York pulled Estelle directly into the office of the legal department and said to the others, “Hold her down!”
The legal department staff rushed forward and grabbed Estelle’s arms, making her unable to move.
“Estelle, don’t blame me,” York said in a cold voice and with a fierce look as he put a document on the desk before her. “I’m going to ask your mother to sign this agreement on the change of legal person. If she doesn’t sign it, I won’t let you go today.”
‘You’re such an ungrateful man, York!’ Estelle thought.
Despite Estelle’s efforts to free herself, she remained restrained, unable to budge. After regaining her composure, an idea formed in Estelle’s mind, and a subtle smile played across her lips.
The following instant, she adopted a pitiful expression as if on the verge of tears. “Uncle York, my mother has recently regained her health. If she were to be imprisoned, it would have devastating consequences... Uncle York, my mother is your own sister!”
Upon hearing Estelle’s words, York, burdened with guilt and aware of his wrongdoing, responded with a guilty conscience, “I... I will find a way to bribe the prison officials and ensure that your mother doesn’t face undue hardship during her time in prison. The lawyer mentioned a sentence of three to seven years of imprisonment. At most, your mother would be incarcerated for seven years. She is in her early fifties currently, and upon her release, she would still have several years ahead of her to live.”
“Uncle York... Don’t do that... Don’t let my mother go to jail!”
“I’ve made up my mind. After your mother goes to jail, I will take good care of you. You can move back home with your two children. I will raise them and take them as my grandchildren. I’ll send them to the best school and let them have the best education. It is much better than you bringing them up alone. I believe your mother will sign the agreement for the sake of her grandchildren. After all, nothing is more important than the children’s future, right?”
Hearing this, Estelle lowered her head as if she was extremely painful. But actually, she was secretly pleased when seeing York fall into her trap.
She didn’t expect that York would set about changing the company’s legal person so soon. After all, he was always suspicious and wouldn’t make any decisions lightly.

“Estelle, stay here. I’m going to see your mother now,” York said and then nodded at the employees with a meaningful glance.
Understanding the unspoken signal, the employees swiftly acted upon it. Once York had departed, they locked the door and released their grip on Estelle.
As Estelle regained her freedom, she couldn’t help but feel aches and soreness in her arms while her wrists displayed signs of bruising.
Taking a deep breath, she carefully flexed her muscles, easing the discomfort, and took a casual step forward.
“What do you want to do? Stop!” A man behind her snapped immediately.
Estelle turned around and darted a look at him. Then with a sneer, she glanced at the man’s name badge and read out the information on it in a deep voice, “Are you Joe from the legal department?”
The man called Joe gave her a warning glance.
“Joe, you’d better be polite to me. You know what my uncle is going to do. And you should also know that my mother is going to be the company’s legal person soon,” Estelle warned.
Upon hearing Estelle’s statement, Joe’s eyes widened with a sudden realization, panic evident in his expression.
The rest of the individuals present understood the implications of Estelle’s words, and their faces contorted with shock, alarmed by the unforeseen shift in the situation.
Observing their surprised expressions, Estelle couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She calmly made her way towards a nearby chair and gracefully seated herself, a contented smile playing on her lips.
“Initially, my father held the position of the legal person for the company. He had transferred half of his shares to me, and as per the inheritance laws, my mother was entitled to inherit the remaining half. Without our knowledge or consent, you wrongfully changed the company’s legal person to York. This action is in clear violation of the law. While I may not have a background in law, I believe you are well aware of the potential consequences and the severity of the charges if I were to pursue legal action against you,” Estelle asserted firmly.
Shortly after that, York returned, having managed to make the journey to the hospital and back within a mere hour.
As he entered the room, Estelle caught a glimpse of the document, noting the signatures and thumbprints of both Aurora and York.
York handed the document to one of the legal specialists and instructed, “Ensure the swift change of the company’s legal person without delay.”
The legal specialist didn’t take the document but looked at Estelle.
“What are you looking at? Just do as I said!” York yelled.
With an embarrassed look, the legal specialist wanted to say something but hesitated. “Mr. Grantham...”
“Cut the crap! The legal person must be changed before the summons is sent here. Hurry up!”
Gritting his teeth, the legal specialist walked out with the document. The others all lowered their heads in silence.
“Estelle, a friend of mine who is abroad, is in trouble. I have to go abroad to help him. Deal with the company affairs for me when I’m away, will you?” York said anxiously.
‘You want to run away? Good. That’s exactly what I want,’ Estelle thought.
After adjusting her emotions, Estelle showed a hesitant look and reluctantly said, “But Uncle York, I’m inexperienced in managing the company...”
“Don’t worry. You will just temporarily manage the company for me for a few days. I will be back soon after I help my friend solve his problems.” York tried to persuade her.

A few minutes later, York’s car came out of the company’s underground parking lot and sped towards the direction of the airport.

Then she ordered the others coldly, “Go and tell the managers of all departments that we’ll have a meeting at four o’clock.”
