Chapter 72 - WHAT YOU HAVE IN STORE

SIENNA.

Aiden’s gaze widened as he edged closer to me. Even though I knew how big of a mistake I made, I stuck to my guns.

I shrugged my coat off and casually tossed it onto the nearest chair as he sauntered away from the doorway, closing the distance between us.

“You’re not buying it, huh?” he remarked, his confidence unshakable.

“What?” I asked, taken aback by his certainty.

“I just don’t buy into your song and dance,” he continued, unfazed. “I’m pretty sure something changed inside you when our eyes met, even with all the animosity you claim to have for me.”

Aiden’s words hit me hard, causing all sorts of mixed feelings. Even though I argued, deep down, I knew he was right.

His presence filled the room, making it intense.

“I can’t deny there’s a connection,” I admitted reluctantly.

Aiden had this sly smile on his face, his eyes shining with amusement and satisfaction.

“See? I knew you couldn’t resist me,” he joked.

I rolled my eyes, attempting to mask the flutter of butterflies in my stomach.

“Don’t get ahead of yourself,” I retorted, though my heart wasn’t entirely in it.

We didn’t say anything for a while, but there was so much going on in our heads.

“What now?” Aiden taunted, his grin widening as he leaned in closer.

I matched his playful demeanor, a smirk playing on my lips.

“Let’s see if you’ve got more than just charm,” I replied, sounding challenging.

Aiden chuckled, a glimmer of mischief in his eyes.

“Oh, I’ve got plenty more where that came from,” he replied, his confidence unwavering.

“I don’t believe it. Prove me wrong,” I smirked, raising an eyebrow in mock skepticism.

Aiden’s grin turned into a smirk.

“Be careful what you wish for,” he said with a mischievous tone.

I couldn’t help but laugh. Our conversation was smooth as butter.

“Bring it on,” I warded off, a thrill of excitement coursing through me.

After uttering those words, he smoothly moved his hand from my cleavage to my waist. His touch made me realize how vulnerable I was around him.

“See that? The way your body reacts and how open you are to me makes me wonder if you really hate me,” he said with a cocky grin, sounding pretty sure of himself.

I fought against the urge to roll my eyes, but it was a losing battle. My eyes betrayed my exasperation, rolling involuntarily at his audacity.

He chuckled, amused by my reaction. “Oh, come on, don’t be like that,” he scolded playfully, his fingers tracing circles on my waist.

I sighed, trying to regain my composure.

“You’re totally mistaken if you believe that wanting someone equals affection,” I replied.

He shrugged nonchalantly, his gaze unwavering.

“Maybe,” he admitted. “But there’s no denying the chemistry between us.”

I couldn’t deny the truth in his words, no matter how much I wanted to. Despite my best efforts to resist him, there was an undeniable pull between us, drawing us together like magnets.

But accepting that meant accepting how vulnerable I was, and I wasn’t ready for that truth.

So I pushed back, pretending to be unbothered, but his touch still gave me shivers.

But deep down, I knew that no matter how hard I tried to deny it, a part of me longed for his touch, craved the intoxicating rush of desire that swept through me whenever he was near.

As we stood there, silently challenging each other, I started to think that maybe there was more to our bond than I wanted to admit.

But for now, I ignored those thoughts and just focused on the intense attraction between us.

And as his hand lingered on my waist, I couldn’t help but wonder where this forbidden attraction would lead us next.

“You’re awfully hopeful, considering it’s all gonna wrap up once my sister’s back on her feet and we scatter like leaves in the wind,” I remarked, but not convinced of my words.

He shrugged, that irritating confidence of his shining through once again.

“I’d bet you a dime that’s exactly what won’t happen,” he retorted, his smirk daring me to challenge him.

I shot him a warning look.

“Don’t test your luck,” I warned, slightly annoyed.

But instead of backing down, Aiden’s grin only widened, radiating a warmth that was impossible to ignore. When he smiled like that, he was utterly captivating.

“Sienna, you’ve got the power,” he insisted, his gaze unwavering. “You just need to figure out how to handle it.”

His words struck a chord within me, stirring something deep within my soul. I’ve felt so powerless for a while, just going with the flow of life with no say in my own future.

Aiden’s words gave me hope I could find happiness if I had the guts to take control.

I nodded slowly, mulling over his words.

“And how exactly do you suggest I do that?” I asked, my curiosity piqued despite myself.

Aiden’s grin softened into a gentle smile.

“By embracing who you are,” he replied. “By trusting in yourself and your abilities.”

I pondered his words, and they wrapped around me like a cozy blanket. Maybe he was onto something after all.

But old habits die hard, and the idea of owning my power was pretty scary, to be honest.

Aiden seemed to sense my hesitation, his gaze filled with understanding. “It’s not gonna be easy,” he admitted. “But I believe in you, Sienna. And I know you’re capable of more than you realize.”

I shook my head at him, a small smile playing on my lips.

“But I haven’t got a clue how to do that. You gotta teach me!” I exclaimed in desperation.

His face relaxed, showing that he finally got it. Without hesitation, he reached out and pulled me close, catching me off guard. I stumbled, caught off balance, and found myself pressed against his chest, his warmth enveloping me.

Instinctively, I reached out to steady myself, my hands coming to rest on his broad shoulders. But the moment I felt the solid strength of his body beneath my fingertips, I froze, overwhelmed by a sudden rush of sensations.

I leaned into him, allowing myself to be drawn closer as his fingertips traced a gentle path up my arms and over my back. Every touch gave me chills and lit a fire inside me that I couldn’t ignore.

It was like time stood still as we held each other, forgetting everything else. I was in awe of the magic we shared when he touched me.

But during all our emotions, there was this peaceful feeling, like we knew we were exactly where we were supposed to be.

His fingers roamed all over me, and I just gave in to the moment, loving every second of our crazy attraction.

Our bodies were so close, and it felt amazing. Each touch sent shivers down my spine and made the passion grow stronger.

At that moment, I realized I was experiencing something mind-blowing that words couldn’t describe.

As his touch drove me wild with pleasure, I would imagine all the other amazing things we’d discover together.

But for now, I was just happy to be there, enjoying the amazing feeling of this connection, knowing that with him, anything could happen.

His intense dark blue eyes locked onto my lips as he towered over me. Slowly, deliberately, he lifted his hands until they cradled my head, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through me. I shivered as his thumb grazed my lips, a gesture both tender and possessive.

“Your voice,” he murmured. “You’ve gotta use it. Speak up, demand to be heard.”

His words were heavy.

“And your body,” he said. “It’s mine to command. So use that power on me, baby.”

I swallowed hard, the intensity of his gaze making it difficult to form rational thoughts. But deep down, something sparked in me, a defiance that wouldn’t go away.

I lifted my chin and looked him straight in the eye.

“I will,” I vowed, my voice stronger than I had ever heard it before. “I’ll use every ounce of power I have to make myself heard.”

His lips curved into a satisfied smile, his approval clear in the warmth of his touch.

“That’s my girl!” he praised, his eyes smoldering with desire as he pulled me closer.

I met his gaze with a playful smirk.

“Oh, I’m just getting started,” I teased him.

He grinned wider. The air was thick with excitement.

“Is that so?” he shot back, sounding all defiant. “Well, I can’t wait to see what else you’ve got in store.”
