Chapter 74 Shift
“My name is Alora, queen of the deep ocean and ruler of the entire East Oceans”.
She said and Hazel nodded with her mouth parted slightly.
“Good, since you call the shots around here, I'd like to speak to you”.
Hazel said, moving closer but she immediately paused when she saw her shake her head.
“You're in no place to make requests for now Hazel. I respect you and give you reference, but you have only been here for a few minutes”.
Hazel didn't look like she wanted to hear any of that at all. If anything, she wanted to get it over with and leave as soon as possible.
“I don't have the time for this. If you can see the fallen inside me, then you should know I'll fade away soon if I don't get her out”.
She said but Alora seemed to be fixed on her word.
She wasn't cold or rude, but she was rigid.
“Why don't we talk over a meal”?
She asked but Hazel shook her head.
“You're not hearing me out, I have only two more days”!
Hazel flared a little, slowly losing her patience.
“And that is more than enough time”.
She said but Hazel raised her head and let out a frustrated sigh.
“Listen to her”.
She suddenly heard Zariel speak.
“These are her waters Hazel, and trust me, you don't want to get on her bad side”.
She added and Hazel sighed.
“Fine, one meal and you give me the body”.
She saw Alora nod before turning to leave and she began following her away.
They took a few steps before Alora stopped and turned to Hazel. Hazel had her brow raised, wondering why she suddenly stopped.
“Why did you stop”?
She asked. Alora look at her so intensely before moving closer.
“Shift”.
She said and Hazel raised her brow in confusion.
“What are you saying”?
Alora's eyes glowed pink with a touch of silver in it before she spoke again.
“Shift”.
Hazel looked around and she immediately knew what Alora meant.
“Ohh I see… but I can't".
She said and Alora raised a brow.
“What do you mean you can't"?
Alora asked, her voice this time was a bit sharper than it was before.
“I've never shifted into a siren before so I'm not sure I'll be able to".
She explained but all of a sudden, the sea creature who only stared at her in curiosity and fear suddenly looked like they were ready to attack her.
“You had better shifted now if you don't want to die”.
Zariel said.
“You think I don't know that? I want to change but I can't".
Hazel said for both Zariel and Alora to hear.
Alora's hold on her trident became stronger as she looked at her, her eyes still glowing and her trident also began to glow.
“You are not welcome into the water if you can't embrace who you truly are”.
She said, cold yet calm.
“Well, that's not really my fault now is it? I've never been in the water before. How can I possibly just change”?
She asked and the sea creature came even closer.
“Shift damn it”!
Zariel said but Hazel truly didn't know what to do.
Seeing the ignorance on her face, one of the sea creatures that looked like a horse charged at her but she jumped up, dodging the attack by a second.
But as soon as she jumped up, her eyes glowed golden sharply before she closed them.
The moment she opened her eyes, she saw them all looking at her. But their expression had once again shifted back to curiosity and respect.
Alora looked at her with a smile before she spoke.
“I knew you could do it”.
Hazel raised a brow before looking at herself.
Her eyes opened wide.
She looked majestic, her scales shimmering like diamonds. Her tail was golden and her hair fell down majestically.
She still looked like herself on the face but her face had a few scales on them.
Her nails elongated but the didn't look like claws, they looked like extremely long nails.
“Now, shall we go have that meal”?
Alora asked and Hazel smiled lightly as she figured they didn't actually want to hurt her, they just wanted her to embrace who she truly was in the ocean.
Finally, she followed Alora to her residence and she was once again in awe. Her place was a palace but it was definitely more different than the ones on land.
Everything in it was magically and weirdly advanced in technology. For a place everyone knew as dark, evil, and abominable, it was actually the complete opposite. It was beautiful to behold indeed.
“Please, sit".
Alora said, pointing towards a chair that was in the shape of a jellyfish.
Hazel touched it with a smile before she sat down.
“Waw, it's comfortable for the tail”.
“Your tail”.
Alora correct and Hazel immediately nodded.
“Yeah yeah, you know what I mean”.
She said before she continued looking around.
“Your place is nice”.
Alora nodded and looked around.
“It was founded by me”.
She said, surprising Hazel.
“Everything you see? I built”.
She then looked back at Hazel seriously and spoke.
“Including his grave”.
Hazel was sure she was talking about Zariel.
“Wait the being in me is… a man”?
She asked, looking like she was pissed.
“You pervert".
She called out Zariel.
“I never said I was a woman, I'm just trapped in your body that's why I have your voice”.
He explain and she scoffed.
“You have got to be kidding me”.
She said but then, she turned back to Alora and asked.
“Wait a minute… you built his grave”?
She asked and Alora stood straight with her chest slightly lifted.
“I have been waiting for the one who would bring his soul to me. I have been waiting for the one who would ease the pain I'm feeling by bringing his soul”.
She said, confusing Hazel as she wasn't sure if the siren hates Zariel or likes him.
