Three
A huge smile greeted Isiaah the following day. Unlike the previous days, Isiaah could smell the delicious food as soon as he came out of his own room.
He had to ponder who might be there before he could find the answer—Maeluthe.
He tried to be serious, but he just liked what he saw in the kitchen as he got closer.
When. . . is the last one?
When was the last time that a woman prepared breakfast for him?
Knowing that Maeluthe could consider it as a job, Isiaah still couldn’t get rid of the feeling of being touched by what the woman was doing.
“Oh, you’re awake.”
Maeluthe just smiled at him, and Isiaah didn’t stop himself from sitting in the chair opposite the table. “I’m done here. I didn’t know you were a morning buddy.”
Maeluthe continued to speak, but her chest did not seem to calm down. For the first time in her life, she was with another man in the same house.
She may have done horrible things, but she can never explain what she is feeling right now.
Maeluthe Legson is a decent woman, but because of so many things going on her plate.
She never had the answer to all her suffering.
All she wanted was to provide for herself and her education—including the child in her womb.
If her parents were here, she must have been deaf to their shouts and curses.
“You should eat,” he told Isiaah before getting busy arranging the things that she used.
“Eat with me.”
Maeluthe was surprised by the words that she heard from the man. In fact, that wasn’t really the attitude she expected.
She will admit that she already knows little about the man because her block mates hardly get along because of him.
Isiaah Jacinto.
“That’s right. . . you will be mine. You’ll be my virgin.”
He shook his head to avoid thinking.
“Sorry?” She just blinked and smiled at the man.
“Eat with me. I already forgot what it might feel about eating with someone at the same time,” Isiaah added.
That is precisely the truth. Only now does he have the opportunity to eat breakfast with someone.
It’s just funny because it is with a woman.
Who would have thought that he would accept this situation?
But whatever it is, maybe he has a right to like this situation. The woman was with him in his own house, even though there was nothing between the two of them.
This is safer than what Isiaah thought.
The two ate together. From time to time, Isiaah instructed her about what she needs to do as well as what they needed to do at work.
According to Isiaah, it would be better to go with him to the restaurant to be briefed and be a little familiar with the area.
The man’s attention was fixed to the maiden’s cleverness.
Her stance is different. She stands with power and intelligence. Gradually, he asked the woman more and more about what had happened to her the night they met.
Ten minutes after eight o’clock, the two arrived at the restaurant. Maeluthe was even a little shocked, especially since so many people had already opened up to her. That was contrary to the number of customers she thought and only now she has been to a place as beautiful as this.
“Good morning, Sir Jesse.”
“Good morning, Mr. Jacinto.”
Isiaah just smiled with his employees. He simply looked at the woman next to him and was silent before ordering their manager, Erik, to brief her.
This would work well for Maeluthe, he said to himself.
His staff are good, especially in the Main branch, so he shouldn’t worry about that. In fact, the woman is only a part-timer because she has to come in on weekdays.
He spent time dealing with guests. If Isiaah is not facing VIPs, he is joking around with the few customers who are there.
That was Isiaah’s secret to being close to other people. The young man is very down to earth, so everyone loves him. He’s even more amusing with his hard work.
“Sir,” Erik called as he stopped in front of him. He smiled kindly at the man in return. “The briefing with Miss Legson is over. She said she will start now.”
Isaiah just scratched his head. Even though the woman is very intimidating, she is still straightforward to read. If she wants something, she will do anything to get
“Where did you find her, Sir? She’s very intimidating. I thought she would be hired as a manager. I immediately thought you would replace me.”
Isiaah just laughed at Erik, shook his head, then tapped him on the shoulder. He would have answered him, but his friends just showed up at the entrance of the place. If he just let them go, they will get all the customers’ attention.
“Sai!” Baste shouted, the actor’s friend even waved, causing the few there to recognize him. He was just shaken while thinking of the possible commotion just because of the man.
“Let’s have breakfast,” Andrei said to him. He just smiled when he remembered the fantastic breakfast she had before going to work. He pretended to agree with them, so he quickly brought his friends to an empty table.
“What’s the matter with that guy, huh?” Isiaah laughed as his snout pointed at Kairus, who was just sitting in front and frowning.
“Nightmares,” Kairus answered.
“Aren’t you going to greet me, Sai?” Baste laughed again. He knows what the man is doing.
When Kairus is quiet, they prefer not to talk about it or even pay attention to it. Eventually, the man will be okay too and will talk to them afterward.
“Who cares about you?” he sighed back to his friend.
“Oh, violent. I like it.”
Andrei laughed so hard because of Baste’s answer. Afterward, the two quarreled, even though what they were saying made little to no sense at all.
“Hey,” Baste barked incessantly. “Don’t you know that your customers are increasing because of me? Sebastian Clarete in the house!”
Instead of paying any attention, Isaiah turned his attention to the man who had been silent. That happens often, but he still doesn’t get used to it.
“Let’s eat,” Kairus Hernandez said, then quickly raised his hands to call a staff member.
When Maeluthe saw that, she sped up her walk even more. All the other waitresses were busy, and she was just left staring at them. In fact, her first day at work was not so tiring. It’s just that she’s not really used to seeing many people — that’s probably what’s more tiring for her.
“Good morning–”
“She’s new, Sai?” A man in a hat stopped him from speaking, so she stared at him.
“Yes, Sir. I am–”
“She’s Maeluthe Legson. She’s my new employee,” Isiaah answered.
“Really? I am Sebastian Clarete. Do you know me?”
Maeluthe quickly frowned at the question. What’s wrong with this man?
“Your face looks really familiar. . .” The girl’s gaze changed to the other man she was with. “Your face looks like my next girlfriend.”
A few seconds of silence prevailed on that table. Even before the men could laugh, Maeluthe’s response had become sharp. “I don’t know you, Sir.”
The laughter continued, as it led by Isiaah. That was epic! It’s so funny because this will be the first one in his while career, Baste’s overly confident was slapped by another woman.
Wow!
“What do you want to order?” Maeluthe asked.
“I think I like her.” Baste, who was still blushing, was not in his own self. Andrei next to him just hit his friend.
“Mae, you should go back there. Just send Erik here,” Isiaah said quickly while looking at the woman intently.
“What? Isai! I still want to talk to her–”
“You can’t.” Isiaah's thunderous voice remains.
Even Maeluthe was already confused as to what she might be done with them.
“Why? I could say that she’s single–”
“Baste, not all the single women are interested in you!” Andrei interjected, and Kairus laughed.
“No one would even get angry, right, Sai?”
Isiaah was stunned by that question and then turned to Maeluthe.
He knew his friend. He will never stop teasing the woman if she does not speak.
“We should talk. I mean no harm. I have no intention of rushing–”
“She’s mine,” Isiaah answered quickly in front of the four; Andrei, Kairus, Baste, and Maeluthe.
He also couldn’t understand why it came out of his mouth, but that’s up to him. He clenched his fist as he felt ashamed of Maeluthe’s stares.
“She’s mine. . .” His voice sounded like a broken record when he repeated it. “D-Don’t talk to her.”
