his name again!"

"Oh wow! Someone's bitter eh? As if you two had a relationship." I teased her.

"So? What do you care? He made me feel special to him so I had the right to become bitter that she has a girlfriend now. I hate him!" She said and throw a rock along the seashore. I laughed at what she did. We're in our mid-20s yet Jianna still looks like a kid having tantrums over something.

Anyway, we're here in Palawan for the team's reunion. We'll stay here for three days. I don't know if Bea would be here too... or if she's aware of this reunion.

"Don't you laugh at me Johana! You might forget about your husband and daughter." She teased me back and laughed so hard.

Oh gosh. This is all your fault, Del Valle!

"But to be honest, Jia... I feel somewhat hurt with what happened, with how Bea had that conclusion easily. Do I look like I will just replaced her just like that? Do I look like someone who will throw away our plans together?"

"You can't blame her. It's been years since the last time you talked to each other. It's been years since you two broke up."

"I know but even if we broke up, I told her that I will always wait for her..."

"I know, Jo... but Bea could not just hold on to that since you two have lost your communication."

Well, maybe Jia's right... But I just want Bea to know that even if we broke up, I still miss her, I still love her... I still long for her hugs and kisses... I'm still waiting for her to come back because she promised me we'll be together again in the right time. I didn't lose hope even though we parted ways.

"Will you still push through with your plans even if you feel like that?" She asked.

I rolled my eyes. "I don't know! Whatever! I'm still mad at her!"

Jianna laughed at me. "Really? Or you just want Bea to make it up to you? You just want her to show her affection to you again, right?"

I smiled. Actually, I'm waiting for it. I missed her efforts.

"I knew it! I know that smile, Jo!" Jianna said while laughing. "Goodness! I feel like we're back to being college students again!"

We just walked around the seashore and teased each other until...

"Oh gosh! Is that Bea?" Jia whispered while we're walking back to the venue.

I froze for a moment. I feel so nervous. My heart's pounding... I can't follow Jianna's gaze. I was just looking down.

"Jia... don't look at her. Please. Don't look. Hide me." I said because I feel so nervous! I wasn't prepared to see her again!

"Oh gosh, Johana... she's walking towards us." Jianna whispered.

I closed my eyes even though I'm just looking down. I held Jianna's arm even tighter. "Oh gosh, Jia. Please don't look at her."

"She's near, Jo."

"I told you not to look at her!" I yelled at Jia and she just laughed so hard so I looked at her.

"I was just joking, Jo! You're so funny! You look like a teenager hiding on your crush!" She said while holding her stomach for laughing so hard.

"I hate you!" I said and left her alone.

Ugh! I hate you so much, Jianna! What if what she said was real? What will I do now?! I wasn't ready to see her again. I feel so embarrassed awhile ago and I'm still nervous even though Jia told me it was just a joke. I just marched off the venue with a frown on my face.

"I hate you, Jianna. I will surely--- Ouch!" I didn't notice my way and bumped into someone. "Can you please get---" I looked up and wasn't able to finish what I'm about to say when...

I see her again.

I just looked at her... I froze. I cannot move. I'm just staring at her beautiful face. Why do I feel like I will faint with the way she looks at me?

"My baby Johana..." She said and smiled at me.

Oh gosh. I--- I couldn't breathe. AAAAAH!

It still feels the same when she called me baby. I miss this feeling.

But I suddenly remember what she did. After I did everything to prove to her parents that I'm deserving for Bea she will just accused me of having my own family?

And yes, even if they're far away, I would always reach out to her parents until the day they told me to just let Bea achieve all of her goals and after that we can be together again. That's why I had the courage to broke up with Bea. We may lost our own communication, but I am still connected with her parents.

And I would always wait for her to come back, while she's busy achieving her dreams, I'm also working hard here. There are times that I would really miss her so I will go to their house to check if she's back already. I don't want to rely to her Mother's update. I want to see it myself that's why I do it.

"I missed you, my baby Johana." She said and was about to hug me but I stepped back.

"Why did you tell everyone I got married and I had my own family?" I asked.

She didn't answer and her face turns red. "Don't flirt with me if that's what you believe." I said and walked away.

Even if I want to hug her right now... I just feel like doing it. I want her to reflect on what she did.

Because tomorrow will be a big event and I just feel like stressing her tonight.

It's not a joke to wait for 5 years huh.

