Estelle felt very embarrassed and blushed to her ears.
The teacher also chuckled and joked, “I see. I shouldn’t have kept lecturing and kept Cristofer waiting.”
Hearing this, Estelle felt even more embarrassed, lowering her head and not knowing what to say. And she could feel that her face was burning hot.
“Excuse me, Ms. Garcia.” Then, suddenly, a familiar voice came from the door of the classroom.
Estelle then raised her head immediately. She was stunned and froze when she saw Cristofer come in casually and walk toward her with his hands in his pockets.
Soon, Cristofer stopped before her, squatted down, and slowly took out a few candies from his pocket.
After putting the candies on her desk, he gazed at her with a faint smile and said, “What’s wrong with you? Don’t you know me? Why don’t you greet me?”
Biting her lower lip, Estelle pushed him and then said in a low voice, “What are you doing here? The class isn’t over.”
Seeing the flush on her cheeks, Cristofer couldn’t help chuckling and said, “I heard it just now. Your classmate said that you can’t wait to see me.”
Everyone in the class was looking at Estelle, including the teacher.
Being stared at by so many people, Estelle was at a loss and could only glare at Cristofer speechlessly.
Cristofer then stopped joking, gently caressed her hair with a doting smile, and said, “I’ll go now. See you later. “
Then he stood up and left. When he walked to the door, he said to the teacher, “Ms. Garcia, sorry that I interrupted you just now. You may go on.”
Ms. Garcia packed up her books on the podium and said with a helpless smile, “There’s no need to go on. Everyone’s attention has shifted to you from me. When did you become so clingy? Don’t worry. Others won’t take away your little girlfriend.”
“Ms. Garcia, many boys are chasing after Estelle. Cristofer has a sense of crisis, so he often comes to see her!” The monitor said loudly.
Ms. Garcia then said to the students, “Cristofer is a straight-A student and will definitely be admitted to a top university. You should learn from him.”
“Mommy? Mommy?” Yohan called Estelle’s name and shook her hand gently. “Why are you in a daze? Are you thinking about Dad? What makes you smile so happily?”
His childish voice wrenched Estelle’s mind back to the present. It was not until then that she realized that she had been smiling when lost in her memory just now.
Then she nodded slightly and said, “Yes, I remember something about the past between your dad and me.”
Yohan cupped his face in his hands and blinked his big eyes. “Mom, Mrs. Moorsum said that if a man and a woman love each other very much, their children will be good-looking. Yvonne and I are both good-looking. That means you and Dad love each other very much, right?”
Estelle was rendered speechless after hearing Yohan’s question.
‘Back then, Cristofer didn’t know I was pregnant with Yohan at all.’
‘After I gave birth to Yohan, I returned home, but at that time, Cristofer hated me to the core because of the car accident and never showed a good attitude toward me.’
‘And when I gave birth to Yvonne…’
‘The past years were like nightmares. With mixed feelings,’ Estelle told herself in her heart not to recall it anymore.
“Mom, I believe that Dad must love you very much,” Yohan said, holding her hand and looking at her with his bright eyes. “Yvonne is more good-looking than me. It means that Dad loves you more than before.”
Estelle held him gently and asked, “Do you know what love is?”
“Yes!” Yohan nodded and said confidently. He told her about the neighbors he met in Ameris, “When I was in Ameris, I had a neighbor called John. He’s as old as me. He loves a girl called Linda very much, and he said that he would marry her when he grows up.”
Estelle thought, ‘A five-year-old child has already begun to think about getting married! How cute.’
“Mom, will Dad come back tonight?” Yohan asked.
Estelle nodded and said, “Yes. Your new dad will come back. But he may come back late.”
“May I see him?”
“No. He has something to deal with and can’t meet us for the time being,” Estelle explained to him gently.
When Yohan heard this, his eyes brightened at once, and he said excitedly, “I see! Mrs. Moorsum said that my dad never showed his face. He must be a superhero like Iron Man and needs to save the world, so it’s not convenient for him to show his face!”
Hearing this, Estelle was both amused and helpless. “Well, you can say that.”
Mr. Mysterious saved her, her mother, and the two children. And he was indeed the superhero of them.
“Wow, Dad is so cool!” Yohan said with his face full of admiration for Mr. Mysterious. “He must be swamped saving other humans. It’s okay that I can’t see him now. I can see him in the future.”
“Good boy,” Estelle said with a smile.
Then Mrs. Moorsum knocked on the door and said, “Miss Hudson, you may come and have dinner now, or the food will get cold.”
“Okay. We’ll be right there,” Estelle replied to her and then went to the dining room hand in hand with Yohan.
The dishes cooked by Mrs. Moorsum were not only perfect in color, aroma, and taste but also very nutritious.
After the hearty dinner, Yohan went back to his room to play with Yvonne while Estelle helped Mrs. Moorsum do the dishes.
Mrs. Moorsum felt slightly embarrassed and said, “Miss Hudson, just leave it to me. You may have a rest. I have been well-paid. How can I let you do the housework?”
Estelle chuckled and said, “It doesn’t matter. I just want to do the dishes to kill time.”
“By the way, Miss Hudson, do you know tarot card reading, a means of fortune-telling? How about I do a tarot card reading for you?”
Estelle raised her head and asked, “You can read tarot cards?”
“Sure!” Mrs. Moorsum nodded and said. “Many people in my hometown used to ask me to do tarot card reading and tell them about their future. But I seldom do it now.”
“Then, is it convenient for you to do tarot card reading for me now?” Estelle asked with a worried look.
