Chapter 333 Chapter 333: Don’t Look At Me Like That
Suddenly, Estelle’s phone beeped, and her heart skipped a beat.
When Estelle heard the text message ringtone, she thought of Mr. Mysterious, as almost no one would text her except him.
Holding the phone tightly, she didn’t dare to check the message.
Tim was complaining about Cristofer's ruthlessness when he suddenly saw the strange expression on her face. Then he approached her and asked, “What’s wrong with you? You’re holding a mobile phone, not a grenade. Why do you look so scared? Don’t you wanna check the message?”
“I...”
“Forget it. I’ll do it for you,” Tim said as he grabbed the phone from her hand and took her finger to unlock the screen with her fingerprint. When he saw the message on the screen, he frowned deeply and was silent.
Holding her breath nervously, Estelle focused intently on him, eagerly anticipating the details of the text message he was about to share.
“I thought it was about something important,” Tim said and then returned the phone to her hand.
With a hunch in her heart, Estelle inquired anxiously, “Is... Is it from the hospital? Did the organ matching fail once more? Or...”
“No, it’s actually a package for you,” Tim explained with a hint of exasperation. “What’s going through your mind, big artist? If the hospital had something to convey, they would give you a call instead of sending a text.”
Only then did Estelle finally let go of her tension.
She thought, ‘That’s right. Whenever there was any update from the hospital, the doctor would call me or send me an e-mail instead of texting me. I was overly sensitive.’
‘Fortunately, the message is just a reminder that I got a package... Wait! The Package!’
Estelle’s face suddenly turned pale.
“Mr. Roberts, I have something urgent to do. I’ve got to go now. Thank you for helping me today. I’ll treat you to dinner another day,” she said quickly, returned the helmet to Tim, and then walked to the roadside to hail a taxi.
However, they were at the foot of the mountain and were far away from the main road. Not a single car was in sight, let alone a passing taxi.
Seeing her like this, Tim asked curiously, “Is the package very important?”
“Yes, it’s very important to me.”
“Does it have anything to do with Mr. Mysterious?” Tim asked tentatively, “Is it something he left you?”
With her lips compressing into a thin line, Estelle nodded after a short silence and said, “Sort of.”
“You don’t need to rush to collect it. The package is securely stored at the pickup station. You can get it when you return home,” Tim reassured.
However, Estelle couldn’t wait any longer. Standing at the roadside, she looked around and waited for a taxi with an anxious expression.
After waiting for a considerable duration, there was still no sign of a taxi on the road, and Estelle’s frustration almost brought her to tears.
Finally, Tim’s heart softened, and he sighed, “I’ll take you back to get the package.”
Hearing this, Estelle turned to look at him with tears in her eyes and said, “Mr. Roberts, you...”
“Cut the crap, hop on the motorcycle,” Tim insisted, “Traffic is congested on the route back to the city. If you try to catch a taxi, you might get stuck in traffic and waste a lot of time getting home. It’s quicker to ride my motorcycle back. Let’s get going.”
With no alternative, Estelle swiftly climbed onto the motorcycle and secured the helmet.
During their journey back, Tim sped along on his MV Augusta, taking advantage of shortcuts to reach the pickup station immediately.
When Estelle jumped out of the motorcycle in a hurry, she almost crashed into someone. Fortunately, Tim grabbed her hand and pulled her quickly.
“Don’t rush. Be careful!” He reminded her.
Estelle nodded quickly and rushed into the pickup station.
A few minutes later, she emerged, clutching a sizable square box. The box appeared slightly weighty, given that she struggled a bit while carrying it.
Tim cast a glance at the labels and waybill on the package, realizing it was an international shipment.
“Has this been sent back from overseas?” Tim inquired, looking perplexed. “Wasn’t it reported that Mr. Mysterious passed away in Hadale and didn’t travel abroad with you? Why would items he left for you be sent back from overseas?”
Without replying to him, Estelle held the box in her arms as if holding a priceless precious treasure.
“What’s this?” Tim asked.
Shaking her head with her eyes filled with tears, Estelle forced a smile and said, “Stop asking, will you?”
Seeing her like this, Tim was a little overwhelmed.
Scratching his head awkwardly, he said, “Okay, okay. I won’t ask you more questions anymore. Don’t cry. Well... You don’t look well. How about I send you back to the hotel?”
“Mr. Roberts, could you please send me to Mount Cloud again?”
“What?” Tim asked in surprise as he pointed at the box in Estelle’s arms, “You want to take this big box with you?”
“Yes.”
Tim then said with his tone softening, “Since you treasure it so much, how about you send it back before we go to Mount Cloud? The mountain road is rugged. I’m afraid that the jolts will damage the stuff in it.”
“It’s okay. I’ll hold it very tightly,” Estelle stated firmly.
“All right. I really don’t understand you. Get on the motorcycle. I’ll take you there,” Tim pouted his lips.
“I want to go to the top of Mount Cloud.”
“Now? Do you know what time it is now? Besides, the mountain road is steeper, and I can’t ride the motorcycle too fast. When we reach the top of the mountain, the sun will be setting!”
‘Sunset? That will be great,’ Estelle thought.
Then she nodded and said firmly, “Yes, I want to go there right now.”
Since she was holding the big box, Tim helped her put on her helmet and buckle the straps on it.
However, he had never done such a thing for others, and his movement was slow and clumsy. And he tried many times but failed. Feeling a little irritable, he almost wanted to tie the two straps together directly.
Releasing a profound sigh, he reminded himself to exercise more patience internally. He bent slightly, aligning himself with the buckle groove, and finally secured the helmet straps without any hitches.
Relieved, he commented, “I wanted to court you again, but this helmet effectively quashed that thought. Being single is far more comfortable. At the very least, I’m spared from performing such acts for someone else.”
Hearing this, Estelle looked up at him and blinked her eyes.
Blushing in an instant, Tim looked away to avoid her gaze and hurriedly explained, “I didn’t mean anything else. Don’t think too much. I just think... You are pitiful that you have to raise the children alone, so I want to help you. Anyway, they need a father... Don’t look at me like that. You are scaring me...”
