Best Trip Ever!

Best Trip Ever!

Alana's POV

Best trip ever!

I had the best day of my life yesterday literally and didn't expect today to try to compete with it. There was a lot to do, Ryan really planned it out.

Our first stop was an outdoor fair. Ryan was too rich for this stuff but the fact that he brought me here, knowing I would love it meant a lot to me. I got a lot of second hand items and tons of people took pictures with us, we literally created a buzz that was maddening.

Our next stop was the market. I enjoyed sight seeing and the smell of fresh, free produce made my day brighter.

It consisted mainly of middle aged working, strong women that clearly knew their onions, and they made the market so clean with breathable air, everything was so tantalizing to buy.

The women made lots of fresh meals and drinks with them, which was really healthy. Ryan purchased a few for the both of us and even the guards that came with us.

When we were done, we were directed to the head of the market.

She seemed really old, but she was still agile and had a wonderful smile. And of course she knew who I was.

“I know you from television!” She yelled immediately we arrived, and I couldn't help but smile and nod my head. Then she turned and saw Ryan and almost had a heart attack. He rushed to her side and enveloped her in a hug.

“You're okay. You're okay.” She was fed a bottle of water then we brought her back to life. Ryan immediately did what he came here to do and I was shocked and so proud of him.

He made a very generous donation to the market and the community nearby. It was for transportation of the goods and warehousing, like constant power to make them last longer for a long period of time.

He was also going to make sure that they were supplying excess products to poorer families that needed them, even schools. I almost shed a tear or two because it reminded me of times when I was also in need, when I struggled to eat.

The woman cried a lot and called others to celebrate with her and thank us. After a billion pictures, we left the beautiful market that I was definitely going to miss.

We stopped for lunch at a very cheap restaurant. I laughed because how? Did he even know what to order, what to do? It was certainly my time to shine. I mean, I had been exposed to cheap food all my life, so I took charge of the ordering and got us something I knew he'd enjoy. I got the same and we dug in and ate while chatting about our day so far.

Ryan had become a changed man. Sometimes I wondered if he was always like this but he either had no idea or he was just fighting it. I mean, he used to be very mean to me, but now he can't even stay mad for two seconds.

Our next stop was the museum, and it was evening time so we walked in together. I got to see everything, learn about history wearing the biggest cardigans as the cold began to close in on us.

At a point Ryan excused himself to make a phone call and he stayed away for over ten minutes, and it worried me a little. When I asked him why he took so much time, he brushed it off and kissed my forehead. I found it suspicious, but I let it go.

After taking a couple of nice pictures together, we left, but we didn't go straight home like I thought we would. Instead, we arrived at a decent church. It was quite empty, and I wondered what we were doing there. Ryan didn't say a word to me as we walked all the way to the front.

Then we stopped and as I looked around, confused for a second there, a man, presumably a pastor, walked in.

“You're quite early, Mr Kelsey. Welcome.”

I turned to face him.

“What's going on?”

He cleared his throat, and he looked nervous. No, wait. Is this what I thought it was? Oh my gosh.

“I was scared to tell you, so I brought you here first. You can still change your mind, but I brought you here just to give you that chance. Marry me now. I can't last another second with you not being my wife. It's killing me.”

I couldn't believe my ears. He looked so vulnerable.

“Ryan–”

“When I made the phone call at the museum, I sent someone to get emergency rings. I can't wait to marry you. Please. Look, we can still plan that wedding. It doesn't matter, we can still get married then again but let's get married today, right this second.”

I was moved to tears.

“I can't believe this.” I managed to say barely.

“No matter what, it's real. What I feel for you is real, and I know you feel the same. Please agree, don't let us keep this pastor waiting.”

“I can decline, right?” I tried to tease to ease up tension but clearly he was more than serious.

“Yes, but please, don't. I'm willing to do anything.” Fuck. Damn, Jesus.

“Anything?” I raised a brow, a malicious expression caressed my face even though I had nothing in mind.

“Yes.”

“Fine, let's get married!” I was more than excited. In our very crazy, non marriage attire, we tied the knot, sealing it with a passionate kiss and a heavy diamond amethyst ring.

We were now man and wife. Ryan carried me out of the church in bridal style, screaming to everyone that would hear that he had succeeded in marrying me, referring to me as the most beautiful and the most amazing woman he had ever seen.

Woah. I'm a wife. I'm a married woman, aren't I?

We headed home afterwards to rest for the next day's activities. Ryan couldn't stop smiling, bursting with excitement.

We took turns taking a shower because we both knew that if we went in there together after everything that happened today, I was going to come out very sore and then the next day's activity would be cancelled.

We didn't say anything to each other directly, we just respected each other and knew it deep down.

Ryan went first and when I came out after him, a table was set for us, very romantic.

“Just married” was decorated across the balcony with balloons. It looked magical. We settled down to eat but the second my nose weaved passed the oysters, I ran straight to the toilet.

I vomited my guts out, Ryan helped me wash my face and I decided that I didn't want that dinner anymore, so we settled for something else.
