Chapter 100 Some People Are Missed Forever

Chapter 100 Some People Are Missed Forever

Olivia got a call from Violette and spilled the beans, telling her everything and making Violette super emotional.

"This is ridiculous! I thought he was going to marry Gwyneth, but he's just a jerk! No way, I have to confront him!" Violette, being a top lawyer, couldn't stand her daughter being treated like this.

Olivia didn't want Violette to come over now because Gwyneth wasn't in great shape.

"Violette, since this has already blown up, it's better to keep it low-key. Otherwise, it won't be good for Gwyneth's reputation." Olivia had made a big fuss about Kieran's engagement to let everyone know he had deceived Gwyneth.

That was why everyone was criticizing Kieran. Olivia wasn't afraid of offending him; she was ready to fight for Gwyneth, so offending Kieran was no big deal.

"I get it, Olivia. Can you convince Gwyneth to transfer out of the Special Operations Unit?" Violette was almost begging because she knew Gwyneth would refuse if she brought it up herself.

"Violette, let Gwyneth think about it herself, let's not push her," Olivia said.

Violette nodded, hung up, and then made an international call. When it connected, Violette started yelling.

""What's the point of your high position if Gwyneth is being bullied and I can't rely on you? How could I have been so blind to marry a man like you?" After saying that, Violette hung up and started crying in the car.

On the other end, it was still morning. Gwyneth's dad, Frank Martinez, was about to enter a meeting room when he got scolded. Realizing Gwyneth was being bullied, Frank didn't go in directly but made a phone call.

The next morning, Olivia still went to training on time, but she didn't see Gwyneth in the cafeteria. She ate alone until a few colleagues came over and sat next to her.

"Ms. Smith, is Gwyneth okay?" asked one of the colleagues close to Gwyneth.

"She's fine. Her injuries haven't healed yet, but she'll go back to the hospital for a check-up in a few days. Don't worry, my mom is here to take care of her."

As Olivia finished speaking, Kieran, holding a tray, paused.

Kieran wanted to ask about Gwyneth's condition but didn't dare to come over, so he just sat in the corner and ate.

Olivia ignored him. After eating, she went to the office to organize the training plan. Tomorrow, she had to train all the Special Operations Unit personnel and discuss a few cases, so she skipped the afternoon special training to organize her lecture notes.

When Autumn arrived at the apartment that Olivia and Gwyneth had just bought, she came with bags in hand. Although she was mentally prepared, she was still shocked by their decision to buy a house.

She had to admit, the location was great, and the decoration was high-end. The entrance had a password lock, and Olivia had given Autumn the code, so she easily got in.

But seeing the scene inside, Autumn felt a bit helpless.

"I knew it, neither of you is reliable. Such a nice big house, and it's so messy!"

"Autumn, you're here!" Gwyneth cried when she saw Autumn, and Autumn, feeling heartbroken, hugged Gwyneth and comforted her softly.

Knowing that Autumn had arrived, Olivia couldn't go back, so she made a phone call.

"I hired cleaners to organize things. Just let them clean the kitchen and bathroom first so we can cook. The rest can be done later!" Olivia said.

Autumn snorted, "You young folks just think money grows on trees."

But Olivia was firm about hiring cleaners for the housework.

"Over two thousand square feet. It takes three people a whole day to clean and disinfect. Can you handle it? Hiring someone costs a thousand bucks, but if you hurt your back and end up in the hospital, that's three grand. Plus, it creates jobs and gives others a chance to earn money. Isn't that good?"

Autumn couldn't argue with Olivia. After hanging up, she kept muttering, while Gwyneth laughed beside her.

"Alright, Autumn, you can't win against Olivia. Actually, I think she's right. I can't do housework, and she doesn't have time. We can't live in a messy place, so this is the best solution."

Well, Olivia had already paid, so what could Autumn do?

But the cleaners did a really good job, and Autumn was very satisfied. In the evening, she made a big meal, which made Gwyneth very happy.

"Autumn, you're my savior!"

Autumn looked at Gwyneth, feeling a bit sad.

"Gwyneth, transfer back to Silverlight City. You can work with Olivia and come home every day to eat my cooking!" Autumn said, and Gwyneth paused while eating.

Actually, Gwyneth really liked being in the Special Operations Unit, and it wasn't just because of Kieran. She was reluctant to leave.

But if she stayed, facing Kieran every day would be very awkward.

"I'll think about it!"

"Think about it, and let Ivan know when you've decided. He'll help you!"

The situation between Gwyneth and Kieran had a big impact in the Special Operations Unit, especially on Kieran, whose reputation took a hit. His supervisor, Victor Kim, was so angry that he kicked Kieran.

"Kieran, you're amazing. You're not famous for your work, but for deceiving girls. I thought you were a responsible man, but you're just a coward! What have you turned my good police team into?"

Kieran didn't dodge the kick because he felt he deserved it.

"Mr. Kim, I want to apply for a transfer out of the Special Operations Unit!"

Transfer? Victor's face changed immediately. "No way, running away at the first sign of trouble, Kieran, are you still a man?"

"Mr. Kim, it's not that I want to run away. I'm afraid Gwyneth will feel uncomfortable. It's bad for her reputation, and you know my dad, he won't compromise. It will eventually blow up here, and the situation will get worse."

Victor knew what kind of person Glenn was, so he got even angrier.

"Previously, Henry applied for a few people to help with a major case. I can transfer you there for a few months, but you must come back," Victor said, and Kieran nodded. Anyway, he had to ensure Gwyneth wouldn't be harassed.

Henry, upon hearing the news, looked down on Kieran.

"No wonder Olivia called you a jerk. Running away at the first sign of trouble, Kieran, you really are a jerk!"

"Henry, you have the nerve to talk about me? Are you any better? Don't think I don't know, your dad doesn't want you to marry Olivia!"

At the mention of Holden, Henry's face darkened. "I have my own mind and won't just do whatever my father says. Kieran, you need to understand, some people, once they're gone, they're gone for good."