Beatriz Del Valle POV

Woah... she just passed by me?

What was that?

"OMG! Bea? Is that you?" I looked around and saw Jia. She still looks the same. Cute.

"Hi, Jia!" I said and hugged her.

"OMG! I can't believe you're here. Johana's right! You look different now." She said while staring at me. "Come on! Let's go inside and tease Johana!"

She pulled me but I stopped. "She's mad. We just met here."

"Don't mind her! She just want to be chased by you so what are you waiting for? Follow her before her husband arrived here." She teased.

"Jia!" I frowned.

"You're so stupid and so funny at the same time, Bea!" She said while laughing. "Anyway, go inside and explain everything to her." She said and tapped my shoulder.

So I went inside the venue. I saw there my former teammates. We talked for awhile. I also saw Madeline and Pauline still together. I smiled and talked to them as well. They have been together for years. They never broke up and they still looked happy and in love despite the years they are together.

I suddenly thought of what Jo and I had been through. It's a lot. But right now, we're here. I will surely not waste this chance.

I saw Johana sitting alone while looking at her phone so I decided to walk closer to her.

"Hey." I said.

She looked at me with plain face. I can't deny that she looks more beautiful now. I wouldn't get tired of staring at her all day.

"Can I sit beside you?" I asked.

"No. But we have to talk so follow me." She said and walked away.

Oh gosh. What's with her? She keeps on making me chase her but I find it cute though.

She's walking so fast and I wasn't able to catch her when Ella saw me...

"Bea!" She said and hugged me immediately. It looks like she just arrived here.

"OMG! You're back! I missed you!" She said. "Have you seen Johana's husband and daughter?" She asked obviously teasing me.

"Oh. You also know about it." I said and shook my head.

"Of course! My husband told me about it. Why do you assume things so easily, Bea? Didn't you know Johana never stopped loving you?" She said and smiled at me.

"I don't know. I was overthinking."

She laughed at me. "Well, that's love it makes you go crazy and stupid sometimes. Have you talked to Johana already?"

"Actually, I was following her but then I saw you."

"Oh really? Alright! Go ahead and follow her. Don't make her wait again, Bei. She's been waiting all her life." Ella joked.

"Sure. Anyway, congratulations on having a beautiful family, Ella." I said.

She smiled at me. "Thank you!"

After talking to Ella, I immediately followed Johana. I saw her standing in the seashore.

"Johana!" I called her name and she looked at me.

God. She's so beautiful. I really missed her.

"Hey." I said as soon as I come close to her.

"So, would you mind explaining?" She asked.

I took a deep breath. "I know I was so stupid. I'm sorry for what I did. I'm really sorry, Johana."

I explained to her everything on why I ended with that conclusion. I told her I went to their old house... and all.

I saw her laughed. "You're so stupid."

I laughed too. "I know. Would you still accept me in your life despite what I did?"

She looked at me smiled. "What do you think?"

"I think you will." I said confidently.

She rolled her eyes while smiling. "In your dreams."

She said and ran to the water. "Oh, so you really want to be chased huh." I said and I heard her giggle.

So I did follow her as she swims...

"I'm coming, Jo! I won't let you go once I catch you." I said and she continued running until I finally catch her. I hugged her from the back.

She was laughing so hard and I just missed hearing those laughs. It suddenly became a music to my ears.

"I got you!" I said.

She faced me and we're now staring at each other. I pulled her closer to me and she started to wrap her arms around my neck while I'm holding her waist.

"I missed you." I whispered.

She's smiling right now but I can see her tears falling down. "I missed you more, Beatriz." She said with a shaky voice.

I started kissing her tears that's falling on her cheeks. I see her closed her eyes... I kissed her eyes as well.

"I won't leave you ever again, Johana. Thank you for waiting for me."

She opened her eyes and smiled at me. "It was worth it. I love you, Bea..." She said while staring at me.

I pulled her closer to me... I leaned on her face that made the tip of our nose pressed against each other.

I stared at her lips... I was longing for its taste... So, I kissed her lips passionately without a second thought. She responds quickly.

I waited so long for this moment and I must say that it's really worth the wait. It still feels the same after a very long time, the feeling of kissing her never changed. It still makes me fall for her even more.

It still fulfills everything in me.

We stopped kissing and I look straight into her eyes. "I love you so much, Johana. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
