“So you did all this to humiliate me and show that you’re in charge?” I asked with my head heid high. Two weeks had passed since the last time I had seen him, the day I kissed Richard in front of him and then there was that fight, two weeks had passed and I thought Jason was going to forget me and get his life together, but it all felt like he was still fixated on me, just who now wants to take revenge for me rejecting.
him. “Can you at least change?”
“Change, Laura? You fucking kissed another man in front of me and you want me to change? I think I deserve to make you suffer a little!” He wasn’t over me.
I don’t know if I was sad or happy with that revelation, maybe a mixture of both feelings, but I decided to keep my face to him. “Richard is my boyfriend, Jason. And that’s what boyfriends do, they kiss now and then,” I replied, standing firm.
“How long are you going to keep lying to yourself?”
“Lying? I think you’re the one who’s lying to yourself, you can’t even get on with your life. You act like you’re a complete child wanting to take revenge on me and harm all the work we’ve done with so much dedication. Do you want to attack me?
So attack me, not the project!” I said it authoritatively.
He looked at the ground, having no more arguments. “Do you think it’s not difficult
for me to try to forget you? I’m trying, Laura, but it’s not so easy to get you out of my
head.”
“Well, then God is punishing you properly, but I don’t want to be dragged into your
punishment. I have a daughter, Jason, before you do anything to me, please think
that it could harm her,” I asked, maybe I could manipulate him, but Jason shook his
head.
“I don’t care about that child! No one cares about me, so why would I care about
other people’s children?” He said this, placing his hand on his head. “Don’t try to manipulate me using your daughter in this matter, Laura. She just doesn’t come in here, I don’t want to know anything!”
“How can you be so bad? My daughter is just a child! Are you willing to harm a

child’s life just so you can get revenge on me?”
“Only you can save your daughter’s future, Laura?” He said making me wrinkle my
eyebrows.
“What do you mean?” What was this crazy person talking about?
“You can have everything you ever dreamed of, a high position, a lot of money, and a
good life, so you can give the best and the best to your daughter. All you have to do
is accept me back and you will have all this and much more.
“You’re disgusting, Jason!” I was horrified. “Are you even willing to buy my love? But
my love is not for sale, and my daughter and I are very far from you!” I threw those
words at him and turned to leave, talking to him was a waste of time.
“Stop being selfish, Laura. You only know how to think about yourself from the
beginning,” he said running up to me and holding me by the arm making me look at
him.
“Let me go!” I told him to let me go, I was mad at him, but he didn’t let me go and
insisted.
“Look, do you want your damn project? Do you want all your coworkers not to get hurt because of you? I’ll release the project, I’ll accept your work right now if you
want,” he said.
“You will accept?” I was surprised. Would he accept it? He nodded.
“Yes, I’ll give the go–ahead, but first you have to give me something.”
“What thing?”
“A kiss. Kiss me and you will have your work freedom.”
