CHAPTER ELEVEN

Alpha Xavier's Pov

I couldn't quite comprehend what was happening but I know something strange is going on.

The reason I haven't taken any action on Irene yet is because I'm cent percent sure she isn't a witch.

If she is, I would have known a long time ago even before Imelda came into my pack.

I thought witches were long gone or maybe never existed.

"Xavier, as far as I know those ladies in black circling Imelda were witches."

These were the words of Imelda's mom.

Of course I knew thty were witches but I can't help but wonder what they wanted Imelda for or was that also the plan of Alpha Blake? If that's it then he just started what he can't end because I ain't letting Imelda off to that old man.

"Xavier, are you okay?" Imelda asked me with a low tone filled with concern and I could see the regrets in her eyes.

"I'm sorry all these are happening." She said through the mind link. I could detect the sorrow in her voice.

" You didn't do anything and it's my duty to protect you and out pack." I assured her.

I know we would go through this together.

I was beginning to doubt many people when it comes to Imelda's safety.

"Before Xavier could trace your scent, I had to work in the shadows to destroy the spell that masked your scent."

I remembered her mom vividly saying this a few minutes ago when Imelda asked her mom how she knew about what was going on.

How was she able to know and dig about that if she isn't a one of the Alpha baroness?

She must be a very strong, amiable and confident woman but that doesn't clear the fact that I don't trust her, I don't care if she's Imelda's mom after all her own father what's her to be mated to someone twice his age. You never know what is going on in everyone's mind so I prevention is better than cure.

"You look angry." Imelda mindlinked me again and said.

"Of course I am." I answered in a low yet firm voice.

"I see…" she muttered.

Come to think of it, she has been mindlinking me almost the whole day.

"What's wrong? Is there anything you want to tell me?" I asked her in a puzzle.

" Nothing." She replied.

Yeah that's it, something is wrong.

" You feel what I feel right." I asked her.

" Yes I do. I'm scared of mom… I don't know If I should trust her, I'm just scared." She replied almost wailing.

" It's fine." I consoled her.

"Alpha Xavier, there's something I have to discuss with you." Irene's voice came as her head popped out of the door.

She keeps appearing at the wrong time like she was a monitoring spirit.

This is exactly what I was talking about…Irene is getting on my nerves now.

I'm beginning to lose my patients with her.

"I don't know if —"

"Leave"!!!!

I didn't allow her finish as I wasn't ready toisten to the rubbish she was going to say.

Irene jerked backwards and stared at me with utter disbelief and shock and exited the room quietly.

Imelda seems to be more shocked than anyone else.

"I need to use the bathroom now " Imelda said.

I wanted to stop her but then I allowed her because I know she wouldn't listen to me.

I think I'm overreacting today but who wouldn't after all that is happening.

When Imelda left the room, Alpha Lena, her mother, turned to look at me with a sharp gaze.

"Like I said earlier, I have ways of dealing with any kind of problem, I have my minions whonwork I'm the shadows and so I'm not someone you don't know. I'm as real and just as you are just that I have intellectual working strategies. You can also build yours and don't doubt others!!" Alpha Lena said her sentences fiercely.

" I'm not doubting you!!!! I'm weary of you!!!!" I yelled.

She might be Imelda's mom, but she doesn't have the right to tell me how to survive in my working strategies, besides which mother abandons her child and comes back in the middle of a fierce war to help her out?

How did she know Imelda was involved in the war?

If I ask her, the next thing she would say is, "I have people working in the shadows for me."

"Why and how did you only appear in the year after many years of being missing?" I asked her curiously.

"Like I said, I have my ways." She responded.

I knew it! I just know this would be her response.

"I know you're here for a reason and you're hiding your true nature but I swear, if you ever think of taking Imelda anywhere or hurting us in any way, I would deal with you and the so-called fools working in the shadows for you." I told her bluntly.

She was slightly surprised and I was sure of that.

"What are you talking about? I don't understand." She put forth.

" You would never understand would you? You and I know you're not clean here!" I uttered.

Flaring up, she voiced, " Are you trying to frame me up or what? What exactly do you mean? mind you, Imelda Is my daughter and I want the best for her." She refuted.

" Says a mother who isn't real with her daughter." I replied to her nonchalantly.

I watched as she fumed in anger.

" Alpha Xavier, I would suggest you don't push me." She warned sternly but of course I'm not scared of her not even a bit.

" I would torment you till you come clean and be true to everyone, stop forcing yourself to be who you are not. I know you're putting up an act so you can get Imelda but don't let me find out about it, if you are working in shadow's I advise you to work hard." I stated.

I walked out of the room leaving Imelda's mom, Alpha Lena. Walking towards the gamma's quarters, I saw something I never thought would ever happen in my existence.
