“You’re the one who booked the room. How would I know the room number? I’m not a mind reader,” Victor retorted.
Biting her lower lip, Estelle sighed and said slowly, “It’s Room 1231.”
“Got it. I’ll be right there,” Victor replied before hanging up.
“Miss, the elevator is here,” the bellhop reminded her.
“Okay,” Estelle said as she hurried into the elevator and pressed the button for the twelfth floor. When the elevator door opened on the twelfth floor, Estelle walked out, heading towards Room 1231 at the end of the corridor, with the bellhop following her.
After she had settled her luggage in the room, the bellhop politely bowed to her and left. It was only after the door closed that Estelle suddenly remembered she had forgotten to tip the bellhop.
The furnishings in Room 1231 were the same as they had been the last time she was here. However, no traces were left of her and Mr. Mysterious ever staying there.
‘Mr. Mysterious has left this room behind. The memories we once held dear mean nothing to him now. All he’s focused on is getting back at the Hans family and their properties. He’s not the same Mr. Mysterious I knew. He used to care about me and treasure our moments together, but now he seems distant and cold.’
Thinking about it, she turned on the TV to fill the room with some noise, hoping to dispel the loneliness.
The local TV channel was airing a dating show she had appeared on before. In this episode, many participants found matches, and their happy smiles brought a bit of cheer to Estelle.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, startling her.
“Who’s there?” she asked.
“Who else can it be? It’s me,” replied Victor impatiently.
Recognizing his voice, Estelle opened the door and saw him standing there, looking a bit messy.
Victor walked past her into the room, glancing around with a smile. “This presidential suite is quite spacious and lavishly decorated.”
Estelle asked hesitantly, “Don’t you remember?”
Raising an eyebrow, Victor asked, “Remember what?”
“We used to…”
“Oh, of course, I remember,” Victor suddenly recalled. “We used to stay here for a while. It’s been quite some time, and I forgot how it looked. Was this renovated?”
“No...”
“No? Well, it’s been many years, and my memory isn’t that clear,” Victor explained as he turned to face her.
“Estelle...”
Seeing him approaching, Estelle took a step back and asked cautiously, “What are you trying to do?”
“Are you afraid of me?” Victor asked seriously.
With a wary expression, Estelle replied, “If you have something to say, just say it. I can hear you without you getting so close.”
“But I’ve missed you!” Victor said, suddenly stepping closer and hugging her.
“Ah!” Estelle was taken aback and let out a frightened scream.
“Don’t be scared, Estelle. We haven’t seen each other in so many years. I just wanted to hug you,” Victor reassured her, holding her tightly with his strong arms.
Feeling uncomfortable, Estelle gently placed her arms between them to create some distance. She turned her face away and said, “Please don’t hold me like this...”
“Why not? We used to be even closer, didn’t we?” Victor replied.
“But...” Estelle bit her lower lip and continued, “Can you give me some time to adjust?”
Hearing this, Victor grew a bit impatient and displeased. He wrapped one arm around her waist and gently lifted her chin with his other hand, urging her to face him. “Estelle, it’s me, your Mr. Mysterious. Why are you so distant?”
“I...”
“Shh. Don’t say anything. Let’s go to the bedroom and talk there...” Victor suggested as he carried Estelle in his arms, heading toward the bedroom.
Estelle had been looking forward to reuniting with Mr. Mysterious in this room. However, she felt restless and a bit alarmed at this moment. Almost instinctively, she glanced toward the still-open door and noticed a familiar figure passing by quickly.
“Someone’s outside!” she exclaimed.
“It’s probably a bellhop. Just ignore it. Estelle, I’ve missed you so much...” Victor replied as he continued toward the door with Estelle in his arms, using his leg to close it forcefully with a loud bang.
Outside the room, Cristofer leaned to the side, hiding in a corner, with something bulging in his biker leathers. His clothes were soaked from the rain, but the items in his leather remained dry and clean.
Then he carefully took it out of his clothes and unfolded it. It was a pure white, strapless wedding dress.
He knew that Estelle didn’t like dresses with bustles because she thought they were too heavy, so he chose a fishtail wedding dress for her. The skirt of the dress was long and was also decorated with feathers and diamonds that sparkled in the darkness and looked like the stars in the sky.
Looking at the wedding dress, Cristofer smiled and thought, ‘Estelle will be very beautiful in this wedding dress. She will be the most beautiful bride in the world.’
With his eyes slowly closing, Cristofer let his imagination take over. He envisioned Estelle in that wedding dress, her long curly hair cascading down, standing gracefully beneath the Malus Halliana tree. Delicate pink and white petals fell upon her shoulders and wedding dress.
Her gaze was filled with love and brightness in his imagination as she looked at him.
As the daydream came to an end, Cristofer returned to reality, squatting down in pain. He carefully folded the wedding dress and tucked it back into his clothing, treating it like the most precious treasure in the world.
He gazed at the closed door of Room 1231, wondering what was happening inside. His mind raced with thoughts of various possibilities.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed, and he received a message from Victor. He opened it to find a photo that left him in shock. In the image, Estelle was nestled against Victor’s chest, and Victor wore a smug smile while pressing the back of her head with his large hand.
In the following minutes, more messages from Victor came.
‘She’s so beautiful, my dearest younger brother. She has a perfect figure and is so seductive. Oh, I feel like I have a crush on her. Her skin is fair and smooth, and her lips are soft.’
