Bonus Chapter 1: Elena and Priscilla
Bonus Chapter 1: Elena and Priscilla
Elena
I threw the door to Annie and Hannah’s room open. I grinned at them.
“I have a cookie for the one that irritates Osprey and Gerald the most.”
Annie giggled and shoved Hanna. “That cookie is mine.”
Hannah eyed me. “What kind of cookie?”
Toya poked her head from around my back before hiding back behind me. “It’s caramel chocolate chip,” she whispered.
Priscilla bounced into the room. “I want in but I don’t need the cookie. I’ll do it for free.”
I giggled as I high-fived her. “I knew you were my favorite.”
I ushered Toya inside before scanning the hallway for our brothers. “I know you have a plan, Scilla. Spill.”
Her face split open into a huge evil smile. “Aunt Scarlett is coming over. I say we use her.”
My eyes twinkled at her. “Why you little conniving rat! I love it! So what do we do?”
She turned to look at Annie and Hannah. “I think we stuff them with sugar and then have our dads rile them up. When they have to vomit, I say we have them go vomit on the boys. It’ll embarrass him in front of Scarlett.”
I stared at her. “That’s gross. I wouldn’t want to be vomited on.”
She giggled. “That’s the point.”
“When we get in trouble, I’m telling Daddy Sebastian on you,” Latoya whined, making me turn my head to glare at her.
“Don’t tattle. I promise you you will stay perfectly innocent in your father’s eyes.”
She pouted, pushing her bottom lip out like she was about to cry. I covered her mouth.
“Please, don’t cry. Or your dad will come in here and bust us.”
She bit my hand and ran to the door. I growled and dove at her feet.
“DADDY!,” she screamed.
Seconds later, Daddy Lee came rushing into the room. “Toya, what’s wrong?”
She wrapped her arms around his neck as she told him what we were up to. He frowned at us as he listened to his little mini-me blather on about our plans. He narrowed his eyes on me.
“Elena Louise! Don’t make your sisters vomit on purpose.”
I groaned. “But, Dad, we-”
“I said no. Don’t make me tell your other fathers! Behave! Come on, honey. Let’s get you down for a nap.” He turned to look around the room. “I’ll be telling the rest of your fathers they need to come speak with you all!”
I flipped Toya off behind his back and she stuck her tongue out. What a little brat! She went back and forth from being afraid of life to wanting to destroy all our fun.
“We need a new plan!” I said.
“No, you don’t,” Daddy Tony said walking in with Daddies Sebastian, Jamie and my father.
Daddy Jamie picked Hannah up and bounced her a little.
“You shouldn’t always listen to your sisters, honey. They are a bad influence,” he told her.
Sebastian crossed his arms over his chest. “You know, you girls keep tormenting your brothers now and they will get their payback.”
I rolled my eyes. “But it's so fun.”
“It won’t be so fun when they don’t let you date. Behave yourselves.” He looked at my father. “Your daughter is such a ringleader of chaos.”
“Mine? I’m sure the vomit was Priscilla’s idea.”
“It was,” I quickly informed them.
My father grinned. “See?”
Jamie rolled his eyes. “I am so glad the boys take after Timothy and Falcon. They’d be overwhelmed if they didn’t.”
I looped my arm through Priscilla’s. “Okay, Daddy, we will behave. Come on, Scilla. Mommy bought me new nail polish.”
I dragged her down the hall to my room before I shut the door with my ear pressed against it, listening for our fathers to leave the room. I glanced over my shoulder at her as I opened Gerald’s link.
‘Can you come help me? I need to reach for something on my shelf but I’m not tall enough.’
‘Coming.’
I grinned at Scilla. “Get the makeup.”
She rushed to get it while I waited poised by the door for him to come in. I had one chance to take him down. He was tall like Daddy Timothy and was strong like him, too. It didn’t surprise me since he looked just like his father but it was almost uncanny just how similar. The door opened and he walked in. I tackled him to the floor, wrapping my arms and legs around him. Priscilla shut the door and locked it while I held him down.
She hurriedly painted his lips with a deep crimson lipstick before struggling to apply eyeliner, eye shadow, and mascara while he thrashed wildly. She reached for the bright pink blush and he went crazy. He bit my arm and I screamed out. Her eyes widened and she glanced at me fearfully. I rolled our brother over and pulled his hair to make him raise his face. She carefully rubbed the blush on his cheeks and I rolled off. He jumped up to run to the mirror before spinning back to me.
“This isn’t funny!”
He started rubbing it and all it did was smear. I burst out laughing as did Priscilla. He pushed past us angrily to storm out of the room. I winked at her.
“Are you ready to torment Osprey?”
Her eyes lit up. “Oh, yes.”
“Let’s go get Aunt Scarlett.”
We hurried downstairs to wait outside for Morgan and Scarlett. As soon as we saw them, I raced down to her. I took her hand and began to pull her to my room.
“Come on, Auntie. I want to do makeup and watch movies and paint our nails.”
She smiled. “I don’t like makeup, Lena.”
“Oh, come on. Have fun with us.”
Osprey growled when I tugged her past him.
“Where are you taking her?” he asked.
“To do makeup and girl stuff.”
“Can I come?”
I paused to look at Priscilla. I could see the eagerness in her eyes. He had fallen into our hands so perfectly. I turned slowly to look at him before scoffing.
“No.”
“Come on, Ellie. I’ll let you do my makeup and paint my nails, too.”
I tilted my head to pretend to ponder his offer but I was really thinking what shade of bronzer to use on him. I sighed.
“I guess. But I want to take pictures.”
He hurried up the stairs to us. “Fine, fine. Whatever. As long as I get to come.”
He took Scarlett’s hand and walked by her side the rest of the way to my room. I silently high-fived Priscila again behind his back.
‘Let’s do a lot of pink,’ she linked.
I nodded, grinning. ‘Let’s see if we can get him into a dress.’
She nodded. ‘A floofy one.’
‘I so knew you were my favorite!’
She glanced up the stairs before leaning close. “Next time, I say we dress her up real pretty and make him jealous.”
I grinned. “Now there’s an idea. He’d really go crazy.”
She nodded eagerly. “He might kill someone.”
I giggled. “Let’s hope not! I think our dads would be really mad then.”
She rolled her eyes. “Oh, yeah. Them!”
I giggled again. She was so bad sometimes that I had to wonder where she learned it from and then I remembered. It was me. I taught her.
