Vincent nodded, tried to recall what Gretchen and Melody had done that day, and told Cristofer about it in detail.
“Gretchen went to the restroom?” Cristofer asked with a frown.
“Yes, Miss Abrams said that she wanted to go to the restroom. However, it was inconvenient for me to follow her. Besides, at that time, her mother kept talking to me and scolding me, so I didn’t pay much attention to Miss Abrams.”
“Then when did Gretchen come back?” Cristofer asked.
“About half an hour.”
Cristofer then went to the restroom via the route that Gretchen had taken that day and then found another way by which he could get to his office from the restroom by accident.
Standing at Vincent’s desk, Cristofer analyzed in his mind, ‘According to Vincent’s words just now, Gretchen came back to the reception room from another direction at that time. Why didn’t she take the same route but make a detour?’
“Mr. Hans, could it be that Miss Abrams came here for some other purposes that day?” Vincent asked.
“Was your computer on when they came, right?” Cristofer asked.
“Yes, I was searching for Yohan’ information then.”
Hearing this, Cristofer exhaled deeply, and his heart sank.
Sure enough, Yvonne’s alcoholism was caused by Gretchen and Melody.
Gretchen must have found the address of the Hans’ Residence by checking the shopping records on Vincent’s computer that day. Then she went to the Hans’ Residence with Melody and changed the feeding bottles secretly.
Actually, he had suspected Gretchen before. But at the thought that Gretchen didn’t know the address of the Hans’ Residence, he directly excluded the possibility that she harmed Yvonne. However, he didn’t expect that Gretchen and Melody had got the address of the Hans’ Residence.
“Mr. Hans, are you okay?” Vincent asked when seeing Cristofer so silent.
Cristofer sighed and ordered, “Tell the security guards not to let them enter the company if they come again.”
“Okay.”
“And,” Cristofer added. “I’ll buy baby products for Yvonne in person from now on. Delete all the shopping records on your shopping website account.”
“I see, Mr. Hans,” Vincent nodded and said. Then he asked, “Mr. Hans, did you drink last night?”
Hearing this, Cristofer frowned and asked, “How do you know that?”
“I smell the alcohol on you,” Vincent said. “Mr. Hans, you have stomach troubles. When you were with Miss Hudson before, she told me not to let you drink too much in social engagements. Mr. Hans, for your health, you’d better not drink.”
Cristofer sniffed at his sleeve and asked, “Is the smell strong?”
“No. But I can smell it clearly when I get close to you.”
“Got it,” Cristofer said.
At this time, his phone rang, and he received a call from an unknown number.
After hesitating for a moment, Cristofer answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Cristofer, it’s me,” Gretchen said hurriedly when she got through. “I know you are busy, but please let me finish my words. I knew the truth about the car accident six years ago. Come back now, and I will tell you everything.”
“You know the truth about the car accident?” Cristofer frowned and asked.
“Yes, I was responsible for maintaining your parents’ cars back then. I know better than others about what was wrong with the cars. The brake system failure should cause a car accident. I’ll tell you more details when you come back.”
“Just tell me on the phone if you really want to let me know. Don’t waste your new SIM card,” Cristofer said coldly.
Although Gretchen had expected that he would show a bad attitude toward her, she still felt a little angry when hearing his cold tone.
‘If you hadn’t blocked me, I wouldn’t have to buy a new SIM card to contact you.’

Cristofer was speechless.

“You will leave here?” Cristofer asked with doubt.
“Yes,” Gretchen said firmly. “But I want the compensation of six million dollars for my lost youth. I wasted the best years of my life on you. You have to compensate me.”
“No problem,” Cristofer said with a sigh of relief. “It’s good that you are willing to be friends with me. I’ll give you the money. But you must promise me that you won’t bother Estelle and Yvonne anymore.”
At ten o’clock at night, it was completely dark outside. As a prosperous city, Hadale had an energetic nightlife. With brilliant lights blazing everywhere, the city looked magnificent.
In contrast to the bright and bustling street, Estelle’s ward was dark and very quiet.
Estelle had turned off all the lights in the ward and was waiting for Mr. Mysterious while Yvonne was sleeping soundly beside her.

‘Estelle, sorry that I have something important to deal with tonight. I’ll go to the hospital to see you tomorrow night.’
