Chapter 140 A BIG MESS
Chapter 140 A BIG MESS
SAVANNAH'S POV
With red eyes and a calm resolve, I watch the video once more before I post it.
I make sure to edit it and delete the audio part of it, so what's just showing us Dante standing too close to Micah in their shared living area, one hand braced right in the wall, right beside Micah’s head.
Micah looks so small, and backed up against a wall with his face slightly turned away in discomfort.
The actual context of the video is unnecessary, but what the outsiders believe is the only important thing.
The body language reads like intimidation.
Like a captain of a prestigious team using his power and status to corner a rookie.
Exactly what I want everyone to see, I mean who doesn't like a good old fashioned bullying in men's sports?
I calmly type out the caption carefully under my anonymous blog account, before rereading it once more:
“KING UNIVERSITY DRAMA!!!
Interesting style of leadership from beloved star captain, Dante King. Is this how Dante King “mentors” rookies? Looks like a rookie is already paying the price for someone else’s ego due to his immense talent.
There.
It's clean, precise and damning, without spelling out Micah’s name to the press.
This is the type of thing that will spread and make Dante look incredibly toxic, whilst making Micah the innocent victim.
Without any more edits, I hit share and fall back to my seat.
The usual rush of control instantly floods through my body as I revel in the anonymous power I hold over everyone.
Who doesn't love the Internet?
But when my phone starts blowing up with notifications, my brows furrow before I turn to refresh my screen.
I mean I know it'll be a hit, but I didn't know it'll be this fast.
When my screen finally refreshes, my stomach instantly drops to the floor
The post…
It–!
Oh! Fuck!!!
No, no–!!
I instantly move and delete the post, but it's exactly this time the shitty wifi starts acting up once more.
The comments and messages start pouring in, both from the post my private number.
“Wait, is Savannah being for real?”
I quickly hit delete that specific comment with my name since it's taking so long to actually delete the post now.
“Woah! Is this real?!!’
No, no, no!!!
The post continues to gain crazy traction that I would have only been too happy for if it were a different case.
Fucking hell! Come on!!
The homepage slowly loads like a fucking sloth, before the delete icon pops up.
I instantly hit delete, but the fucker takes another two minutes before it finally deletes!
My eyes catch the outline of the latest comment just before the post is finally deleted.
“I can't believe this was posted by Savannah. I thought she and Micah were friends. Or did Micah agree to her posting something like this?”
No, no, no, no!
Fuck no!
Staring at me for a long time, is the booming student's official gossip group chat.
What I had posted previously with smug confidence is now biting me greatly in the ass.
The post wasn't put up on the blogs, or even my anonymous account, it was actually on the official King's University general student group chat for gossip.
The same one with thousands of members that shows student's real names and student IDs.
The same one I used a different student's account to put videos and photos about me and Micah in my brother's place.
Fuck!
And right now, currently trending right there at the top page of the group chat, is my full name, student's ID and a different download of the video I just deleted.
No,no,no–!
I move to delete it once more, but I'm stopped because I'm not the owner of the post.
A different bastard downloaded the video and reposted it using my name and ID, already gathering more than 5,000+ likes and comments.
Fuck!
What should I do? It's over.
“Wait, is this real?”
“Savannah actually posted this with her real account?”
“Yeah she did. I saw it on her officials before she quickly deleted it.”
“But how is she getting footage of Dante and Micah in their suite?”
“I can't believe she foolishly used her actual account.”
.
.
.
I calmly stare at the screen as the likes and comments on the post climb in real time, putting it right at the top of the webpage.
My pulse feels like a sick hammer to my throat, as I can swallow back the sudden urge I have to puke.
This wasn't the plan.
My whole identity and persona is relying on the anonymity I had.
I was supposed to be and stay the concerned friend in public while the narrative I put out did its work in the shadows.
How…?!
Now everyone knows what I did and can easily see who put it out there.
My hands are shaking so hard that I nearly drop my phone. I close my eyes as I see screenshots are already being shared around.
It's okay.
It'll all be okay.
This is fixable!
It is!
.
.
.
It is absolutely okay and fixable.
I just have to think, and I'll fix everything!
I was only trying to protect Micah and show him who is worthy of him.
Dante is too controlling to him, and cornered Micah into entering a relationship with him.
I've managed to save him from that toxic relationship, and now I'm trying to gain the sympathy of the public for him.
He'll understand my reason why, Micah will understand.
Micah should understand I'm the only one watching out for him, and willing to expose Dante for him.
My personal phone immediately starts lighting up with several messages that it hangs for a second.
A couple of girls from the cheer squad, a few from the people I attend classes with, and a few anonymous numbers calling me several slurs.
I ignore them all and open the camera feed from Micah’s suite instead.
Micah is standing right in the middle of the suite, looking sick.
Luckily, Dante is not with him, but he is just staring calmly at his phone in the kitchen area, cooking his disgusting slop he calls food.
Micah looks rather sick, and betrayed from here on the screen.
I whisper at the screen, “I did this all for you.”
But then one new message instantly cuts through everyone else's, right at the top of my priority messages on my phone. It's one of the cheer squad managers.
“Savannah, Coach and the admin office have seen the video you put out. You're now officially being reported and will stand before a disciplinary committee very soon.”
Ahh fuck.
Another derogatory message from an anonymous number pops right up, turning my expression ugly as I fling the phone against my bed.
Fucking hell!
