Cars had lined up our compound and I was ushered into mine with Cassandra as my chief bridesmaid. She looked gorgeous as well.
Mum had returned my phone to me and that was when I was able to speak with Angel. We both shared a collective gasp feeling huge relieve now that we could talk to each other.
"My love, I'm so sorry. Mum and the girls wouldn't let me speak with you." I said over the phone but Angel released a deep sigh instead.
"I just want to see you Thea. I need to see you so badly. Right now...." His voice was deep and full of desperation and I understood him quite well.
"I know my love and me too. I'm on my way okay?" I said and heard Cassandra chuckle.
We finally arrived at the church and my heart kept beating so loudly against my chest.
It was really happening. I was about to be married and to my true love. I couldn't explain the overflowing joy I felt on this day.
It was truly the happiest day of my life.
Scott held my hand as he got ready to lead me into the church.
We stood outside the church gate and I could hear instruments being played. It was our favourite song, "I get to love you" by Ruella. We wanted it to be our special song on this day because it spoke deeply to our heart and soul and of our experience.
I took a deep breath and turned to look at Scott.
"Thank you, Scott." I said taking his hand. He had a huge smile on his face.
"Thank you, Thea, for making my son the man he is today. I can never thank you enough." He said rubbing his hand slightly above mine. I could see the gratitude in his eyes and I was glad that I could make him happy too.
"It's time," A voice called and soon the church gates opened. My heart dipped and began beating fast. My heart was filled with so much emotion, it overwhelmed me. The instrumental had smoothly transitioned to the full music.
With Scott's lead, I began to walk in, acknowledging everyone present.
Everyone was here, everyone I cared to see.
Florentine and Carl, Caspian with Camila already beside him and Casimir in her hand. Mum, beaming the most motherly kind of smile at me. Angels uncle, his wife and their son who seemed so happy as the page boy.
My little bride was one of the kids of our staff who had requested that her daughter be my little bride. I was more than honored to have this little princess do it.
I saw Knight behind Angel and smiled back at him then, my gaze fell and stayed focused on Angel as I walked each step with the music sinking into my soul, getting closer to Angel
I get to love you, it's the best thing I'll ever do'
The words dwelled in my heart and now I was finally before Angel. His eyes were perfectly glued on mine, entrapping me in the spell of love all over again.
I couldn't look away, not even if it meant catching my breath because Angel stole every breath from me.
Angel looked at me like I was the only one existing in his world right now. Like we were the only ones in here.
He took a step and then another towards me. He was reaching out to me, he wanted to touch him and I wanted it too. The sparks that flowed through me just from him taking two steps towards me was intense.
Knight had touched him bringing him back to reality so that he didn't get any closer to me.
Scott handed me over, and I stood before Angel, the way he looked at me was full of affection.
The priest started the service and all the while it was just Angel for me.
Everything went silent and he was the only one I could see, the only one existing in my world right now.
Finally, the priest got down to the vow and we were allowed to use our personal vows.
I was to go first, it was what Angel and I agreed on.
I took a deep breath as I stared deeply into Angel's eyes. I had my vows by heart because it came from my heart, from the deepest part of my soul.
My lips parted to speak and just then I saw Angel's lips curved slowly into a smile that touched me in a way I couldn't explain, His lips parted and I watched intently as he mouthed the words 'I love you.' I let out a shaky sigh and shut my eyes and a tear spilled down my cheek.
Cassie was quick to use a handkerchief on me.
I raised my gaze to look at Angel again and I smiled then spread my lips to mouth the words back to him. 'I love you.'
His smile was as beautiful as heaven even though I had not been there but it was the best thing I could use to describe how beautiful his smile was.
"It's okay, take your time." The priest said to me after noticing me tear up and I nodded.
"It's fine, I'm ready." I said and took a deep breath then I started.
"There's so much I wish to say, but we are in a church, and Father," I said briefly glancing at the priest who was all smiles. "... you wouldn't want to hear them." I said and everyone let out a soft laugh. " Angel," I resumed. " I don't want to know what it's like to be without you ever." I paused reflecting briefly on my words and letting it sink into him. " I don't want to taste it, not even a hint.
We've come a long way, so much ugliness, bittersweet experiences, so many out-of-this-world joyful moments, but with you through this journey, it's an adventure I'm grateful to have walked through with you.
I want to be your wife, Angel. There's no one out there who could have won my heart the way you did.
In my past, I wanted to be free, live life on my terms, I thought that was freedom but it was a lie I told myself but I don't want that anymore, because the joy I have from being your soulmate is unimaginable." My breath hitched and tears spilled down more on my cheeks as memories of everything we've been through replayed in my mind.
"You're my soulmate, Angel.
I want to be the mother of your kids. I want to watch you father them and love them. I want us to grow a healthy, peaceful, and loving family together.
You're the very air I breathe, Angel. Everything I'm made of can attest to the truth that in my sleep, in my state of awareness, you're in every detail of my life. You're a part of every tiny bit of me.
I'll always choose you. Forever.
I love you more than you can imagine, and I'll never take this privilege for granted. I pray the Lord gives me the grace to show my words even greater in actions."
I poured out my heart in my vows but even those words were just a glimpse to how I truly felt and all the things I wished I could say.
Applause resounded from our guests and Angel's eyes glistened with tears.
Finally, I thought he wouldn't cry. I laughed and he laughed. He dipped his head as if preparing himself to say his vows without tearing up. I watched and waited patiently for him and then it was time....
