Chapter 36

Chapter 36
Sera pov

After the game, we had lunch and the teachers threw an after party for both academies. All students were currently in the hall, others were drinking while others were dancing considering the Aldich girls were here too.

“Come on, Seth! You’re just standing there!” Theo nudged me, laughter in his voice as he waved a cup of punch. “At least dance a little!”

I shook my head, tugging lightly at the hem of my jacket. “I… don’t really know how.” My gaze shifted nervously across the hall where students from both academies crowded the place.

The music was too loud for my liking, lights were spinning in different colors that will certainly bring me headache, and the scent of expensive perfume and alcohol mixed in made my stomach twist uncomfortably.

Theo rolled his eyes. “Relax! It’s a celebration, not a test!”

“I know,” I muttered, but my focus wasn’t on the music. It was on the boys. Kael, Alexander, Luca, and River seemed to be mingling, laughing, and occasionally shoving each other gently for fun.

My heart jumped every time Kael’s eyes flicked toward me when Luca decided to come over to where Theo and I was.

He stood besides me and he was leaning just a little too close, his hand was brushing mine as he talked animatedly.

“Luca…” I whispered under my breath, I wanted to tell him to back off because the way kael was glaring at me I knew he would flip any time but he didn’t hear me.

Then catching me off guard Luca leaned in, tilting his head with a stupid, drunken grin, and before I could register what was happening he pressed his lips against mine.

My hands shot up instinctively to push him away.

“Luca! Wait...” I gasped, My heart hammering.

What was he doing? We were in the middle of all students and this was not good. I can't risk having Luca expose me Infront of everyone.

But before he could lean in again a shadow blocked him. It was Kael.

After Luca saw kael,he spun around with his stupid drunken smirk and disappeared into the crowd.

Kael’s hand grabbed my wrist gently but firmly, pulling me back and to the corner far away from everyone. He pressed his chest slightly against mine as he spun me around toward a quieter corner of the hall.

I held my breath for a moment as his blue eyes raked over my body. His eyes were blazing, unreadable, but the fire in them was undeniable.

“Seth!,” he murmured under his breath, just enough for me to hear and then before I could even think about responding.... his lips were on mine.

Shock and disbelief crashed over me. I froze for a moment unsure where to put my hands, my mind was spinning. Then, instinctively, I kissed him back. Softly at first, then with more confidence as the tension and desire I’d been holding back for months erupted.

It was… intense, overwhelming.

Everything about him was intoxicating. The strength in his arms, the heat of his lips, the way his fingers brushed my hair made my chest ache with a need I didn’t fully understand.

We were so lost in the kiss when a sharp gasp broke the moment.

I pulled back slightly catching my breath as my eyes scanned the edge of the corner. Someone had seen us! Someone had clearly witnessed the kiss.

Kael cursed under his breath, the low sound vibrating against my ear. His hands tightened slightly on my shoulders, though not harshly. “Go,” he said, his voice was urgent. “ Go back to our room. I’ll find out who saw us.”

I nodded, my heart was racing, barely able to form the words. I stumbled backward, not taking my eyes off him, and then ran through the hall toward the dorms, Theo was calling after me that I didn’t hear.

Was he the one who saw us? It couldn't be. Right?

Once I was inside, I was finally able to breathe properly. My hands were shaking as I leaned against the door. My heart still raced, still had the taste of Kael’s lips lingering on my lips. Relief washed over me until I noticed the room wasn’t empty.

“Surprise!,” came a voice I knew all too well.

Juliette.

And behind her, her minions Camille and Elsa were smirking, and in their hands I saw my pads and other female items I had kept hidden for so long!

It was clear proof they intended to use this against me.

My heart sank to my stomach. “Y-you...
what are you doing here?” My voice shook, panic and rage twisting together.

Juliette stepped forward, her eyes were filled with obsession. “Oh, Seth… or should I say… Sera?. Don’t worry I know everything now. Every secret, every little lie you’ve been hiding. And trust me… I plan to expose you. In front of the whole school.”

My hands flew to my chest instinctively, and I realized just how vulnerable I’d been. I glanced at the items she was holding, my mind was racing to find a way out of this mess.

“Y-you wouldn’t dare,” I whispered, trying to sound braver than I felt.

“Oh, I would,” she said, stepping closer, her voice was smooth at the same time threatening. “And I have all the proof I need. The second I walk out of that door, everyone will know exactly who you are and Kael’s precious little boy will be gone.”

My chest tightened. I wanted to run, to scream, to call for Kael to help me but I knew better because I knew kael or anyone at that matter will never believe me or forgive.

I couldn’t risk giving her the satisfaction I wanted to say something when the door opened.

I froze. Was it Kael? He must have followed me, right? He had come to check on me after the kiss. Fear erupted inside me.

But it was Alexander.

Thank God!

He stepped into the room with a calm and composed manner as ever. His gaze swept over Juliette and her minions, and for a moment the room went still.

“ You will not say a word,” Alexander said, his presence was lethal and seemed to shut everyone up. “Or you’ll regret it, Juliette.”

Juliette and her minions froze, their eyes went wide and their mouths opening slightly, but no sound came out.

Then Juliette snapped. "Alex, what do you mean? She's a freaking girl in boys school. Why are you protecting her?"

Alexander took a step towards her and he raised his hand and smoothed Juliette maroon tie as he muttered. "I'm serious Juliette! You will not say anything to anyone! Now excuse yourself. get out"

Juliette huffed angrily and exited the room, her minions following her.

I sank against the wall, my chest was heaving dramatically and my fingers were trembling. Alexander’s presence saved me but it didn’t erase the fact that Juliette now knew everything about me.

Everything I’d tried to hide.

The last thing I heard before they left was a whisper from Elsa. It was too soft to reach anyone else but I heard it.

“She’s going to regret this…”
