I felt my husband’s hand firm on my shoulder as l reached for my wine. “ I think you have had enough Amber. “, His voice was low yet loud enough for everyone to hear . Ignoring his words , blatantly disrespecting him in front of his subordinates l reached for it and drained my glass of wine . Being in the military and as a strict millitary family , l could see the fear in the eyes of the subordinates at my action .

Though they were all afraid , I hadn’t gotten started . This was just the beginning . He had been working ridiculous hours for weeks , months even now the first we were to have the night alone together , he invited these people in my house . I was at the end of my thread and refused to play the obedient wife .

In th next breath , l turned to the maid gesturing for a refill , looking down to the floor she obeyed my command and refilled the flute . At that Mark my husband took his seat next to me with a frustrated sigh and pointed look having been not ignored. His fingers gripped the edge of the table turning white as he visibly tried to calm and curve his emotions .

Normally l would submit to any desire of him especially in front of others but tonight I wasn’t ready to do it . I wanted to taunt , to antagonize him , God I wanted to destroy his cool façade . I wanted everyone to watch as I did it . His stern face was still pointed in my direction and l couldn’t help it so I inwardly curled my lips trying to hold back the giggle as my hand covered my mouth .

I made it like l wanted to cough . The muscles under his suit were all pulled taut , he was seated upright staring at me. Reaching over , l placed my alcohol cooled hand on his knee under the table . A little smirk played on my face as I bit my lower lip . Henry my husband’s direct underling soon spoke while trying to break the tense atmosphere evident at the table as all parties held up their tongues .

“ Colonel so do we have a training tomorrow morning at 06:00?”, He asked . “ Yes “, My eyes instantly darkened narrowing on my husband as l pulled my hand quickly from his knee . This wasn’t funny anymore . Yes he was business man and millitary was important but so l was . Our marriage .

Dinner wasn’t served yet and I now didn’t care . Noticing my irritation , his eyes caught mine and his lips smirked at me . I could not sit through this . He was perhaps going to work through out the weekend . “ It’s gonna be training , from tomorrow , Sunday and on wards “,He continued and at that l felt bursting with anger . Reaching forward l reached for the glass and drained once again before turning to the gentlemen at the table .

I knew it that they had their gazes at me and l wasn’t going to change my place . “ Excuse me gentleman am currently not feeling well ….. excuse me , have a pleasant night “,l said with a smile before I turned to Mark my husband . “ Mark “, moving closer l lent down whispering so he could only hear .

“. Whenever you decide you need a wife again , you may need to find a new one “, l angrily spoke out . I was hurt , l was angry spiteful as hell . How dare he lie and keep things from me . This all started as a bit of fun so I could demonstrate how irritated l was with him , so he could understand and be a little humiliated in front of his subordinates but it was now unbearable .

After speaking l stood back to my full height and l continued to the door . However before I could reach the dining door , his hand immediately caught my wrist . Looking back l watched his subordinates eyes all on us . He was infuriated though he didn’t move from his seat . Without any word spoken , l pulled my wrist from his grip with force then l continued out of the door and headed to the kitchen .

I was so mad.. So mad . What was he even thinking , l really couldn’t bring myself to care anymore . I was so sick of sitting at home waiting for him. As l touched the kitchen counter , l turned my head and l saw Mark striding in haste out of the dining room . His eyes capturing mine , l saw the faces of fear behind him as the dining door swung closed .

God only knows what he did to make that noise . With the closed door , the gasps also sounding from his subordinates cut shot. Everyone was quite scared of him . He would relish in the knowledge his reputation was something more important to him. He continued marching towards me with his jaws clenched .

With in few minutes , his hand researched for my throat and as his other hand slid down my back to hold me in place . “ Don’t…. Mark am serious .. am over this , am done with this go back to your subordinates , am not going to play house with you anymore , you didn’t even have the decency to tell me where you were working this weekend and then on our first night you called your friends here “,l shook my head as I tried to remove his hand from my throat .

Maids were in the kitchen but l didn’t care . At my words Mark looked at me with his jaws moving with anger . He was trying to hold in the emotions that were just about to bubble over. Henry soon popped his head out of the room and watched us with wide eyes. Turning back to see him ,Mark exhaled audibly before pushing me through more in to the kitchen . “ Get out “. He all but roared at the maids in the kitchen withb his grip slightly tightening . They all jumped before running from the room while focusing on us. .
