CHAPTER ELEVEN—We have a huge problem!
Freya Rose I awoke from my slumber but kept my eyes firmly shut as the events of last night began to flood my mind. Slowly but surely every touch, thought and feeling washed over me, making my heart race and cheeks redden. An arm slid across my tummy and pull me towards them, from the spark I felt when his fingers touched my skin, I knew it was Mason. He let out this gorgeous little groan as he stirred from his sleep. He nuzzled into my neck leaving tiny little kisses all over it. I giggled and squirmed when his kisses tickled my neck, but he just pulled me in tighter towards him. His bare chest was so hot on my skin and every bit of it sent sparks surging through me. He moved up my jawline then placed his tiny kisses all over my face. I giggled and wriggled some more, trying to get out of his strong grip. It was no use, so I slumped back onto the pillow and with a smile on my face let him finish his onslaught.
Finally, in seeing my surrender Mason stopped and pulled me on top of him. With us both still completely naked I could feel his member greeting me when it rested on my bare butt cheeks. I gazed into his gorgeous green eyes and without a word spoken we both knew what we wanted. While bent over him, he grabbed his member and gently guided it into me with his hand. We both moaned when I lowered myself onto it, making it sink deep inside of me. It didn't take long for us both to climax and I collapsed onto Mason's chest. Both panting away, he stroked my hair lovingly, while we calmed back down. Once our breathing was somewhat normal again, I kissed his soft lips and rolled off of him. I got off of the bed and headed towards the bathroom. After closing the bathroom door, I walked over to the toilet and sat down. My bladder was so tight it didn't want to let the pee go. After a minute or so my body finally let me relieve myself.
“Oh my God. That feels so good!” I accidentally said aloud.
I'd spoken a little louder than I had intended, but I didn't care, I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling. Mason cleared his throat, startling me a little. I shot my eyes open and saw him standing at the bathroom door with a massive grin on his face. I dropped my head into my hands completely mortified.
“Should I be worried that the toilet makes you scream louder than I can?”
He chuckled while stepping over to the shower to turn it on. I laughed into my hands while I finished my pee. I was getting more and more embarrassed as the pee shot out with each laugh, making a huge splash sound. Which in turn made me laugh harder causing the splashes to get even louder. Once I'd finally stopped peeing and laughing, I wiped and flushed then went to join Mason in the shower. As soon as I opened the glass door Mason grabbed my waist and yanked me into the shower. With a giggle, I placed my arms around his neck and gazed up into his eyes. He smiled down at me lovingly, then with both hands, swept my hair behind my ears. We silently stared into each other's eyes just soaking each other in.
“I can't believe how lucky I am to have found you, Freya. You make my life worth living and I can't ever imagine not loving you as much as I do right now.”
My heart pounded, and my eyes began to well up. I couldn't believe how much love he had for me, and with our hunter connection, he could share his feelings with me. Which was exactly what he did, and it was like I was seeing myself through his eyes. It was an odd experience, but I couldn't deny how much he cared for me, because I could feel it for myself. I jumped up into his waiting arms and wrapped my legs around him, then pressed my lips against his. I ran my fingers through the back of his hair and pulled his head slightly so that I could kiss him harder. He tilted his head to the side and opened up his soft lips giving my tongue access. Our kiss deepened and a moan escaped my mouth, he smiled against my lips then gently squeezed my ass. The kiss came to an end with a few pecks for good measure. I looked back into his eyes and whispered, “I love you, Mason. What did I do to deserve such an amazing Fennid?”
He smiled at me when I used our hunter connection to share my feelings with him.
“I am pretty amazing, aren't I?” He gloated. I chuckled and slapped him around the back of the head for being so cheeky. He laughed with me then lowered me to the floor. “Right, we best get you washed before Evan finishes making our breakfast,” he said as he reached out and grabbed the body wash and a mesh body pouf.
I had completely forgotten about Evan. Crap! That's going to be awkward, I thought to myself. Mason lathered up the pouf then began washing me. I would have usually objected and said something sarcastic like, ‘Mason, I can wash myself, you know.’ But my brain was elsewhere worrying about what I was going to say to Evan and panicking that what happened last night was going to make things super weird. Mason finished washing me down then he moved me under the water to soak my hair. Once wet enough he gently washed and conditioned my hair. It was a little odd, I mean Tristan had done this for me in the bathtub a few times, so you'd think I'd be used to it, but actually, it made me feel quite uncomfortable. But then again, Mason seemed to be enjoying it, so who was I to deny him doing something he enjoyed? I asked myself. I'm sure there will be lots of things in the relationship that I'll want to do that he doesn't, but he'll do it anyway, just for me.
