Rebecca placed a hand over her chest and let out a sigh, expressing her sentiments. “I have witnessed nearly everything that unfolded between you and Cristofer over these years. Back in high school, the two of you were such an ideal couple that we all felt envious. However, within just a few years, your marriage ended in divorce. It’s truly a sorrowful tale.”
“Maybe it’s fate. Cristofer and I are destined to break up,” Estelle said softly.
“It appears that you are destined to marry into the Hans family. First, you divorced Cristofer, and now you are with Mr. Mysterious,” remarked Rebecca. “By the way, Estelle, were you taken aback when you saw Mr. Mysterious’ face? Now that you will see him daily, will it make you uncomfortable to encounter a face resembling Cristofer?”
Upon hearing Rebecca’s question, Estelle shook her head and replied, “No. Despite their resemblance, they are distinct individuals. Mr. Mysterious is Mr. Mysterious; he is not Cristofer.”
Rebecca acknowledged Estelle’s response with a nod.
Estelle continued, “Mr. Mysterious assured me that he would never deceive me. He arranged for Justin to pose as him and take care of me during that time. Justin mirrored him in every way. If he wanted to hide his true identity, he could have lied and claimed to be Justin. However, he chose not to do so. Since then, I have placed a great deal of trust in him. So, when I asked him if he was Cristofer and he denied it, I made the decision to believe him.”
Rebecca let out a sigh and remarked, “But at the end of the day, he and Cristofer are twins. There are bound to be numerous similarities between them, right?”
“Well, I haven’t discovered their similarities thus far,” Estelle replied.
She then shifted the conversation and inquired, “Rebecca, did you truly end things with Justin?”
“Yes, I no longer wish to be under his control,” Rebecca responded.
“He agreed to the breakup?” Estelle asked.
“He doesn’t have the time to deal with our relationship now,” Rebecca replied. “Tim and their mother have been engaging in intense arguments lately. Justin has to intervene and mediate between them from time to time. It’s a relief that he’s preoccupied. I can enjoy a peaceful life these days.”
“Did Tim’s argument with his mother stem from the blind date?” Estelle inquired.
“Yes, how did you know that?” Rebecca asked, blinking her eyes in confusion. “Did Tim mention it to you?”
“Yes, but he didn’t provide more details. Mrs. Roberts actually came to Only Love Jewelry and pressured him into going on the blind date,” Estelle revealed.
“It can be said that Tim and I are fellow sufferers,” Rebecca smiled helplessly and said. “Both of us are forced to get married soon and are almost driven mad because of this. I heard that Tim’s mother introduced the daughter of a director of Roberts Real Estate Group to him.”
“That girl developed feelings for him and even traveled abroad to see him. However, Tim didn’t respond favorably to her advances. Feeling hurt, the girl complained to Mrs. Roberts upon her return. Mrs. Roberts believed that Tim had crossed a line and demanded that he apologize to the girl. This led to Tim losing his temper and engaging in a heated argument with his mother,” Rebecca explained.
Estelle contemplated the situation and realized, ‘No wonder Tim still expressed interest in being my boyfriend after he returned from abroad. It appears that Mrs. Roberts didn’t have a productive conversation with him at all.’
“In reality, Estelle, you and Tim are well-suited for each other. Both of you are jewelry designers and would have plenty of shared interests. Tim is someone who strives for excellence in everything he does, and you are the only female designer he truly admires. If you were to be with Tim, the Roberts family would support you, and it would facilitate the process of reclaiming your father’s company,” Rebecca suggested.
“But I am already in a relationship with Mr. Mysterious,” Estelle replied.
“I understand. I must say that Tim isn’t fortunate enough. The only female he truly admires already has a boyfriend. Haha,” Rebecca remarked with a hint of amusement.
The two of them continued chatting as they made their way back to Aurora’s ward.
Outside the ward, Ron anxiously awaited Estelle’s return. As soon as he spotted her, he promptly reported to Mr. Mysterious on the phone.
“Sir, Miss Hudson has returned. She appears in good spirits and engages in a pleasant conversation with Miss Miller.”
“Alright. Keep her safe.”
“I understand. Please rest assured. I will ensure her safe return,” Ron assured Mr. Mysterious.
After hanging up the phone, Ron trotted over and said, “I’m sorry, Miss Hudson. I went to fetch the gifts for Mrs. Hudson prepared by Mr. Mysterious just now. It’s my fault that I didn’t guard here all the time.”
Hearing this, Estelle hurriedly said, “No, no, no. You did nothing wrong. I went downstairs with Rebecca to have a chat just now. I’ll explain to Mr. Mysterious and ask him not to blame you.”
With his head respectfully lowered, Ron conveyed, “Miss Hudson, Mr. Mysterious harbors his own concerns. He is deeply worried about you.”
“I understand,” Estelle nodded in acknowledgment.
“I will wait by the ward’s entrance and remain there, not straying far,” Ron assured Estelle.
“Okay.”
Estelle took out her phone and texted Mr. Mysterious.
‘I’ve been back to the ward with Rebecca. We are safe and sound. Don’t blame Ron.’
Mr. Mysterious replied in a second.
‘I didn’t blame him. I bought some gifts for your mother. Sorry that I can’t go to visit her in person now.’
‘It doesn’t matter. I quite understand you.’
‘Estelle, give me some more time. After I finish everything, I will take you and our children abroad and start a new life. Your mother can go abroad with us if she is willing to. By that time, we will never be bothered by anything here anymore.’
‘Okay.’
‘Wait for me. I promise it won’t be long. By the way, please tell your mother that I can’t visit her for the time being. I will explain everything to her in person in the future.’
‘Okay.’
Estelle then put away her phone and walked into the ward with Rebecca.
Yohan, who was the first one to see her coming back, threw himself into her arms happily.
“Mom, I miss you so much. Uncle Ron just brought a lot of gifts that Dad bought for Grandma!” At the mention of his Dad, Yohan was beaming with joy. “Grandma, I’ve told you that my Dad is a superhero. I didn’t lie to you, did I?”
The sight of numerous gifts in the ward took Aurora aback. Upon seeing Estelle, she immediately inquired, “Estelle, the man you just mentioned... does he truly exist?”
“Of course,” Estelle said and chuckled. “Mom, I’ve never lied to you.”
“Then... Is he a young man?” Aurora asked.
She had also read the news about Gretchen and learned that she was the mistress of many rich middle-aged men before. Therefore, she couldn’t help but worry that Estelle would go astray like Gretchen for the sake of money.
Estelle smiled and said, “Yes, he is young and about thirty years old.”
