Episode 10

★Alpha Jesse★

I am currently on the highway in my expensive car, feeling happy as I make my way to meet up with Alpha Dave. Suddenly, my phone rings and I check the caller ID to see that it's Dave.

Without hesitation, I answer the call and say, "I'm on my way."

Dave responds, "Okay, I hope you have the necessary documents with you. I'm referring to the ones that were given to you the other day."

As I looked around my car, I noticed that the documents were right beside me. "Yeah, it..." I started to respond, but then I realized that something was amiss. The document in my hand didn't seem to be the correct one.

"Sorry, just a moment," I said as I pulled over and carefully inspected the documents.

"Damn it!" I exclaimed, realizing that I had brought the wrong one.

"Is everything okay?" Alpha Dave asked, noting the concern in my voice.

"I'm sorry, but I won't be able to meet up with you as planned. However, I promise to be there as soon as possible," I assured Alpha Dave. Despite my reassurances, he wanted to know the reason for the delay since he was already waiting for me.

"So, what's causing the delay? Is everything alright?" he asked.

"Everything is fine, but I discovered that I have the wrong document with me. I need to go back home to retrieve the correct one," I explained.

"Alright, but please be more careful," Alpha Dave replied before ending the call.

The company I want to buy from him was highly competitive, with numerous Alphas trying to buy it too. It was a significant source of wealth, and losing even a portion of it could be devastating.

Although I had some of the necessary documents with me, I couldn't afford to be complacent. Any one of my rivals could easily take advantage of my mistake, so I needed to act quickly and retrieve the correct documents from home.

I immediately reversed my car and headed straight home to retrieve the correct documents.

★LIAM★

After spending some time in the hospital, today was finally the day that I would be discharged. My uncle came to visit me while I was still in the ward.

"Alright, get up young man. It's time to go home," my uncle, Sydney, said to me as I stood up from my sickbed and stretched, letting out a yawn.

"I can't wait to see my mum and sister. They must be missing me," I said excitedly.

My uncle shook his head silently - little did I know that some terrible news awaited me. We made our way to his car and left the hospital.

To tell you the truth, this hospital is incredibly vast, boasting a massive building.

As we drove away from the hospital, I found myself wondering how such a sizable medical facility could exist in my hometown without my knowledge.

Despite my initial confusion, I remained quiet, realizing that this could be due to my parents' limited financial means.

It's possible that they simply didn't have the funds to bring us to this place, which would explain our lack of familiarity with it.

"Would you like to eat something?" Uncle Sydney asked as he picked up the pizza he had bought for me.

I eagerly took it from him and asked, "How did you know this is my favorite?" as I opened the package and started eating.

"Come on, Liam. Don't forget that you spent some time with me when you were little," he reminded me.

"You're right, Uncle," I replied, enjoying the pizza and looking around.

We had just left the hospital, and now we were driving around the city, but to my surprise, I still couldn't recognize my location. I couldn't understand how it was possible for me to be in my own city and yet be so disoriented. I couldn't resist my curiosity any longer, so I decided to ask Sydney.

"Sydney, where are we exactly? I can't seem to figure it out," I said, baffled.

"I think it's best we discuss that when we get home, Liam," he replied with a smile, hinting that there was more to this than meets the eye. I looked at him inquisitively, wondering what he could be hiding from me.

I couldn't comprehend what was happening. Why did Sydney need to wait until we were home to tell me why he had taken me out of the city to get treated? I couldn't help but wonder if there was more to the story than he was letting on. However, I decided to push my concerns aside since we were only a couple of minutes away from home.

I calmed down and enjoyed my pizza in peace as we drove along the highway. After a few minutes, we arrived at a stunning mansion.

We had arrived at my uncle's house, which was a magnificent mansion. My uncle was a wealthy man, and I had visited his home before. Words cannot describe the opulence of his house; it's simply breathtaking.

As soon as the car pulled up, I got out and walked into the house as if I owned the place. My uncle followed me inside, and as soon as we entered, I collapsed onto the couch, feeling completely drained and exhausted.

"I understand that you're likely feeling tired," Uncle Sydney said as he made his way over to the freezer to retrieve some chilled drinks. "You could use a bit of refreshment," he added as he placed them on the table.

"Thank you, but I don't require it. I simply need you to be direct and inform me of what's happening," I responded, while he continued to insist.

He then proceeded to take a cup from the table, pour some of the drink into it, and hand it to me.

Since he was insistent, I didn't hesitate to accept the drink from him. I took a small sip and waited for him to begin speaking.

"In regards to what you want to know," he said as I settled into my seat.

"I actually believe that you should be more appreciative of the fact that you are alive," he continued, as I gently placed the cup of drink back on the table.

"What are you trying to say?" I asked, as he let out a deep breath.

"Well, all I can tell you is that I was planning to spend some time at ThaiCity," he said, as I anxiously awaited to hear the bad news.

"But upon arriving, I discovered that your father had passed away," he said, as I rudely interrupted.

"I'm already aware of that! What I want to know is the whereabouts of my mother and sister," I exclaimed in a loud and harsh voice.

"I think you need to calm down, Liam. I'm still talking," he said, as I took a deep breath to compose myself.

"When I arrived, I found that your father had passed away, and you were covered in blood," he continued, and I listened intently, hoping for news about my mother and sister.

"I checked on you, and although you were not injured, you had fainted, so I took you," he said, but still, he hadn't provided me with any information about the whereabouts of my mother and sister.

"While trying to escape with you, I had to fight off some vampires," he said, causing me to widen my eyes in surprise.

Vampires? Do they even exist? And what do they have to do with my family? This was all so strange.

"Are you saying that there were real vampires?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yes, they were extremely dangerous. I managed to fend them off and escape with you," he replied.

"I realized that the city was no longer safe for us, so I brought you here for your own protection," he explained.

However, I found that his explanation held no significance to me because it still didn't answer the questions that were most important to me.

The only part of his story that caught my attention was when he mentioned that my family had been attacked by a group of vampires.

"So, what happened to my sister and my mother? Please, tell me, what about them?" I said, my voice quivering with emotion.

"I am still coming for that, Liam," he said, filling me with hope as I struggled to catch my breath.

"If you had listened carefully to my story, you would have realized that neither your mother nor your sister were present," Sydney replied, causing tears to stream down my face.

"What does that mean?" I asked, my voice heavy with sorrow.

Sydney took a step closer and sat beside me, patting me gently on the shoulder.

"If you were with your mother and sister before you fainted, then I fear they may be gone," he spoke solemnly.

"I did not see either of them, so it is possible that they are no longer with us. I cannot say where they might have gone, or whether they managed to escape. I do not know if they are still alive," Sydney continued, his voice heavy with uncertainty.

"I cannot say if they were killed. I did not catch even a glimpse of them," he added, his words laced with sorrow.

He spoke as tears flooded my heart, and I crumpled, covering my face and shedding tears.

"You need to be strong, Liam," he said, attempting to comfort me with a pat on my shoulder.

"What kind of strong are you talking about? It is my family!!" I shouted back, my voice thick with anger.

I cannot explain the force that overtook me as I kicked the table, sending it flying and smashing against the wall.

"Really?!" exclaimed Sydney in shock upon seeing my latest transaction, which appeared to be quite unusual.
