Cristofer then walked over, separating Nelson and Geoffrey while pushing Nelson’s wheelchair toward the dining room. While walking, he asked, “Uncle Nelson, I’ve been quite busy lately, and I haven’t visited you as often as I should. How have you been?”
Nelson sighed contentedly and replied, “Cristofer, this is the first time you’ve taken the initiative to push my wheelchair.”

“Women are all scourges,” Cristofer interjected, completing the statement. He sighed and continued, “I’m aware of that, Uncle Nelson. You’ve emphasized it to me countless times.”
“I just worry that you might repeat the same mistakes. Please promise me you won’t make any wrong decisions for that woman again.”
Cristofer reassured him, saying, “I won’t. You have my word, Uncle Nelson. You can trust me.”
Upon entering the dining room, Cristofer helped Nelson to his seat carefully.
“Cristofer, I have a question for you,” Nelson said, recalling their previous phone conversation.
“Go ahead, Uncle Nelson.”
“Are you really not the one who saved Estelle when she was bullied at the clinic?” Nelson asked.
With a faint self-mocking smile, Cristofer didn’t answer him directly, “Since she has fallen in love with another man, I don’t think it necessary for me to do anything for her.” When he blurted it out, he looked as if he had given up on Estelle.
Nelson, who had been observing his expression, nodded and asked, “Then who do you think the man is?”
Shaking his head, Cristofer said, “I don’t know. We hadn’t seen each other for over three years before she returned to Hadale. Maybe it’s her new boyfriend who saved her.”
“I heard a knife injured that man’s left hand,” Nelson said, suddenly shifting his gaze to Cristofer’s left hand. “Cristofer, show me your left palm.”
Hearing this, Cristofer smiled and asked, “Uncle Nelson, don’t you believe me? Do you think I lied to you?”
Nelson also smiled and said, “I just want to confirm that you are not the man who saved Estelle. If that man is not you, then your palm should not be injured. There’s no harm in showing me your palm, is there?”
Cristofer didn’t move, still holding the handles at the back of the wheelchair tightly.
“Hurry up. Show me your palm so that I can be relieved, and we can enjoy our dinner,” Nelson urged him.
