Chapter 85 Thinking It Was a Dream, But He Really Came
Realizing that her words were too harsh, Bella quickly explained, "That's not what I meant."
Avila stood up, looking down at her from a higher position, his voice cold and emotionless. "Stay put and take care of your own life. The little favor your mother owed me will eventually be exhausted. And when that day comes... I won't give you any mercy."
"..."
Bella's face was filled with fear.
After all these years, it was the first time she heard him speak to her in such a cold manner.
She moved her lips, but couldn't find a suitable phrase. She could only watch him leave helplessly.
Outside the ward.
Avila walked out, and Lennon immediately stepped forward. "Mr. Avila."
"What is it?"
Lennon hesitated for a moment and took something out of his pocket, placing it in his palm with his hand up.
A silver ring, simple and unadorned, lay quietly in the man's hand.
His pupils contracted, and Avila seemed as if his throat was being choked, finding it hard to swallow.
Lennon nodded and said, "Madam forgot it at the hotel."
Forgot?
More like discarded!
Avila reached out and took the plain ring, gently rubbing its surface. "Book a flight to Weiyuan three days from now."
"Alright, Mr. Avila."
Putting the ring into his pocket, he turned around expressionlessly and walked a few steps before facing Lennon again. "Keep an eye on Bella, don't let her continue to fool around!"
Lennon looked hesitant, but Avila had already walked away.
They say Lara has a bad temper, while the violinist, Bella, is gentle and indifferent. But only after spending time with them did Lennon realize that Bella's straightforward stubbornness was much more approachable than Lara's silent difficult behavior.
Lennon let out a heavy sigh. He was starting to become afraid of Bella.
...
Three days later.
Vienna, Sach Grand Hotel.
Lara was suffering from travel blues.
It's just ridiculous. She has traveled to dozens of countries and has never experienced travel blues before.
She went to the hospital for a check-up, and the doctor finally said she had a bacterial imbalance and prescribed a box of probiotics for her.
She took them for three days... but there was no effect at all.
She was still vomiting and had diarrhea.
However, travel blues also had its benefits.
In the morning, she weighed herself and found that she had lost five pounds in three days, reaching less than ninety pounds for the first time.
Lara took out her phone and captured this memorable moment, immediately sharing it on her social media, and even tagged Chloe specifically.
Looking at the silent phone, her excitement waned, and she fell heavily onto the bed.
It had been nearly four days in Vienna, but she couldn't reach Chloe at all.
Originally, she had agreed with Chloe to leave Emberton City and come to Vienna directly, as Chloe was familiar with this place, making it convenient to find a comfortable place for her father to rest and recuperate.
Everything went smoothly, but now she couldn't find Chloe, and with her discomfort, Lara suddenly fell ill.
In the evening, she started to have a high fever, feeling drowsy and disoriented.
After taking some fever-reducing medicine, her temperature temporarily dropped, but she still had a low-grade fever.
The bodyguard wanted to take her to the hospital, but she was scared of seeking medical treatment abroad and immediately refused.
It was already midnight when she felt the fever getting worse, and as she got up to find water, she was startled by a sudden knocking on the door.
She glanced at the time; it was two in the morning. Someone knocking on the door at this hour, in a foreign country, even Lara, who was bold, didn't dare to open the door.
Helpless, Lara quietly walked to the door and looked outside through the peephole.
Before she could see anything, her phone suddenly rang, causing her to startle and her heart to race.
Lara's hand shook as she answered the call, "Hello?"
"Open the door!"
"..."
She moved the phone away to see the caller ID.
Lara glanced at the incoming call display and then put it to her ear, "What kind of prank is this?"
"I'm outside, open the door!"
"Avila..."
"If you don't want a complaint, open the door!"
The man abruptly ended the call.
Lara was stunned and felt a lack of reality. She immediately crawled to the peephole to look outside.
The man had a cold and handsome appearance, looking impatient after the long journey and being covered in dust while standing at the door.
As he raised his hand to knock on the door with a gift, she opened the door.
The man lowered his head and looked at her pale face.
Lara stood in the doorway, "Why did you come?"
Avila suddenly reached out and touched her face, her skin abnormally hot.
Lara frowned and pushed his hand away, taking a step back, "What are you doing?"
Taking advantage of the opening, Avila squeezed in with his suitcase and closed the door behind him.
Due to her fever, Lara's reactions became sluggish, and for several seconds, she could only foolishly stare at him.
But he didn't linger and went straight to the living room with his suitcase. "What are you standing there for? Come over here."
It was only when the man's cold command rang out that she woke up from her daze.
So, it wasn't her mistaken delusion, Avila really came!
Rubbing her temples, Lara looked down at the man sitting in the center of the sofa, "Why did you come?"
After a long flight, the fatigue showed on the man's brow, "It's our honeymoon, what's strange about me coming?"
"Mr. Avila, did you make a mistake? I clearly told you that day that I wanted to be alone..."
Before she finished her sentence, she screamed as she was forcefully pulled to sit on the man's lap.
After a dizzy spell, she found herself being held tightly against his chest. She had no strength due to her fever and the discomfort from the journey.
Avila touched her forehead, frowning at the temperature.
Licking her dry lips, her eyes were filled with moisture due to her illness, making her appear particularly vulnerable. "I want water."
Avila reached out and picked up the water from the coffee table, bringing it to her lips.
Lara obediently drank, feeling really thirsty as she finished the whole cup of water in one go.
He wiped the traces of water from the corner of her mouth with his hand. "Do you need more?"
She closed her eyes and shook her head, unconsciously rubbing against his chest before falling asleep again.
Avila took a deep breath, gritting his teeth as he carried her to the bedroom. With each step, his arm experienced intense pain.
He placed her gently on the bed, his own body damp with sweat.
Avila took out his phone and made a call, arranging for a doctor to come and scolding his bodyguard along the way.
After the doctor arrived and administered a drip, her temperature came down, and it was already daylight.
Once the doctor left, Avila finally had a moment to take a shower.
When he emerged from the bathroom feeling refreshed, the woman on the bed was already awake.
Hearing footsteps, Lara looked over, and her expression instantly turned cold. She had thought it was all a dream when she was delirious from the fever.
Turns out, he really came!
He stood her up at the wedding, after Bella had her blood transfusion, the shameless bastard appeared again!
Hmm.
Lara sneered, sitting up on the bed and combing her long hair. "Mr. Avila, care to explain?"
