Chapter 78 A dangerous plan
Kael couldn't contain himself. To Hazel, she hadn't been gone for up to twenty four hours but on the land, it was already the fourth day and Kael was already losing his mind.
He was there almost every time of the day except at night when he had to be with Lucian.
Last night
“Kael, it's the third day, maybe you should begin to prepare yourself for the worse”.
Kael's eyes shot hard at Miguel the moment he heard his words.
“Don't you dare… speak about Hazel not coming back”.
He said, his alpha wolf voice coming out in a rage.
“Come on Kael, you know I don't mean it in a bad way. If anything, I would be more than happy for Hazel to come back alive.
Only she can end the war, only she can save us, and she is also very special to me as well… she is my friend and I don't want anything bad happening to her. But it has been three days Kael, even Dona has not been able to come out of her room because she can't see or feel Hazel's presence anymore.
It will only make things worse for all of us if we don't make an alternative plan in case…”
“Enough”!!
Kael roared. He was never going to accept that Hazel was gone, not without seeing her body at the very least.
“That is enough Miguel, stop saying things that makes me want to strangle you".
He said and Miguel raised his hand in surrender.
“So you're going to go and wait for her again tomorrow”?
He asked but Kael didn't answer, he just sighed heavily, looking away.
“You have no idea how desperately I've been waiting for you”.
He said but she smiled ignorant of how long she had actually been away.
“You make it sound like I've been gone for so long. I haven't even been gone up to twenty four hours".
She said and his brows instinctively rose.
“What are you talking about? This is the fourth day since you jumped in”.
He said and she opened her eyes a bit in shock.
She was still looking at him in shock when they both heard Zariel struggle out of the window.
“Ugh, that was such a long way back up”.
He said, causing them to turn back to look at him.
Kael looked at her and she knew he was asking with his eyes.
“Yes, it is Zariel".
Kael looked back at him but to Hazel's surprise, Kael walked towards him and held the man who was still trying to catch his breath by the chest.
“You were a man”?
Hazel smiled as soon as she heard that.
Of course, it would only make sense that he was mad the person who had been inside his wife all along was a man.
Zariel didn't look scared or surprised by his actions. Instead, he just gently pulled his hand off his collar.
“Calm down, I didn't look at your wife's body”.
He said but that only seemed to piss Kael off even more.
“Calm down, he's out now, and I have my body back”.
She said and Kael looked at her with a smile.
“You're right”.
Hazel then looked at him seriously.
“But… I don't understand what you mean by fourth day.
You're saying we've been gone for that long”?
She asked but it was Zariel who answered.
“Of course, getting to the heart of the damned ocean alone took us almost a whole day.
Fighting and retrieving my body as well as all the conversations with Alora took us over a day.
And coming back up must have taken a very long time as well”.
He explain but Hazel looked super surprised.
“How did I not know this? I didn't even know we spent up to twenty four hours there”.
She said.
“It's because you are not used to the heartbeat of the ocean.
You'll get used to it pretty soon”.
He said and began walking away.
“Quick, I need to see the witch”.
He said and soon, Kael and Hazel followed along.
Dona ran out as soon as she saw Hazel walking in through the window.
Her heart had been broken since she lost Hazel's presence but seeing her now made her so happy she couldn't contain it.
She hugged her so tightly as the tears in her eyes began to fall.
“What took you so long? I thought you were…”
She couldn't complete her statement as she choked on her own tears.
She was still hugging her when Hazel heard Lucian's voice.
“Mummy”!
He called in so much excitement as he rushed over to hug her.
“I missed you mummy”.
He said and she kissed his forehead.
“I missed you to baby, mummy missed you so much”.
She said, hugging him even more tightly.
“I know you want to have a blissful reunion but now is not the time”.
They all suddenly heard Zariel speak, causing them to turn to look at him.
“Rave is in the process of preparing something very dangerous. I don't know what it is, but I can sense just how dangerous it is.
We need to act fast before she beats us to it”.
He said and Hazel gently dropped Lucian before she looked at Zariel seriously and asked.
“What should we do”?
She asked very seriously and he smiled.
“What else? We prepare”.
He said and she nodded.
“You need to get control of your heart, that's the only way you can control the seal”.
He said but she raised a brow and tilted her head to the side.
Zariel knew she didn't understand what he meant so he moved closer to explain.
“The orb everyone is desperate to find… is your heart. You don't have a regular heart. Your heart is pure gold… glowing gold”.
He said and even though she was very silent, he knew she was thinking deeply about it.
“You already know your the golden orb, this should not be a surprise to you”.
