Chapter 66 A Date with a Beautiful Girl

On the table, Thurman had already prepared lunch for her.

His face turned red as he awkwardly touched the back of his head. "I didn't know what you liked to eat, so I just ordered some random dishes."

Lara sat down and glanced at the food on the plate, smiling. "It's okay, anything is delicious when you're hungry."

Although she was picky, she understood that in a cafeteria like this, it was only about filling one's stomach, with no room for pickiness.

As they ate, Lara could sense the continuous gazes from people around her. She was accustomed to such attention, but the person across from her clearly wasn't. His handsome face turned red again.

Lara couldn't help but laugh and say, "It seems like you blush easily?"

Thurman touched his face and awkwardly replied, "I blush when I'm nervous or embarrassed. You're making fun of me?"

It was a physiological reaction that he couldn't control, and he often regretted it.

Lara picked up her chopsticks and ate one of the dishes, casually commenting, "It's cute.

Oh no, it's quite cute," Lara said.

"..." Thurman remained speechless.

Cute...?

A faint smile appeared on the corner of Thurman's mouth. It was the first time someone had complimented him for being cute, and he didn't mind the feeling at all.

He stole a glance at the beautiful girl sitting across from him. Eating with the campus Belle, she was truly different from others, attracting envy from those around. Their admiring gazes almost overwhelmed him.

Men and women have different focuses.

Unlike Thurman, Lara noticed the disdainful and jealous glances from the girls. She smirked, realizing that this senior was not only a top student but popular as well.

After lunch, the two walked side by side, appearing just like a couple in an idol drama.

Thurman looked at the scorching sun and suggested, "Junior, I don't have classes this afternoon. How about...?"

Lara sighed, "I have classes this afternoon, and I also need to make up for a failed exam. It's annoying."

"Make up for an exam?"

"Yeah."

"Which course did you fail?"

"..."

Coincidentally, Thurman also took the same course that Lara failed.

"Junior, if you don't mind, I can help you catch up with the missed lectures and provide guidance for the make-up exam."

"Are you serious?"

"I am."

Lara clapped her hands in excitement, "Great! It's a deal then, and you better not go back on your word!"

Thurman bashfully smiled and lowered his head, "I won't."

The two agreed on a time for their remedial classes and went their separate ways.

Recalling the fear of being dominated by Avila during high school tutoring sessions, Lara naturally chose a gentle and shy senior. After all, who would willingly subject themselves to abuse?

After school, as expected, Thurman was waiting for her at the school gate, alongside his driver who had been waiting for a while.

Lara called Avila, and Lennon picked up the call. She informed him that she was hanging out with classmates for make-up classes.

Observing the serious atmosphere in the meeting room, Lennon decided to report back after the meeting was over.

Lara chose a well-situated coffee shop and ordered drinks. Sitting side by side, the two worked attentively.

As expected of a top student, Thurman had a unique and interesting way of teaching, making it easy to understand.

Lara was already smart, so she quickly grasped the concepts.

They were sitting very close to each other. Thurman could slightly turn his head and see the girl's delicate porcelain-like face, as well as catch a faint fragrance emanating from her.

His face would blush uncontrollably.

Lara soon noticed this and couldn't help teasing, "Senior, are you feeling nervous or embarrassed?"

Thurman dared not look at her and touched his face, "I'm... I'm sorry."

Suddenly, Lara picked up her ice coffee and pressed it against his face, saying, "Cool down."

The cold sensation relieved the heat on his face. Thurman held onto the coffee cup and said, "Thank you."

Lara burst into laughter when she saw him actually pressing the cup against his face. She had grown up after all these years, yet...

I've never seen such an innocent and honest man before. Thurman looked at her with confusion.

Lara covered her mouth, "Stop laughing, let's continue the class." This cute tutor was much better than Avila, who had a cold and serious demeanor!

...

On the other side, the car left the Avila Group building. Avila sat expressionless in the back seat, playing with his phone.

He then noticed the call record for the meeting time. "What did she say on the phone?"

The man's calm and cold voice rang out.

Lennon sat in the passenger seat, stunned for a moment, and quickly responded, "Madam said she will have a study session with her classmates after school and will be late coming back."

Classmates? A red tomato-like face appeared in Avila's mind. He didn't say anything, but the atmosphere in the car dropped unexpectedly.

Lennon stole a glance through the rearview mirror and was frozen by the man's gloomy expression.

What's wrong with this? Lennon felt uneasy.

Mr. Blackmore, one of the board shareholders, celebrated his twentieth wedding anniversary with a party.

Naturally, Avila had to attend and bring a gift selected by his secretary.

Mr. and Mrs. Blackmore cut the cake, and the party officially began. Avila sat in a dimly lit corner.

With his current status and position, he only needed to show up at such occasions as a formality, so he wanted to leave after a while.

Just as he was about to get up, a couple sat down next to him, and the reason Avila hesitated to leave was that he heard a familiar name come from their mouths.

Following their gaze, he saw Laura dancing with Gregory on the dance floor, after Mr. and Mrs. Blackmore's first dance.

Avila frowned. When did Gregory come back?

Just as he was thinking, he heard the conversation between the couple. "Sis, I'm leaving first."

"Why are you leaving so soon? You just got here."

"If you had told me earlier that Laura was here, I wouldn't have come."

"Tsk, tsk, if people didn’t know better, they'd think you have some kind of relationship with Laura."

"What kind of relationship can I have with her? Sis, I'm telling you, you're not allowed to let her take care of Baby anymore."

The woman sighed, raised her delicately fair chin with her hand, and a hint of helplessness flowed in her seductive eyes.

"Thurman, you're really no fun. Laura is, after all, my best friend. If scolding her last time wasn't enough, when are you going to stop being so awkward?"

Thurman glanced at the woman sideways, "Whose daughter is our baby after all? Like mother, like daughter. Do you want Baby to learn from that woman?"

"Alright, alright. Since you're here, what's the need for all this truthfulness? Besides, Gregory's divorce is finalized, so Laura finally got what she wanted," Elizabeth said.

"Elizabeth!" Thurman's anger was evident as he called out her name with both her first and last name.

Elizabeth put away her nonchalant smile. "Alright, I understand. From now on, I won't let Baby go out with her. Is that good enough?"

Thurman was not pleased and couldn't be bothered with his sister's dismissive attitude.

Elizabeth held her glass and gently swirled it before remembering something. She asked, "By the way, the driver said he picked you up from the coffee shop and mentioned that you had a date with a particularly beautiful girl. Is there any truth to that?"

A Date!
