Chapter 741 High Risk

Chapter 741 High Risk

Because I've had similar experiences, it wasn't a dream visitation, just some kind of hypnotic display.

I glanced at Isadora again and noticed her eyes looked a bit dark, probably from lack of sleep.

“So even if we go to the party, there's a good chance we won't get in,” Joanna said, frowning.

Suddenly, I remembered the temporary tattoos the tattoo shop owner had given us. Could they be for this occasion?

“But they sent us invitations. It would be pretty rude to turn us away at the door,” Royce said, disagreeing with Joanna.

Everyone had their own theories, and each seemed somewhat plausible. Ultimately, we'd have to go to find out.

“There’s no point in debating this now. We should just go to the party and see for ourselves. Everything will become clear then,” I said, leaning towards attending.

Although there might be some danger, as the saying goes, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

Royce pondered for a moment and then nodded. “I'll go with you.”

Joanna sighed and looked at us. “Since you all want to go, I can't be the coward here.”

We all smiled. Even though we were uncertain, having friends by our side was comforting.

And of course, we wouldn't go unprepared.

“We don’t need to rush. We have at least a week to get ready. We can investigate further,” Royce said, checking the date on the invitation.

I nodded in agreement. “Exactly. We shouldn’t scare ourselves before the challenge even comes.”

“Alright, alright. Enough pep talks. We're all going,” Joanna said with a wry smile.

I touched my nose and looked at Joanna. “If you really don’t want to go, you don’t have to force yourself.”

“Are you underestimating me?” Joanna clicked her tongue. “I’m worried about the risks, but I’m not backing down.”

Joanna had emphasized this repeatedly.

I quickly nodded. “Of course, I trust you. I didn’t mean anything by it. I just don’t want you to bear the risk with us.”

Royce grabbed my wrist, calming me down.

I took a deep breath and continued, “I do want you all to come with us, but your analysis made me realize something.”

Joanna made a stop gesture.

“I know what you’re going to say. You just realized the party might be riskier than you thought, right?”

I nodded. “So I can’t force you to come.”

“You’re not forcing us. We’re choosing to come,” Joanna said with a smile.

I was taken aback and looked at everyone. Their eyes were filled with determination.

How lucky I was to have such friends!

“Let me confirm once more. Are you really sure?”

Joanna and the others nodded. “We’re sure.”

My emotions were complex, but I said nothing more.

After discussing, we had dinner together before heading home.

I found the gift box from the tattoo shop owner and counted the temporary tattoos. There were just enough for everyone.

How could it be so coincidental? Did the tattoo shop owner foresee this?

Not foresee, but know in advance.

Why did he give us the tattoos? If we can't enter the party without them...

I rubbed my temples. No matter how I analyzed it, I couldn’t figure out his motive.

Just then, Royce came out of the shower and saw my troubled expression.

“What’s wrong? Something bothering you?”

I showed Royce the temporary tattoos. “There are exactly enough for everyone attending.”

Royce was shocked and counted them again.

“It really is. How coincidental.”

I pursed my lips. “Do you think the tattoo shop owner prepared these specifically for us to enter the party?”

Royce stroked his chin, deep in thought.

After a while, he shook his head. “What is Red Spider Lily up to?”

I shook my head. “Should we use these tattoos? If we can't get in, will these work?”

“We’ll only know on the day. Let’s set this aside for now,” Royce said, sitting next to me. “We have quite a few people on Facebook who got invitations too.”

I nodded. I checked earlier and found that at least one-fifth of the invitees had tattoos.

This ratio among attendees wasn’t small.

“Let’s ask around and see if anyone knows the host,” Royce said, drying his hair.

I took the towel from him and started drying his hair.

We were so used to this routine, it felt like we were an old married couple.

“I saw Asher got an invitation too. Let’s start with him,” I suggested.

Asher was a close friend and we trusted him.

“Good idea. I’ll message him to see if he’s free tomorrow,” Royce said, pulling out his phone.

I glanced at his phone screen and saw our photo as his wallpaper, feeling a mix of emotions.

Just as Royce sent the message, Asher called.

“You guys still up?” his voice came through the phone.

“Yeah. We saw you got an invitation too. Are you planning to go?” Royce asked.

“I really don’t want to. It seems dangerous,” Asher replied, surprising us.