Finally, both washed and squeaky-clean, Mason turned off the shower and got out. He wrapped a towel around his waist then brought two towels for me. The larger one, he stretched out for me, and I wrapped it around myself. He handed me the smaller one for my hair and left to go brush his teeth. I threw my head forwards and wrapped my hair in the towel then twisted it and threw it backwards. Mason left the bathroom, and I brushed my teeth, then brushed my hair and began to dry and style it with the blow-dryer. Once my hair was dried, I shoved it up in a messy bun and left the bathroom.
“Morning Angel,” Evan greeted me when I walked back into the bedroom.
I stood there like a deer in headlights not quite knowing how to respond, but once I saw his cheeky smile and twinkling hazel eyes I instantly felt at ease.
“Morning Evan,” I replied with a smile. I walked over to the chest of draws and pulled out a black and gray laced bra and matching thong. Then, with my newfound confidence, I dropped my towel to the floor and put my arms through the straps of the bra. I felt Evan sweep my hair over one of my shoulders, his hands then brushed against the sides of my breasts as he took the bra and gently fastened it behind me. “Thank you, Evan.”
He bent down and kissed my almost healed wolf bite mark that sat in between my shoulder and my neck, and I stroked his face with my hand as he did so. Turning around to face him, with my hands pressed against his chest, I glanced up into his eyes and stretched up to kiss him. He responded immediately and placed his hand on the nape of my neck gently easing me towards him. The kiss was soft and tender, making me tingle inside. He pecked me a few times at the end of the kiss then groaned as he pulled away.
“I could spend all day kissing those delicious lips of yours,” he said in a husky voice while he walked away.
I giggled while putting my thong on then walked over to the closet to pick out today's clothes.
“Where's Mason got to?” I asked Evan as I grabbed a pair of gray skinny jeans, a black off the shoulder top and my black Uggs.
“Oh, he's had to go and deal with some hunter business real quick. He said he'll meet us in the dining room for breakfast once he's done,” he replied casually.
I furrowed my brow as I pulled up my jeans and fastened the button.
“What sort of hunter business? Is it something I should know about? You know, now that I'm Fionn?” I asked while pulling on my top.
“Na, it's nothing important, Angel cakes. You just finish getting yourself dressed then bring your cute butt downstairs for breakfast, okay?”
And with that said he hopped off of the bed and practically ran out of the room. Hmm well, that was strange, I thought to myself as I grabbed some socks out of the draw then made my way across the room and sat on the bed to put them on. I wonder what Mason is dealing with. And why did Evan rush out of here so quickly when I asked him about it? They are definitely hiding something, I thought to myself.
“Yeah, you need to find out what their hiding from us!” A voice inside my head added.
“Oh my God, it's you! You came back,” I squealed at my wolf inside my head.
“Yup, did you miss me? I'm glad you finally let me back in, I've been trying to get through to you for ages,” my wolf replied.
“Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I just needed some space to think and get my mind straight. I won't do it again, I promise. I did miss you, Mina,” I said softly in my mind.
“Oh, you picked me out a name?” She asked, sounding excited.
“Yeah, do you like it? You can pick one yourself if you'd prefer?” I offered.
“No, I love it! Thank you, Freya. Now let's go eat I'm starving,” she demanded.
I chuckled while I finished putting my boots on, then walked towards the bedroom door, ready to go and stuff my face. As I entered the hallway and closed my bedroom door behind me, I spotted Carmen coming out of her bedroom. Sudden flashes of the woman running into the woods consumed my thoughts. I wonder if it was her? I asked myself. I decided to talk to her to see if she was awkward with me. That would show me if she was the one that saw me and the guys together last night. Before I had a chance to say anything, she called out to me, “Hey, Freya! Sorry, I mean Fionn,” she corrected herself.
“Freya's fine, Carmen, honestly,” I replied softly.
She walked up to me with a huge smile on her face then to my surprise she hugged me. In the shock of it I almost forgot to hug her back, but quickly patted her back before she pulled away.
“That was such an amazing party last night. Where did you guys run off to? You missed out on so much fun,” she asked while for fully linking her arm in mine, before walking with me down the hall.
“Um, we had some hunter stuff to sort out that's all,” I quickly lied and tried to keep a smile from crawling across my face as snippets of last night flashed before my eyes.
“Oh, I only ask because a few people said they heard screeching coming from your room. So, as you can imagine, all sorts of rumors were flying around last night,” she said with a chuckle.
I turned my head away as I felt a blush coming on. Then I lied again, “Oh yeah, that. Well, I asked the guys to train me a little. Just to make sure I was able to fight off an attack, you know with what happened with Tristan and his pack.”
I was getting damn good at this lying lark. I'll have to start remembering what I've said though, I thought to myself.
“Training huh?” she asked skeptically.
I quickly replied so that her brain didn't have time to think of any theories.
“Yeah, you know what it's like when you've had a drink. You think you're Superman and that you can take on anyone. I wanted to show the guys that just because I'm a girl I can still beat their butts.”
I held my breath hoping that she would buy it. I could see her thinking it over then she squealed, startling me slightly.
