Chapter 84 No Turning Back Now...

“And now?” I turned to look at Andrea, a puzzled expression crossing my face.

“Now we’re leaving this fucking city,” Andrea muttered, and a laugh escaped me as I turned to look out the window.

“There’s something I need to talk to you about… or rather, someone else…” Andrea’s voice softened now, cautious even as he approached the subject.

I already had an idea where this was going.

He glanced at me briefly before returning his eyes to the road.

“I know I’m not a perfect man. You didn’t have to choose to spend the rest of your life with me, but you did, bella. You ignored all my flaws and baggage and ran to me anyway.”

My chest tightened at his words.

“I don’t know what I’d do without you, but I hope you’ll accept Liam the way you’ve welcomed me into your life. I’m not asking you to be a mother to the son of the woman who put you through hell. But he’s my son, and I love him, and I love you. My love knows no bounds because I value you both so much.”

Andrea’s grip adjusted on the steering wheel as he continued.

“He’s just an innocent child. He shouldn’t be treated differently because of the pain Lillian caused."

I felt a sharp pang in my chest at the realization that Andrea truly believed I could ever hold what Lillian did to me against his eight-year-old son‐ his child, his flesh and blood.

Lillian must've really set the bar low...

"Baby, Liam deserves all the love and support. He deserves to have a mommy and a daddy. I won’t force anything, but if he needs me, I’ll be there for him. For both of you.” I smiled softly at Andrea, who still looked lost in thought as we cruised through the outskirts of the city.

“I don’t deserve you,” he muttered quietly, almost to himself.

I reached over and placed my hand over the one resting on his thigh. Andrea immediately intertwined our fingers before bringing my hand to his lips, pressing a lingering kiss against my knuckles.

“Mi dispiace, amore mio. Ti prego, perdonami. I have put you through so much.”

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my emotions as we pulled into a hotel entrance glowing beneath golden lights.

“So, what’s your big plan?” I asked, attempting to lighten the mood. With my pregnancy hormones, I could start tearing up any minute.
Why is he being so nice?

“The plan was to steal the bride, then get on a plane. Unfortunately, my flight crew is behind schedule, which leaves us with this five-star hotel for the night.”

“Okay.”

“Valentino will be going by your house to collect the important things you’ll need. Passports, bank cards, phones, laptops, everything.”

I nodded slowly, my stomach tightening at the reality of it all.

I couldn’t even imagine the tension I’d left behind. By now everyone had probably realized I was gone... and exactly who I had gone with.

“Let’s go.”

We pulled up by the valet, and Andrea immediately stepped out before coming around to my side. He opened the door carefully, helping me gather the heavy material of my dress before guiding me out with one hand firmly around my waist.

We got settled in sooner rather than later.

While Andrea remained occupied with work calls near the floor-to-ceiling windows, I stayed curled up in the massive hotel bed, completely swallowed by soft blankets in the most luxurious suite I had ever seen.

The room was absurdly beautiful.

Warm lighting reflected against marble floors, expensive decor lined every wall, and the city skyline stretched endlessly beyond the glass windows. Everything about it screamed wealth, power, luxury and Andrea fit into it perfectly.

Soon enough, Valentino arrived with my things‐ along with Liam.

It wasn’t awkward. We had met multiple times before. Maybe under strange circumstances, but never awkward enough to make either of us uncomfortable.

Liam mostly kept to himself, speaking only when he needed something. The kid carried himself like he was twelve instead of eight, quiet and observant in a way that reminded me far too much of Andrea.

Liam sat beside us at the dining table, not like he’d be anywhere else. His presence felt strangely natural, as if the three of us had done this before.

He held both a knife and fork properly while eating steak, mashed potatoes, and greens‐ the typical rich-kid dinner.

I couldn’t help but wonder if this was how Lucianna behaved whenever she went out to eat with her family. She was the daughter of a billionaire after all.

“You promised me pizza if I finished most of this,” Liam reminded his dad seriously.

Andrea barely looked up from his glass.

“And you’re negotiating already. Smart.”

“I’m just reminding you.”

A laugh escaped me quietly.

The entire interaction was unexpectedly cute, and before I could stop myself, I started wondering what Andrea would be like with our child.

The thought alone softened something inside me.
We were eating outside on the balcony of our suite, the evening sky slowly darkening as city lights replaced the sunset. The atmosphere felt calm, almost unreal after everything that had happened earlier.

I leaned slightly against the balcony railing, enjoying the cool breeze against my skin.
Then suddenly I felt strong arms wrap around me from behind.

Before I could react, I felt Jaxon’s engagement ring slowly slip from my finger.

My breath caught.

Andrea replaced it with another ring. Bigger. Brighter. The diamond caught the city lights instantly, sparkling so intensely it almost hurt to look at.

It looked expensive enough to buy a country.
A diamond that looked like it was worth everything I had‐ including my life.

“I’m not so sure this is how it’s done,” I murmured softly, staring at it.

Andrea’s chest vibrated lightly behind me at my words.

“I could do so much better,” he admitted quietly.

“But having you vulnerable like this, and so overwhelmed from everything that’s happened today... a big proposal would be too much for you to handle, monella.” He pressed a kiss against my temple, and I sighed softly, allowing myself to lean back into him.

“You know me so well,” I muttered. Andrea’s arms tightened around my waist.

“Better than anyone.”
