Chapter 85 Taking control
Rave's eyes opened wide. No one, not even Azrael has been able to break into her barrier, unless she allowed it.
It just confirmed that Hazel had activated the orb and was a lot more powerful than she used to be and to make it worse, she didn't even have the seal yet.
“Where is he”?
She asked but Rave was speechless. Things weren't going her way, she had planned for years and it just felt like Hazel who didn't even have any idea was suddenly getting it all on a plater.
Hazel wasn't finding her silence funny so she held her by the neck, slowly raising her from the floor as she looked at her.
“Where is he”?
She asked again and Rave pointed into the house as Hazel's dug her finger into her skin.
“In… he's inside”.
She said and Hazel looked into the house before dropping her and rushing into the house.
“Hazel wait”!
Kael called but she was gone.
Kael, Miguel and Zariel tried to break through the barrier, but it was just impossible.
Rave used the opportunity to run away, leaving to plan better.
As soon as Hazel got in, she began to access every spot of the house, trying to find her son.
“Lucian”!
She called out loudly, hoping he would hear her and luckily, he did.
Hazel paused as soon as she heard someone hitting something.
She stayed as quiet as she could possibly be and soon, she realized he was knocking from under her.
She followed his tiny sounds and soon, she found the opening to the basement.
“Lucian”?
She called.
“Mommy”?
He called and rushed towards her but he didn't even reach her before he yelled even more.
“Mommy, behind you”!!
He yelled but before she could react, she felt a sharp hit on her back and just when she turned, she fell to the floor and passed out.
Lucian ran to her, his eyes filled with tears as his innocent mind felt she was dead.
“Mommy, please wake up”.
He cried but the dagger that was stabbed into her back was laced with very black magic, one that was impossible to escape.
Hazel heard Lucian yell for her and her eyes opened as she gasped and sat up immediately.
“She looked around but she could immediately tell she wasn't fully awake. She was still stuck in her subconscious but she wasn't sure where she was.
The entire room was white, filled with red flowers on the floor.
It looked like a field of roses but the roses weren't planted, they were just on the floor.
She gently stood up but she immediately felt the pain on her back as she stood up.
The pain made her rethink if this was actually reality because the pain was intense and crazy.
“You foolish child”.
She heard a voice speak. One that didn't seem familiar at all.
She turned around, looking all over the place until her eyes landed on a mirror.
She could tell that the person she was seeing in the mirror wasn't her.
“Who are you”?
She asked but her reflection didn't look pleased at her at all.
“As much as I hate to admit it, I am you”.
The reflection said and Hazel raised a brow.
“So why do you look so angry”?
“Because you are action irrationally”.
Hazel rolled her eyes as soon as she heard that. She had heard it one too many times that she didn't even want to entertain it anymore.
“I don't know who you are, but I need to get back to my son”.
She said and turned around but as soon as she did, the mirror was in front of her.
“I told you already, I am you”.
The reflection repeated again.
“If you are me, you will be trying to go back to Lucian instead of wasting my time”.
She said, looking like she was getting irritated.
“You think I'm the one keeping us here”?
Her reflection asked and scoffed.
“You're wrong. It's not me who is keeping us here… it's you”.
She said and looked at Hazel very seriously.
“If you don't get full control over the orb, and use it instead of letting it use you, you will not be able to leave this place, and we will not be able to save Lucian".
After Hazel hears what her reflection said, she calmed down a bit.
“How exactly am I supposed to do that”?
She asked and her reflection sighed.
“The exact way you were able to activate and get control over all of your powers.
It is your heart Hazel. You can't let it have control over you. If you do, then you will not be able to protect the ones you care about.
Instead, you will be the one to cause them even more pain”.
Hazel looked like she was deep in thoughts.
It was at that moment that she began to think about Zariel and Kael's words.
The fact that so many people were saying it only meant that she needed to fix it.
“But… how are you me? I don't have multiple personalities”.
Hazel said, and her reflection rolled her eyes.
“Seeing as you still don't know who I am, you are actually pretty slow”.
Her reflection said but she gave no reaction.
“It's me, Dove"!
She said and Hazel's eyes opened wide.
“Huh"?
She exclaimed in shock.
“Well, not just me, it's all of your powers combined. Your wolf side, witch side, and siren side”.
She said and Hazel nodded, surprised.
“I mean… if you knew this, why didn't you speak up sooner? I didn't know you as one to stay silent”.
She said but Dove scoffed.
“I can't believe you”.
Hazel looked at her a big confused.
“Have you heard me speak since you activated the orb”?
She asked and Hazel though about it for a minute before she shook her head.
“That's because your heart shut me up.
The only reason why I can speak to you right now is because you are unconscious”.
