Chapter 7

After Nill's departure, life at home became even more unbearable.

My sister, already the apple of my father's eye, now enjoyed even greater favor.

My father and older brother's abuse towards me escalated to new heights.

One day, my sister deliberately knocked over a precious vase, a family heirloom said to have been blessed by the moon goddess herself.

But instead of admitting her wrongdoing, she falsely accused me. Without a moment's hesitation, my father and brother dragged me out to the courtyard.

My father, his face contorted with fury, wielded a thick, leather whip. Each lash of the whip cut through the air like a thunderclap, landing on my body with brutal force.

I curled up on the ground, my body convulsing with pain as my skin split open, blood oozing from the fresh wounds.

I bit my lip hard, for I knew that showing weakness would only invite more punishment. In my heart, I silently prayed for Nill to return soon, to rescue me from this nightmare.

In those dark, hopeless days, my memories of Nill were the only things that kept me going. After every beating, I would retreat to a hidden corner, my body aching and broken, and recall every moment we had spent together.

I held firm to the belief that Nill would keep his promise and lead me out of this endless abyss.

When Nill finally returned, he was met with the devastating news that I had been sent to prison.

For days, he scoured the werewolf - run prison system, using his connections to track me down.

At long last, he found me. But what he saw broke his heart.

Tears welled up in Nill's eyes as he held Selina in his arms.

"Selina will have Nill to love her from now on."

And every day, without fail, he would visit me, spending hours by my side, playing games and sharing stories.

One sunny afternoon, the warm rays of the sun filtered through the thin curtains. I sat on the edge of the bed, engrossed in arranging a freshly - delivered bouquet of flowers in a somewhat worn - looking vase.

Suddenly, the door burst open with a loud "bang,"

A tall, muscular man dragged a woman with a gaudy makeup and a tight - fitting dress into the room.

The man's chiseled features, usually so handsome, were now marred by anxiety and exhaustion.

The woman, her high - heeled shoes clicking loudly on the floor, entered with an air of impatience.

The man's eyes locked onto me in an instant.

He charged towards me like a madman, seizing my arm with a grip so tight it felt as if he were trying to crush my bones.

His voice, hoarse with emotion, trembled as he shouted, "Selina, what on earth are you doing? Why are you hiding here? Do you have any idea how crazy I've been looking for you?"

I struggled violently, trying to free myself from his grasp, my heart pounding with anger and confusion.

"Who are you? Let go!" I screamed.

A flash of pain crossed the man's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by urgency. "Selina, stop this nonsense! I'm Alpha Jacob, your fiancé! You endured so much suffering in prison. Why didn't you tell me? I thought I was just teaching you a minor lesson, but I never imagined they'd treat you like this!"

"Fiancé? I don't know you at all! What prison? I don't understand a word you're saying!" I shrieked, thrashing even more wildly.

In an instant, Nill, who had been standing guard nearby, lunged forward.

With a powerful shove, he pushed Alpha Jacob away, shielding me protectively.

His eyes blazed with a fierce, wolfish anger. "Alpha Jacob, stay away from her! What's the use of feigning concern now? Where were you when she was being tormented in prison?"

Alpha Jacob stumbled backward a few steps. Once he regained his balance, he snarled, "Nill, butt out! This is between me and Selina!" His werewolf muscles tensed, ready for a fight if necessary.

Just as they were at a standstill, two men who bore a striking resemblance rushed into the room.

Their eyes lit up with joy the moment they saw me.

The taller of the two exclaimed, "Selina, we've finally found you! We're your older and second - older brothers. Come home with us!"

I cowered behind Nill, eyeing them warily.

There was not a trace of familiarity in my heart.

"Older brothers? Second - older brothers? I don't have any brothers. You must have the wrong person," I said, my voice quivering.

Everyone froze in place, as if struck by a spell.

Their faces were a mask of shock and disbelief.

The two men seemed unable to believe their ears. They took a few steps closer, their voices filled with anxiety. "Selina, what's wrong? Did you suffer some trauma in prison? We really are your brothers!"

I furrowed my brow, looking from Alpha Jacob to these so - called brothers. I was utterly confused. "Who are you people? I just want to be with Nill. Leave us alone!" I cried out, my voice breaking.

Alpha Jacob's face darkened.

In a fit of rage, he lunged forward and grabbed Nill by the collar.

"You've bewitched her, haven't you? You're keeping her from me and her family!"

"Nill, what on earth have you done to Selina? Why doesn't she recognize us anymore? Don't think I haven't found out. You're the bastard in that video!"

Alpha Jacob roared, his face contorted with fury.

"How dare you touch my fiancée? What's your game?"

The woman behind him, Sarina, quickly piped up. "Sister, it's me, your dear sister Sarina. Even if you've lost your memory, you can't just run around with some random man and cuckold Alpha Jacob. We've all been so worried about you," .

Upon hearing this, Nill let out a derisive laugh.

"Dear sister? Sarina, you really have a nerve," he sneered, his wolfish eyes narrowing in contempt.

He then turned his gaze to Alpha Jacob.

"You, who let your own fiancée suffer for three long years, are lower than the lowest of beasts," he spat, his voice dripping with disgust.

With a swift movement, he signaled to someone outside the room. Moments later, a disheveled - looking man, clearly a prison guard, was shoved into the room. The guard's eyes were wide with fear, and he was trembling from head to toe.

"Speak," Nill commanded, his voice like ice.

The guard swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing nervously. "It... it was all her," he stammered, pointing a shaking finger at Sarina. "She paid me a fortune to film that video. She said she wanted to ruin Selina. I... I didn't know it would cause so much trouble. I didn't do anything to Selina, it's just a pose"