“Oh my God!” She yelled. My eyes grew wide when I thought that she'd figured out that I was lying. “You are such an awesome Fionn, please tell me you kicked their butts. That would have been so funny to watch. Oh my God, you have to show us all what you did last night!” She squealed excitedly as we walked down the stairs.
I sighed with relief knowing that she'd bought my lies, but then my heart sank at the thought of having a public training session with the guys. Crap! I cursed at myself. I'm going to have to fight them in front of all the other hunters now. I know Carmen won't be able to keep her mouth shut about this. What the hell have I done? I thought. Mina was no damn help. I could hear her howling and laughing in my head.
“Oh, shut up you!” I shouted at her in my mind.
We reached the bottom of the stairs, and I began to walk towards the dining room.
“Bye Fi…I mean Freya, I'm going to let the other hunters know that we're setting up a huge training session. You can show us all how you beat up those two knuckleheads. Bye!”
She trotted off towards the garden like an excited child.
“Ugh!” I groaned and skulked into the dining room.
“Hey what's up, Angel?” Evan asked from the dining table.
I sat in the chair next to him and rested my head on his shoulder. He cupped my face with his hand then stroked my cheek with his thumb.
“After we, you know? Last night. Well, when I went to go to the bathroom, I saw someone close the bedroom door, they cried and run away. When I got into the bathroom, I heard the same woman crying, so I looked out of the bathroom window, and I watched them run into the woods…” I said as quietly as I could, because I still didn’t know who it was.
I went to continue but Evan cut me off, quite abruptly I might add. He stood up making me sit back in my chair, then pulled my chair away from the table and squatted down in front of me. I furrowed my brow as I watched him take my hands in his.
“Right, now this is very important, Angel. I need to know who you saw running into the woods!” He said in a stern voice, but his face was panicked.
“I don't know who it was Evan. I didn't get a good look,” I replied casually.
His expression changed and now he looked angry. He then snapped at me, “Freya! This is serious. Who was it?”
“What's wrong with you? Why is it so important?” I snapped back and yanked my hands out of his.
Sensing my frustration, he took a deep breath and calmly replied, “Please, Angel. We really need to find out who saw us!”
I didn't know why it was such a big deal. According to him and Mason, what we did last night was common practice in our culture. The only thing I could think of was that he didn't want Ellie to know. I exhaled deeply then replied flatly, “Well, I thought it might have been Carmen, you know because she is in love with Mason. But I bumped into her on the way down here and I had to tell her some bullshit story about me training with you guys last night. Now she's out in the garden gathering the other hunters so that I can show them all exactly what we did last night and how I kicked your asses!” Even with his serious face on Evan couldn't help but slugger. I pouted at him letting him know his laughter wasn't acceptable. He quickly composed himself. Once he'd ceased sniggering, I continued, “last night I thought of three people it might have been. One, Carmen…” I held one finger up. Then continued, “two, Amelia, because she has the biggest crush on you…” I held a second finger up as he blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. “And three, Ellie. Because, well you know,” I held a third and final finger up.
His face grew sad when I mentioned Ellie's name. He gradually stood up, walked behind me and pushed my chair back towards the table.
“Eat your breakfast, Angel. I just need to go and talk to, Mason quickly,” he said and leaned around me and gently pulled my face towards his to kiss me.
“Don't mind me,” a woman's voice called out.
We both shot our heads around to see Ellie walking into the room.
“Oh, hey baby. I made you some breakfast, it's in the microwave,” Evan said while walking towards Ellie.
He hugged her and they kissed, then Evan left the room. I sat there in silence, shocked at what I'd just seen. It was like nothing had happened, like she didn't just walk in on an intimate moment between her boyfriend and another girl. Once she'd grabbed her food, Ellie sat in the chair directly opposite me. All I wanted to do was run away from the situation, but I knew that would make this whole thing look worse than it already did. I guessed she could see the shocked look on my face and to be honest I don't think me staring at her was helping me none.
“It's okay, Fionn. I understand the situation. Evan told me all about last night when he saw me this morning. You don't need to worry. This is the way of our people. I'm fine with it, I promise. Now eat, you need to keep your strength up and it would be a shame if you were to let that go to waste, Evan is an amazing cook,” she talked to me like nothing had happened.
She seemed absolutely fine with it all, she was definitely a better woman than me. I would have hit the roof, culture or not. Sharing my man was not something I could do in a million years. The rest of the breakfast was enjoyable, and she was right—it tasted amazing. We chatted and laughed, then she left. I sat there quietly in my thoughts, then suddenly Mason came charging through the door.
“Freya, we have a huge problem! Evan and I think that the woman you saw running into the woods last night, has told the hunter's council about you being a werewolf and that you turned, Finnley. We need to prepare you for a meeting with them. We have to speak to them as soon as possible and try to convince them not to kill you!”
