CHAPTER 8

Imelda's Pov

Just then, Irene was brought in bound in both hands and legs. Then Xavier instructed them to leave her reclining on the cold hard floor.

"I'll advise you to start talking even before you're told." Alpha Xavier warned sternly as he glared at Irene.

She just sobbed and remained mute and that fueled Alpha Xavier's anger the more. I had never seen Alpha Xavier before so it seemed really frightening.

Nothing was falling in place, it was all scattered and I needed a detailed explanation but seeing Alpha Xavier ask for some answers from Irene, it only meant that he didn't even understand himself.

Alpha Xavier, out of anger, grabbed Irene by the hair and jerked her face up but immediately left her hair when he looked at her eyes.

Her eye color was bloody red yet they looked so hypnotizing, then she smiled weirdly and said.

"Fire is coming!." She started and disappeared into thin air.

Almost at the same time, Irene walked into the room.

"Oh goodness, Alpha Xavier!! I've been looking everywhere for you. " She said with a worried expression.

I and Alpha Xavier exchanged knowing looks as we both looked at her, wondering what just happened.

" Why are you staring at me like that?. " She asked in confusion.

" Where have you been, Irene?. " Xavier questioned as this was so voluminous for us to contain. I was as confused as he is.

"Outside!! Fighting the intruders as I should. I've been looking for you since midnight to send word that Alpha Blake is behind the attack." She explained.

" Okay......You may leave us." He excused her as a volcano was erupting in his head.

As soon as she left the room, he went to the door and locked the door with its bolt.

" What just happened?." I asked, I was the first to break the silence as I don't remember when Irene suddenly became a twin.

"I'm as confused as you are, love." He answered perspiring.

Love!! That was the first thing I heard before hearing every other thing he said.

" Come here. " I beckoned him to come join me on the bed which he did. I wonder where I'm getting all this courage from.

When he sat down, I placed his head on my lap and patted his head hoping to sooth and calm him down for a while.

I could feel how worried and confused he was and I wouldn't have any of it bothering him, we were going to crack this hard nut together.

"It's okay, we're going to solve this together okay?." I said giving him a warm smile which he returned.

"Okay." He said weakly as he flashed me a warm smile.

"Hope your body doesn't hurt much anymore?." He asked and I replied in the affirmative.

"I'm thinking of visiting Alpha Blake today." He suddenly announced and It was my turn to stand up abruptly from the bed.

"What for? We just had an attack from him at midnight and then you want to go a little visit to him?." I yelled in frustration.

Alpha Blake's issue was really getting on my nerves.

"Why would you go to see him? I thought we signed a truce that they agreed to? So why did they break it first? Why did he break it?." I yelled and Alpha Xavier held me as he patted my head soothingly.

Just then, a knock came on the door.

"Who is it?." We both asked unanimously.

"It's the gate guard." The voice replied with respect behind it.

"Come in." Alpha Xavier ordered and the door slightly opened while the guard came in.

"A woman by the name, Alpha Lena is here to see you." He announced gesturing towards me.

That was my mum!!!! Now I'll start getting some answers.

"Let her in and bring her here." Alpha Xavier said as he knew that she was my mum.

Few minutes later, mum entered the room with some group of men which I presumed to be her guards.

"Mum....". I called and trailed off as I was at a loss for words.

"Imelda.." she also called and trailed off as tears appeared in her eyes.

"I've missed you so much, but I guess you've grown far more than I thought. You're now a woman.... Oh my sweet little girl. " Mum said as the tears gushed out.

" I've missed you too, mum. " I confessed and rushed into her embrace.

After a few minutes of the hug, I broke free and cleared my throat.

" You're now an Alpha, mum?." I questioned as the surprise still hit me.

"Yes, I'm now Alpha Lena of one of the greatest lycan groups." She announced and smiled like she was satisfied with herself.

"Now, how are you doing?." She asked, peering at me.

"Well, I'm alive which is a good thing so I guess I'm doing quite well though I'm still recovering from battle wounds." I stared and winked at her.

"Battle wounds????." She questioned with a surprised look on her face. Then she exchanged knowing glances with her guards.

"Yes, we got a surprise midnight attack from Alpha Blake at midnight today." I blared and she stared at me in surprise.

" I thought a truce or a treaty was signed.?. " She asked.

" Yes, a truce was signed... Wait, how did you know about that....because I can remember vividly that I haven't told you anything yet. " I questioned her suspiciously.

" Well, I have my ways. I have people working in the shadows so knowing that ain't much of a big deal for me. " She said and smiled again.

I wondered if I should tell her about Irene and all the weird experiences backing up this attack, but as I tended to tell her, Xavier immediately mindlinked me, warning me against it as at this point, there was none else we could believe apart from us.

"Wow! That's impressive mom." I complimented and she chuckled a bit.

Almost immediately, her personal guard came in and reported:

"Alpha Desmond is on his way here. He's at the gate now!."
