Chapter 28
Chapter 28
Vivianna
My emotions were all over the place. I had to get away from Merivale. Weird as it seemed, I couldn’t face Damon in my work environment. How would I act? Would everyone notice my face flaming? Even before we’d slept together I blushed whenever he was around.
How could I remain blank and unaffected around him?
The morning after, he’d been so tender. This is after hardly sleeping. My lips ached from kissing. His beautiful, fleshy, devouring mouth all over mine as he entered me and made me fly. Nerve endings sparking a blaze that smouldered one day later.
It was nice being in London with a credit card ready for some action. A novel experience for someone who rarely walked into department stores for anything other than essentials.
The only annoying part was my phone breaking down and me having to buy a new one.
We’d been shopping all day, and when Amy suggested a drink, I jumped at the opportunity to put my feet up.
As it was, she’d extracted more joy from shopping than me. I ended up with two pair of jeans, two shirts, a skirt, pumps, and heels. The heels were a spur-of-the-moment choice. As someone who generally favoured comfort, I don’t know where that came from. Perhaps those Merivale functions and seeing women draped in designer clothes and skyscraper shoes was rubbing off on me.
Amy plopped our drinks down on the table and sat across from me. “You haven’t told me what it was like,” she said, pushing the bowl of chips into the centre of the table. “And don’t fan your face again. I get it. He’s hot.”
I giggled. “I keep heating up just thinking about it.”
“I bet you do. So did you enjoy it? Having a snake slither all the way in.” A serpentine hand movement followed, which made me laugh. “Well. Did you… come?” she persisted.
I bit my lip and nodded. Despite our close friendship, discussing the sensations I’d experienced felt very personal.
But I also wanted to talk about it. My head had it on loop. Damon holding me while he thrust deeply into me and the look in his eyes when he climaxed. How he called out my name and then wouldn’t let me go all night.
“It hurt, yeah? My first time was horrible,” she said.
“It was very painful, but he was also very gentle with me, and after that he just knew how to position himself inside of me.”
“He found your G spot.” Her voice boomed from excitement. I might as well have admitted to finding a million dollars.
“See, I told you it exists,” said a woman to her boyfriend. She leaned over to us and said, “He thinks it’s a myth like the Loch Ness monster.”
I chuckled, despite my embarrassment.
Leaning into Amy, I whispered, “Stop telling everyone about my sex life.”
She laughed.
“How often did you do it?”
“I lost count to be honest.” I smiled into my drink as I took a sip.
“Holy shit. He’s either ridiculously virile or popped a little blue pill.”
“He didn’t pop anything. He hardly left my arms.”
“You’ve got him under your spell, then. Nice. So what now?” She dipped a chip into sauce before popping it in her mouth.
I puffed a breath. “Great question. I don’t know. I have to work for his mother and live there at the estate.” I played with my glass. “He made it clear he wasn’t after a relationship. But he also doesn’t want to share me. That really confused me.”
She nodded, mulling over my words. “That’s definitely a contradiction. So has he called you since?”
I shook my head. “Although my phone’s broken.”
“But you called me this morning and it worked.”
“It stopped working after then.” I sighed. “I don’t know how to face him. What to say or do.”
“Just go with the flow, babes.” She opened her hands. “Why are you worried?”
“Because I can barely string an intelligent line around him. That was before we’d gotten together. And now just talking about him revs up my heart palpitations.” I looked her in the face. “What if he just used me?”
She munched on a chip. “Did he keep kissing you?”
My lips curved slowly. “He sure did. My mouth still hurts.”
“There. That’s always a sign he’s into you.”
A couple of attractive men in their early to mid-twenties swaggered over.
Amy watched them heading our way, “Mm… they’re kinda cute. I like the dark one.”
“Oh, please, Amy. Don’t encourage them. I’m not in the mood.”
“Hey, just because you got to fuck a hot billionaire with a big dick doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun.”
“True. But what about if the other one tries to hit on me? I really don’t need this.”
“I’ll tell them you’re gay.”
Before I could respond to that ridiculous idea, the pair were standing at our booth. “How are you going? Mind if we join you?”
Talk about confident.
“Why not. Only don’t hit on her. She’s into girls.” Amy said, making me want to scream at her for being so blunt.
The man with red hair settled next me. “Hi. I’m Jamie. We share that in common.” He spoke with a strong Irish accent.
It wasn’t the first time I’d been described as gay. I’d used that as an excuse to stop men hitting on me at pubs. It didn’t always work. They were often intrigued and would ask questions like: What did it feel like to be fucked by rubber instead of a hot-blooded dick?
Jamie was attractive and funny in that amiable Irish manner, making it seem like we’d known each other for ages.
Had I not been so crazy about my boss, I might have even enjoyed flirting.
Flirting me? Since when?
“So did you hear the one about the Irish, Italian, and French man who walked into a bar one day?”
I rolled my eyes. “No. You’re going to tell me though, aren’t you?”
He started to tell his joke when my attention went to the door and in strode Damon.
I kicked Amy, who’d given her undivided attention to Jamie and his long-winded joke, which was amusing due to how his face animated.
I cocked my head towards Declan, who was heading for our table, and she finally cottoned on just as Jamie finished the punchline and Jeremy his buddy chuckled along, only they’d lost us.
Both Amy and I were more interested in the man who’d stolen my heart and mind.
I could barely speak, just an embarrassing “Uh” tumbled out of my lips, like I was staring at an alien.
“You’re here,” he said at last.
I nodded slowly.
“Oh my god. You’re Damon Manson. You’re a fucking legend in my house,” Jamie said.
I turned towards the Irishman with shock all over my face. “You know each other?”
Jamie shook his head. “No. But my father’s in the army. We saw the story on the television. How you saved a school from being bombed. You’re a fucking hero.”
He sprung up and shook Damon’s hand. “A selfie for my dad?” he asked, acting all cute, and Damon, who was just as speechless as me, nodded hesitantly.
Amy jumped up. “Here, I’ll take it.”
What the fuck?
Damon stood next to his new fan and smiled. Dressed in black jeans, a pale-blue fitted shirt, and a honey-coloured blazer, he belonged more on the cover of Man Beautiful than in an Irish pub filled with ordinary people like me.
It dawned on me. What would he do with someone like me? I was more that pub than posh.
After Jamie stopped gushing, Damon turned to me. “I was just walking past when I noticed you.”
I remained flummoxed. All that stuff about him being a hero and the fuss had left me speechless.
Come on speak. Remember A, B, C?
At this point, I wanted everyone gone. Instead, Damon’s ridiculously deep blue eyes impaled me, because it seemed as though he was fucking me. Or was that just a memory of the morning when he looked at me that same way while his dick burned into me?
Time stood still. And what’s worse, everyone seemed to be staring at us.
“I went shopping. Um… this is Amy, a good friend of mine.”
Amy lifted her hand. “Hey there. Lovely to meet you.”
“This is Damon, my boss.” I felt obligated to introduce him to the men at our table. “Of course you know because you’ve seen him on television…” I babbled away.
Put me out of my misery now.
“I best leave you to it, then,” Damon said, his eyes moving from me to Jamie.
He thinks I’m with Jamie. Fuck.
