Drama! Drama! Drama!

It had been months since the group had gotten together, and Jane was beginning to miss her friends. She pulled out the cell phone and created a group text to the girls asking if they wanted to go out that evening.

Aisha quickly replied letting her know she was just beginning her shift at the hospital, and instead of sending a text, Chloe sent a picture of her kid. Jane stared at the picture with disdain. If she wanted to know what the kid looked like, she would have gone to see it in person.

That left Lila.

Lila always came through for her and she knew she would do it now. Jane quickly showered and fixed her hair afterward. She was standing in front of the bathroom mirror applying make-upwhen her cell phone chimed. "About fucking time, Lila," Jane said to herself, throwing the lip liner carelessly into the sink, causing it to bounce around the basing. Jane rushed to look at the text message.

It wasn't Lila, it was a spam text message.

Jane frowned immediately opting to take the bull by the horns. She dialed Lila's number but was unsuccessful in getting through. She tried again; same thing happened.

No fucking way she was still mad. That was impossible.

Jane was about to send another group text, opting to text Aisha on her own to find out if she had Lila's new phone number, since she reason, that would be the only reason she did not respond. As she waited, she returned to the bathroom to continue getting ready.

By the time she was done getting ready, she had decided she would have to go to Lila's house in person because Aisha had not responded either. If she was just beginning her shift, she would probably be busy.

Jane grabbed a small purse from the closet and filled it with breath mints, lipstick, some currency and her cell phone. She grabbed the keys on her way out and headed to Lila's as soon as she had gotten into her car.

She was blocks away when Aisha texted that Lila still had the same phone number.

Jane rolled her eyes, laughing at Lila's dramatics. She thought she could ignore her? she clearly didn't know her at all.

Jane parked a few houses away from Lila's and quickly alighted the vehicle. She hurried down the sidewalk in her heels with her eyes aimed at Lila's dwelling. When it came into view, Jane looked through the window noticing that Lila had a few people over. For one, she saw Aisha standing against the kitchen counter as Lila held what she deduced was that whining little killjoy that came out of Kevin.

There was another woman standing with them - an older woman she didn't recognize.

As Jane neared the house, she was able to hear male laughter through the open window.

What the hell kind of friend was Lila? she asked as she grew more and more upset with every step.

If Lila was having a get-together, the least she could have done was invite her!

She crossed the pathway to Lila's home and rang the doorbell. Her hands came to rest on her hip right away.

"Let me get that," she heard her friend's voice.

"Oh, I'll take the baby!" she heard an unfamiliar voice say. "These arms need to start practicing for my little grandbaby."

The door unlocked and was pulled open. The first thing Jane saw was Lila's smiling face which immediately disappeared as soon as the two women made eye contact.

Good! Jane thought. She hoped she had given her friend a moment of discomfort.

Lila stepped outside and closed the door behind her. "What are you doing here, Jane?" She whispered angrily.
