Chapter 86 - OVER AND OVER AGAIN

SIENNA.

I was relying on Vincent to help out with my mom. She was going through some serious stuff, and she needed me there for her. And since I had a rich husband, I was sure he would lend me the money to help my mother, too. After all, she was his mother-in-law.

My heart was pounding like crazy. My veins were on fire and I was freaking out.

I was gonna go in and ask for what I wanted so badly, since I had come this far.

Having that in mind, I strolled into the hallway. The silence here was suffocating. I checked out the house where I used to be happy until ten weeks ago. Nice and calm. Until my parents crashed our party. And that’s when everything went wrong.

I nervously headed to Aiden’s office, where he’s usually found. As I was going to the office, I noticed the gazebo and...

If I couldn’t get rid of those thoughts, coming here would be pointless. I really didn’t wanna give in to his temptation again.

I took a deep breath and gave the door a little tap.

“Come on in!” I heard him speak in a hushed tone. Can you believe I had to knock on doors in my own house? There was something that prevented me from not doing it.

I opened the door and popped my head in. The way he looked at me was worth everything. He was definitely not expecting me to be the one at the door. “Sienna? Come in, please...” he said politely. Now his voice was all relaxed and friendly.

“Thanks...” I croaked and cleared my throat before moving closer to him. It was like willingly walking into a lion’s den, and now I was waiting for the beast to pounce. Instead, Aiden hurriedly pulled out my chair, eager to make me comfortable.

“Here, take a seat!” he gestured towards the cozy chair.

I couldn’t help but find his courtesy to be quite unusual. In different situations, his primal instincts would take over, and he would passionately make love to me until my screams echoed his name.

My cheeks were definitely burning with embarrassment. I pushed that thought away, lowering my head slightly, so I could maintain eye contact and keep the conversation going.

“I am sorry to bother you while you are busy…”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” he scoffed, rolling his eyes at my absurd comment. “Don’t worry, you’re not bothering me. No chance, never have and never will. Honestly, I’m shocked that you’re here,” he admitted, crossing his arms.

I mean, it was kind of shocking considering our last encounter. There were moments when I couldn’t help but question why I had ended up here.

“I’m just here on business,” I said, eager to finish this up fast.

“Business? Wait, you want to do business with me?”

“Definitely!” I said, trying not to choke.

Take it easy, Sienna. Whatever you do, don’t show him your vulnerability!

I changed my voice again and kept talking.

“I need you to help my mother, Aiden!” I said, barely getting the words out, staring at his mean glare.

“What do you mean by that?” he asked, acting like he didn’t catch what I said. “I don’t think I understand you,” he continued in the same puzzled tone.

“Alright, let me break it down for you. Last week, I received a very devastating piece of news. My mom is in rehab and…”

His eyes only got larger.

“You need money to sober her up?” he asked mockingly.

He looked like he was about to burst into a grin. How dared he! But what bugged me the most was that he had every right to do it. I acted like a brat and now I was paying the price. If I hadn’t been so forward, I wouldn’t be here now, imploring Aiden.

“Don’t joke about that!” I yelled.

“You want me to give you money for your mother too? That is not in the contract. God, Sienna, your mother is all over the front pages of the tabloids.”

Aiden gave me the VIP from his desk drawer. I grabbed it right away and sure enough; she was on the front page, hair everywhere, fresh out of rehab. But I already knew that. Couldn’t believe Aiden knew and said nothing.

“Get my point?” Aiden asked, grinning and stirring up more trouble. “She is making a fool out of herself and my reputation also,”

“But...how? It doesn’t matter anymore. People have probably already put it behind them,” I soothed myself.

“Don’t count on it,” Aiden said, showing me the laptop with my mom’s pics plastered all over social media.

“OMG!” I gasped, covering my mouth.

“Sienna, everyone’s gonna be talking about her for a while. All this would damage my business,”

“Your business...” I said between sobs, but I had to pull myself together and remember why I was really there.

Aiden shouldn’t give a damn. We were definitely gonna sign the divorce papers soon, especially after all this. Even if he tried to explain it away, things wouldn’t work out. “But enough about that. Let’s get back to what I care about. Me begging for your help” I resumed the argument.

“Oh yes, the money you need. And you mean the same money I would have to write a check for?” he asked me.

“Ah, so you do get it,” I fired back, referring to what he said earlier.

“Tell me more about it.”

His stubborn refusal to know anything really got on my nerves.

"Like I mentioned earlier, I need your money. I’d totally pay it back.”

“Oh, I understand. So this is for the higher purpose,”

He was really pissing me off, but I couldn’t lose my cool.

“I spoke to my mother, and she seems to regret what she got herself into. More than that, she apologized for not telling me earlier.” I said proudly.

“Well, that’s intriguing. Great job! So?”

I was not happy with any of the lines.

“What do you mean, so? I need you to help me get my mom back on track.” I said, getting a little louder.

It really ticked me off because he fully grasped what I was saying, but he found pleasure in getting under my skin.

“Oh, I understand now. Because you thought if I invested a lot of money in your sister’s treatment, you figured I could do the same for your mother. I have to remind you again that’s not in the contract.”

“Couldn’t have said it better,” I said, putting aside my ego and my anger.

“Give me a sec to wrap my head around it. My answer is… no!”

His firm response felt like a punch to the back of my head. He said it so casually and it made me so mad.

“Wait, you’re saying no? You need to help, seriously. I am your… wife, for crying out loud!” I lost it and stood up. That was a major screw-up. As soon as I stepped out of my safe spot, Aiden came creeping up on me.

“What part of no is not clear to you, my… wife?” He said, and he made sure to point out the last word.

He began poking my jaw with his finger. His touch brought me to life.

Out of nowhere, my body recalled all the times he did whatever he wanted with me. He pounced on me like a predator. Ugh, my body was so sensitive, even to his breathing. “I’m shocked you remembered being my wife and all.”

“Then you leave me no choice but to cancel the contract,” I retorted.

“That would mean canceling your sister’s life. So dramatic, Sienna!”

All of a sudden, he had a totally different energy. It got darker. Then he started walking all creepy-like around me. I wish I had the balls to speak up, but I could hear his heart racing. And it wasn’t emotional.

I was so still, barely able to breathe. Aiden took advantage of my not being able to defend myself and forced me to face him. His eyes were so powerful, they went straight through me. I could feel my knees getting weak just thinking about his voice in that situation. Oh man, how am I gonna survive this?

“What you’re asking, Sienna, is a piece of cake. But not for you, love. I’ll help you out, babe! But it’s gonna cost you.”

Hah, I knew it all along! I knew it, damn it! Damn you, Aiden!

“Ok, name your price Aiden Roberts!”

“One night fucking you until you scream my name over and over again!”
