Chapter 138

Chapter 138
Sienna's pov

The pain was unbearable; I could feel the blade slicing through my palm.

Even the slightest movement left me speechless.

Just then, the villa's front door burst open, and several people rushed in.

I couldn't focus on who they were; the pain was all-consuming.

"What the hell are you doing?"

That voice... I hadn't heard it since I left the research institute.

Eleanor? How did she get here?

"Elena! You..."

The knife was yanked out of my palm and then pressed against my throat.

Everything happened so fast that, in an instant, I became the hostage.

My palm, where I'd been stabbed, was wet, and I could faintly smell the blood.

My vision was a bit blurry, but I could still make out the people who had come in.

Harrison , Zach, Eleanor and a few others I didn't recognize—probably guests invited to the party.

Why did they suddenly come to the villa?

"Well, you've all seen it, so there's no point in me denying it. Let me go, or I'll kill her."

Elena's attitude seemed to have changed.

Harrison was here too; shouldn't I be asking him for help?

But I couldn't see Harrison 's expression clearly.

He was probably as calm as ever.

So this was the setup Zach had mentioned, orchestrated by Harrison .

Harrison brought some people, but not all the guests.

The research institute members were credible witnesses.

They saw Elena attacking me and trying to kill me.

Eleanor looked shocked. "Weren't you abroad? Why are you at the Blackwood Villa?"

"You should ask Harrison that. How could he bear to send me away? I was his first love, the woman he loved for years."

But Elena's voice carried a hint of self-mockery and a touch of madness on the verge of collapse.

"Harrison , who do you choose—me or her?"

Elena suddenly pressed the knife harder. "Orlet me ask you this, are you tired of this act?"

She seemed to have known everything all along.

Thinking back over the past few months, I had been constantly doubting Harrison 's feelings for me, suspecting that the real person in his heart was Elena.

Why was Elena so sure that Harrison was acting?

Did she, like me, not trust him?

Today, Harrison admitted frankly. "When did you find out?"

Elena murmured, "I've always known. You never loved me. From the moment you talked about our first meeting, I knew. You mistook me for someone else, and I wanted to leave you."

Harrison tried to approach. "So back then, you left me without hesitation, without saying a word."

"Stand back. If you take one more step, I will kill her!" Elena shouted.

The sharp blade had already cut my skin. If I struggled now, Elena would really kill me.

I closed my eyes, trying to conserve my strength, but the loss of blood made me increasingly dizzy.

"Later, it was you who came back to me."

Harrison stopped about five feet away, giving me a reassuring smile.

"Of course, because you married Sienna . I hated her the most! She took away the family that should have been mine, so I wanted to destroy hers!"

Whose fault was all this?

Victor's or Harrison 's?

I hated Classic for tearing apart my happy family, and Elena naturally hated me.

Why did we both choose not to target Victor?

He was the one who deserved it the most.

"So, is that why you helped others against me?" Harrison 's voice was icy.

"The encounter abroad—you orchestrated it, didn't you? Just to help Julian against me?"

"I had no choice!" Elena screamed, her voice filled with despair. "If I didn't help him, how could I have met you by chance—how could I have taken you back? I knew you and Sienna were having problems, and I tried to contact you, but you refused to divorce her and refused to reconcile with me. What could I do?! Only by seeing you did I have a chance!"

She looked like someone who had suffered deeply in love.

I almost believed her.

After all, in my eyes, Elena did love Harrison deeply.

But hadn't she already teamed up with Julian?

Then what did Julian's deliberate approach to me mean?

"You already have someone else's child, and now you're telling me this to defend yourself?" Harrison said calmly. "Do you really think I can't find out? After you went abroad—who you were with, what you did, should I list them all?"

Wasn't Adrian Harrison 's son?

I was completely confused.

At this moment, Elena was emotionally collapsing, and I might have a chance to escape.

"But you didn't know at the time; Otherwise, you wouldn't have believed Sienna 's fake pregnancy and married her. You found out much later, didn't you?" Elena sneered. "You misunderstood each other for five years. Seeing you pretend to love me while watching Sienna suffer has finally brought me some satisfaction."

I tried to push her hand away, but the knife still cut me.

I clutched my wound and rushed towards Harrison .

He was already prepared to support me.

But I just brushed past him and went to Eleanor.

"Look at this..."

My hand was covered in blood, and I could only rely on her to take care of it.

Eleanor was here for the party, so she didn't have her medical kit. She could only call out to Zach, "Quick, get some gauze!"

The villa naturally had such supplies.

"That's fine. I'm tired of pretending anyway. You don't love me, and continuing is pointless. I don't want to see you considering everything for Sienna anymore."

After sitting down, I almost fell asleep.

I couldn't hear what Elena said last.

The excessive blood loss made it impossible to keep my eyes open.

Was this Harrison 's way of proving my innocence?

It was all Elena's doing. With the evidence submitted, I wouldn't be a murderer.

In fact, Elena was the one who wanted to kill me.

But why did I still feel sad?

Neither Elena nor I won; we both lost ourselves for Harrison .

After today, could I accept Harrison without any resentment?

It was impossible.

His manipulation and harm were too much.

When I woke up, it was nighttime.

The familiar surroundings reminded me that I was at Eleanor's research institute.

I remembered Alexander had also been a researcher here.

"You're awake, thank goodness!"

But standing by my bed was a man.

I recognized him, Elias, Eleanor's mentor.

"Sienna , try moving your right hand."

Elias didn't seem happy about my waking up; his brow was furrowed tightly.

"The nerves in your right palm are damaged. I need to know how you feel."

Nerve damage?

I instinctively asked, "What does that mean?"
