Chapter 13 Chapter Thirteen
Chapter 13 Chapter Thirteen
We lay there so long, I actually fall asleep. Not my normal restless sleep for the first time in a year and a half I sleep. A true deep, restful sleep. The kind that makes you feel rejuvenated when you wake up.
Around six thirty in the morning, I am startled awake. I gasp, sitting up as I look around the room. I swear I heard someone or something in the room, but I don't see anyone. Brad is still sound asleep.
Maybe it was just a nightmare, it wouldn't be the first one I've had. It just felt so real, it felt like someone was in the room watching me, watching us. Hopefully I am just being paranoid. I hope it was just a very realistic nightmare.
No matter what it was, I am not going to be able to fall back asleep. I carefully climb off of the bed, making sure I don't wake Brad. Just because I can't sleep, doesn't mean he shouldn't.
I make my way to our closet and pull out one of Brad's T-shirts. It falls about mid thigh on me. I start a pot of coffee, and make some breakfast. After Brad wakes up I will take a shower. I don't want to leave him sleeping alone. He needs to be awake, just in case the worst was to happen.
About twenty minutes later, Brad strolls into the kitchen wearing a pair of shorts. He rubs his eyes with the back of his hand. "Good morning love." I say smiling at him. "Breakfast just got done. Sit down and I will make you a plate."
Brad smiles at me. "Good morning baby. Thank you for cooking."
I make him a plate, nothing fancy. Just some eggs, toast and bacon. "You're welcome." I say setting the plate down in front of him. I kiss his cheek and sit down in the chair next to him.
We eat in silence, but it's the kind of comfortable silence that comes from being around someone you love for a long time. After breakfast Brad helps me clean up the kitchen and I take my shower. Washing away the mixture of our juices that dried on my inner thighs.
I take a quick shower, still not one hundred percent sure my nightmare was just a nightmare. It really felt like someone was standing there in the room with us. I have had a lot of nightmares and none of them have ever felt that real.
Brad takes his shower after me, and we settle on the couch. Our day is spent watching movies, snuggling and planning what we are going to do for the week.
Most of my day was spent trying to convince Brad to get out of the apartment more often. He says just because last night went well doesn't mean every time we go out will be like that. I will find a way to convince him that life outside of this apartment is better than staying in the apartment all the time.
We have to figure out a way to start being normal again. Staying trapped inside is not normal. That argument didn't work on Brad either, but I will eventually get him on board with my plans.
One long, boring week passes by. Still no luck with my plan to get Brad out of the apartment. The only good thing that has happened is the rebirth of my sex life. Something I definitely wasn't expecting, but I'm not complaining about either. Brad has given me more orgasms over the past week, than I had in a whole year with my husband.
"Come on seriously you can't tell me, staying in this apartment all the time is all you want to do for the rest of your life?" I ask, crossing my hands over my chest.
Brad chuckles. "No, not for the rest of my life."
"Then why don't you want to come out with me again? You know you had fun last week. Let's go again. I am going absolutely stir crazy around here, I have never been a homebody. We are finally safe, let's go out and have fun. Please Brad. For me." I say pleading with Brad. I can't stay in this apartment all the time anymore. A run to the grocery store, here and there is not enough anymore.
Brad sighs. "Baby, I had fun. I just don't know if I feel like going out again."
I frown. "Okay. We will find something to do around here. Maybe there's a new movie or something we can watch." I give him a small smile and try not to sound too disappointed but it's hard. I really thought I could convince him to go out with me.
Brad takes my hand in his. "Just because I don't want to go, doesn't mean you can't go by yourself baby. I know you can take care of yourself and I am always only a call away if something happens. You should go have fun. Have a drink, go dancing, talk to some people."
"I'm not going to go without you love. That wouldn't be fun at all."
Brad chuckles. "Who knows baby, maybe you'll find some sexy stranger to dance with. Maybe that mystery man will be there again. He was hot." Brad winks at me and I feel my cheeks heat up.
Why is he bringing up Mateo? Has he been reading my mind? Over the past week since the night I met him, Mateo has been on my mind more times than I care to admit. I know him from somewhere, I have to know him. His eyes were just so familiar.
"I highly doubt he would be there." I say, rolling my eyes.
Brad laughs. "You want him to be there, don't you?"
My eyes widen, and my voice raises, a clear indication that I'm lying. Hopefully he doesn't notice though. "What? No! Why would I want him to be there?"
Brad narrows his eyes at me and puts his hand on his hip. “Because baby girl he is hot, and he was clearly interested in you. We both know if our situation was different, you would have at least let him buy you a drink or something.”
“I don’t need anyone to buy me drinks or anything. I have you.” I say, grabbing his hand and giving him a sweet smile.
