Chapter 48 Recovery Plan, Follow It

Chapter 48 Recovery Plan, Follow It

Ryan's heartbroken expression looked like a joke to Raymond. He said coldly, "What about Cordelia? Will she get back together with you?"

At the mention of Cordelia, Ryan deflated and shook his head. "She didn't agree, but I believe where there's a will, there's a way. I'll win her over with my sincerity."

At this point, Ryan got excited again. "Uncle Raymond, you're so capable, why don't you give me some advice? How can I win Cordelia back?"

Raymond frowned. "Are you sure you want my advice?"

At these words, Ryan suddenly remembered that Raymond didn't even have a girlfriend yet. He shook his head disappointedly. "Never mind then."

He returned the money Raymond had given him, then left dejectedly. As for buying Cordelia's necklace before Ryan could, Raymond felt no guilt whatsoever.

In his view, Cordelia would never look back anyway. Besides, the current Ryan wasn't worthy of Cordelia at all. As for who was worthy...

At this thought, Raymond smiled.

He reached out and took the necklace from the drawer, holding it in his palm as he examined it carefully with slightly narrowed eyes. Indeed, this necklace truly lived up to its name.

Tears of the Stars—sparkling like teardrops, captivating.

Raymond gently stroked it, imagining the scene of Cordelia's slender neck adorned with this necklace.

With this thought, he took the necklace and left the hospital.

Starlight Heights.

Cordelia was on the phone. "This is twenty million dollars. Take it and distribute it among the families of those who died in Empire of Upheaval."

Asher Holden on the other end said, "Cordelia, you're so good to these people's families. If those people knew this in heaven, they would be deeply grateful to you."

Cordelia sighed. During her three years in Empire of Upheaval, she'd seen too many people lose their lives for no reason, including those who had helped her.

What a pity—when she escaped, she couldn't look after them. She wondered how those people were doing now.

"Any movement from Empire of Upheaval?"

Hearing Cordelia's question, Asher quickly said, "I was just about to tell you. I heard those people are searching everywhere for your whereabouts. Be careful, don't let anyone track you down."

When Cordelia left, she had killed the leader of a gang in Empire of Upheaval, which was why those people were desperately searching for her.

Cordelia didn't take these matters to heart at all. She didn't believe those people would dare show up in Harborview City. After all, Harborview City wasn't like Empire of Upheaval where they could do whatever they wanted.

"Alright, I'll be careful. Contact me if anything comes up."

Cordelia hung up casually. Not long after, she heard knocking at the door. Opening it, she found Raymond.

She blocked the doorway with her body, looking at Raymond with a slight frown. "Why is it you? What do you want?"

Raymond nodded, holding up medicine in his hand. "The medicine the doctor prescribed for you last time—you forgot to take it."

Cordelia's gaze traveled from the medicine in his hand up to his face. She got straight to the point. "Mr. Perez, I don't recall us being close enough for this."

Cordelia admitted that Raymond appealed to her in certain ways, but he was from the Perez family. She had no desire to get involved with anyone from the Perez family.

Hearing Cordelia's blunt words, Raymond's hand gripping the necklace box tightened. He shoved the necklace back into his pocket, then pushed the medicine forward. "If I remember correctly, I saved you last time. Has Ms. Fox already forgotten that life-saving favor?"

Cordelia suppressed the urge to roll her eyes and opened the door. "Please come in."

After Raymond entered and the door closed, neither of them noticed a figure putting away a camera and sneaking downstairs.

Soon, photos of their meeting were sent to Julie's phone.

Looking at the photos of them chatting happily, Julie stood up. That bitch Cordelia was actually trying to seduce Raymond?

She looked more carefully—yes, it was definitely Cordelia and Raymond.

At this thought, Julie's teeth itched with hatred. Good, that bitch actually went after Raymond!

What did she want? Just because Ryan didn't want her anymore, she turned to Raymond?

How shameless. Were all men dead? Did she have to keep clinging to the Perez family?

Julie angrily started to call Ryan to complain, but halfway through dialing, she suddenly stopped.

She couldn't let Cordelia off that easily. No, she had to make Raymond see Cordelia's true colors!

Raymond placed the medicine bag on the coffee table, his gaze unconsciously following Cordelia.

Cordelia turned to pour water. Her sleeve slid up a bit, revealing a light pink mark at her elbow. As a top surgeon, Raymond had seen too many external injuries. If he wasn't mistaken, this was the deepest wound on Cordelia's arm.

Cordelia brought over a glass of water and stood across from him without sitting down. Her attitude clearly suggested she wanted Raymond to leave quickly.

Raymond took the glass but didn't drink. He spoke up, "Ryan said you sold the necklace."

Cordelia's hand holding the water paused. She looked up at Raymond, her gaze somewhat scrutinizing. "Mr. Perez, speak plainly. I hate it when people beat around the bush."

Raymond met her eyes. Those eyes were so clear, without anything extra—not like Ryan's eyes full of entanglement and possessiveness, nor like the calculating looks from the Fox family when they looked at her. Just very calm, simply looking at her.

"The wound on your elbow—that cut damaged the fascial layer. Recovery period should be at least three months."

Raymond didn't respond to her words but continued unhurriedly, "But looking at your movements now, it seems you haven't fully recovered. You've developed functional impairment."

Cordelia instinctively tightened her grip on her sleeve. Ryan was right—she had clearly felt some pain in her arm when fighting.

But she still insisted stubbornly, "I know my own body."

"You don't." Raymond's tone was flat but left no room for argument. He pulled out a folded paper from his pocket, unfolded it and placed it on the coffee table. "Recovery plan. Follow it. Not difficult."

Cordelia didn't move but lowered her head to quickly scan the paper. The handwriting was cool and sharp, each stroke written extremely neatly. Medicine names, dosages, timing, dietary restrictions—even when to apply hot compresses and when to use cold ones were all clearly marked.

This wasn't written on the spot. It was prepared in advance. Which meant he had planned to give her this plan before coming. Delivering medicine was just an excuse.

Cordelia looked up at Raymond, her expression shifting.

"Mr. Perez, I have no relationship with you. Why are you doing this?"
