Chapter 14 Chapter Fourteen
There’s really a thin line between lust and hatred~ Xander Vancei.

She purses her lips and plays with the dagger in her hand. “See? Even your brothers think that you’re not up to the task.” She makes a face. I’m enraged. I know she’s provoking me on purpose, but the anger slowly creeps up my chest. She’s dressed in flowing robes, one of the outfits we ordered to be delivered to her. Yet, the way she’s moving, the daring look in her eyes, and obstinate posture gives a strange aura that I haven’t felt before.
“Say that again.” I dare her. She opens her mouth to speak, but Xavier interrupts her.
“You’re not fit to challenge an Alpha.” He says arrogantly. He’s wasting time. When she’s pinned beneath me, unable to move due to amount of strength I’m exerting on her body, she won’t dare be so bold anymore.
Lillyan laughs. “An Alpha? Your pack hasn’t even accepted you yet.” She taunts. I’m in front of her in a flash, gripping her and lifting her by the neck. Her eyes roll back, and a stabbing pain draws my attention to the pain on my wrist. It’s a sharp intentional slash, and my eyes dart to the sharp dagger which she withdraws, the object still dripping with my blood. My eyes glow a bright red, my wolf kicking with the urge to extent its dominance. Anger licks at my veins, but I withdraw my hold on her neck, and she pushes back with a wheezed gasp. I can’t control my rage. I need to hurt someone or my wolf won’t calm down.
I ball my hands and dash for her, uncaring that this is the throne room, and as a rule, no fights are allowed within. I don’t even care that the Betas are watching, and they’ll deem my actions as being unable to control my emotions, and therefore weak to be one of the Alphas.
Lillyan’s face lits up in a strange excitement, and for a minute, I suspect that she wants this. She wants to fight me. Well, I have lots of fights to give to her. She swerves to the side just as I come within reach, and her dagger swipes at me. I dodge, and the air whistles with the intensity of the swipe. Her lips curl into a taunting smile, fueling my rage, and making me lose all rationality.
The urge to shift gets strong, my senses heightening, and the world slowing down. She bounces lightly on her feet, her eyes watching for my movement, and dagger ready to attack.
My claws emerge and my canines get sharper. Goddess help her if she comes within my reach. I’m going to leave a mark on her skin, not to mark her as mate, but to warn her that she’s beneath us. So what if she was our mate?
“Xander!” Above the loud roars of my heart against my chest, the rush of blood through my body, and the way her scent teases me in ways I do not like, I hear Xavier growl. He sounds at the limit of his patience. I ignore him, and dash for her again. This time, she goes down on her knees and aims for my balls. For an inexperienced werewolf, it’s impossible to avoid this strike. But I’m not inexperienced. To everyone else, I’m the son of the dead Alpha. No one, except my brothers, know that the man currently fighting Lillyan is the leader of the underworld—a deadly place that only the fittest survives. Yet, I’ve lost my rationality just at a few provoking words from her. She’s going to pay for this.
After dealing with her as I should, I’m going to tie her up on my bed, and I’m going to fuck her real good and in different positions until she begs for mercy. Then, I’m going to position her mouth near my cock and I’m going to fuck that pretty little mouth of hers that made me lose control in front of Betas. And my brothers.
“Xander!” This time, it’s Xarius who snaps at me. If they think I’m going to leave a fight halfway, they know nothing about me. My claws slashes at flesh, and satisfaction blasts through me as she winces and retreats a step back. She dodges the next two consecutive slashes, and I miscalculate in the next minute. It happens so fast that I don’t see it coming. Just as I push forward to grab her and disarm her, she pierces her dagger into my arm, deep that blood spurts out. I’m not that worried about losing consciousness due to loss of blood. The wound will heal courtesy of my Alpha genes.
“Daughter of a bitch!” I cuss, grasping at my arm, and shooting laser-like glares at her. She smirks.
“What? Is Alpha Xander going easy on me because I’m a woman?” She questions provocatively.
I growl, my legs already on the move before my brain is done catching up. My brothers grab me from both sides, effectively halting my every intention of committing murder.
She stands in place, lazily wiping off my blood with her robe, and I try to get out of my brothers’ hold. It’s futile.
“She’s our mate, do you want to kill her?” Xavier hisses, his voice low so only I can hear.
“She rejected us.” I counter. The thought of me makes me boil in rage. No woman has ever rejected me. She’s the first. And I promise to break her, and I’m going to do it slowly so she feels every bit of it.
She’s done cleaning her dagger, and she gives us a nonchalant nod. “You lost, Xander. Anyone else wants to try and stop me?” She questions, her eyes roaming over the men in the room.
My arms bunch, and I really want to teach her a lesson. But my brothers are stopping me.
“This meeting is over.” Xavier says authoritatively. Before now, I don’t care that he takes the wheel when it comes to political matters. However, due to the fact that he’s stopping me from going over to Lillyan and wiping off that satisfied smile on her face, I’m inwardly resentful.
“Good.” Lillyan replies, and turns to leave.
