Hearing this, Cristofer couldn’t stand it anymore. He took a deep breath and compromised, “I’ll transfer all my properties to you, including the shares of my company, all my real estate, funds, and the money in my account. Are you satisfied now? And you must stop showing up in front of me and Estelle from now on.”
“No,” Gretchen said bluntly. “What I want is not your properties but you, a man who can make countless money for me for the rest of my life. Cristofer, I want you to marry me. I want to be the hostess of the Hans family.”
“So, you mean you don’t want to donate your lungs? You want to live and enjoy the wealth and fame?”
“I didn’t say that I wouldn’t donate my lung. I can donate one of my lungs to her. In this way, I can also save her life, can’t I?” Gretchen said with an innocent look.
“Let’s talk about it later,” Cristofer said, “I only want Estelle’s notebook now. Tell me what you want me to do.”
Gretchen immediately said, “I want you to announce our marriage to the whole country. Estelle, the bitch conspired with Tim and ruined my reputation. I’ll let everyone see that even if I’m infamous, I can still marry the best man in Hadale.”

“All right. Forget it. I’m going to take a shower now. I’ll take this notebook with me and bathe it.” Gretchen said as she stood up and walked towards the bathroom.
While walking, she briefly ignited the lighter and positioned it near the notebook as a precautionary measure in case Cristofer attempted to abruptly snatch it.

Since the window in the bedroom was open, the wind coming in made the fire get bigger and bigger, and in an instant, one-third of the notebook was burning.

The bedroom was on the second floor. The moment the notebook was thrown out, Cristofer jumped out of the window.
Seeing this, Gretchen was frightened. She walked toward the window and looked down from it, shouting, “Cristofer! Cristofer! Are you okay?”
However, it was dark outside, and she couldn’t see anything.
Gretchen then ran out of the villa in a hurry. When she found Cristofer, he had been helped up by two security guards.
Half of Cristofer's face was covered with blood, and his expensive high-end suit was stained with mud and grass. Besides, one of his legs was injured, and he could barely stand steadily by leaning against one of the security guards. But even so, he still held the notebook in his hand tightly as if holding a priceless treasure.
Seeing his injuries, a security guard said worriedly, “Mr. Hans, let’s go to the hospital first. You are seriously injured.”
Suddenly, Cristofer's phone beeped.
Frowning in pain, Cristofer wanted to take out his phone from his pocket. But his arm hurt so much that he couldn’t move it at all. Therefore, he could only ask the security guard for help.
“Could you please help me take out my phone and check the message? Thank you.”
“Okay, okay.” The security guard took out Cristofer's phone for him and clicked on the message. “Mr. Hans, here you are.”
‘When will you come back tonight? I cooked spicy shredded chicken for you!’ It was a message from Estelle.
“Could you help me reply to the message?” Cristofer asked the security guard.
The security guard felt a little embarrassed but didn’t refuse him. He nodded and said, “Okay. Mr. Hans, please tell me what you want to reply.”
“Tell her that I’ll be back in fifteen minutes.”
“Okay.” The guard quickly typed the words and texted Estelle. Then he showed the message to Cristofer and said, “Mr. Hans, I’ve sent the message.”
It was not until then that Cristofer finally felt relieved. “Okay, thank you.”
“Mr. Hans, you don’t look well. No matter how busy you are, you should treat your wounds first. How about we send you to the hospital first?”
“No, thanks. I have something else to do. I’m leaving now,” Cristofer said and shook his head.

Enduring the pain, Cristofer loosened his grip on the security guards’ arms, struggled to stand steadily on his own, and walked to his car with difficulty. After getting into the car, he started the vehicle and drove off quickly.
After he left, the two security guards and Gretchen stood there looking at each other.
The security guards had never seen Gretchen before, and one of them asked, “Miss, do you live in this neighborhood?”
Pointing at the villa beside her, Gretchen raised her chin arrogantly and said. “I’m the hostess of this villa. I just came out of it!”
Hearing this, the two security guards exchanged glances and then stared at Gretchen coldly with their eyes full of doubts.
“This villa is owned by Mr. Hans. Previously, it was occupied by Mrs. Hans. However, since her departure, the property has remained unoccupied. May I inquire about your identity? Are you possibly a thief? Miss, we kindly request you to go with us to the security office immediately.”
All three of them, including Yohan, directed their complete attention towards the adorable snow-white puppy.
Seeing this, Mrs. Moorsum couldn’t help smiling. “Mr. Mysterious, Miss Hudson, come and have dinner. The food is getting cold.”
Cristofer gave a slight nod and courteously pulled out a chair for Estelle. Once she had taken her seat, he joined her by sitting beside her.
Mrs. Moorsum picked up Yohan and put him in the child’s seat. The little Samoyed dog quietly squatted at his feet.
Like Mrs. Moorsum coaxing Yvonne, Yohan said gently to the puppy, “Be good. I’ll play with you after dinner.”
There were a lot of dishes on the table. In addition to the spicy shredded chicken that Estelle mentioned in the message, there was also poached sliced beef in hot chili oil and shredded pork with green pepper.
Looking at the dishes, Yohan cheered and began to eat happily.
