Chapter 242 - His Mate or His Girlfriend

Melanie looked at Brad accusingly.

They were about to get caught and it was all his fault!

Brad winced under her glare. He hadn't meant for things to take a turn the way they had. This was supposed to have been an innocent date but damn Melanie was his mate and he couldn't help it when his feral instincts took over. She'd looked so hot and there had been something highly arousing about getting to fuck her in their old high school. Unforunately, now it seemed that the janitor who he’d hired to clean up the gym after their date night seemed to have noticed that they were somewhere they both were definitely not supposed to be.

“Just a minute!” Brad called out, reaching for his clothes quickly.

“I need…” Melanie gestured to her thighs, panicking over being caught in such a compromising situation.

Brad’s wolf was purring in satisfaction as he looked at the sticky residue on her thighs, evidence that he’d just come inside of her.

However, he also realized dejectedly that she needed to clean up.

“All that magic and you can’t perform a cleaning spell?” Brad asked, handing her a box of sanitary wipes he was thankful were on the teachers' desk.

Melanie rolled her eyes. Trust Brad to say something like that. The doorknob rattled again.

"This isn't Harry Potter," Melanie hissed, cleaning herself up. "I can't scourgify your cum away."

Brad couldn't help but smirk at that comment. The pounding against the door became incessant.

“I said one minute!” Brad growled, buttoning and zipping his pants.

He was annoyed. Why did that old fart have to ruin their fun?

They both made quick work of getting back into their clothes. Only problem was that Melanie needed help with the zip on her dress. She turned to her mate, exposing her bare back to him. Brad stepped forward and placed a soft kiss on the back of her neck as he zipped up her dress.

“Can you fix the table?” Brad asked, motioning to the desk where one cheap plastic leg was drunkenly hanging at an awkward angle while the desk lay on it’s side on the floor.

“I’m not a carpenter,” Melanie stated emphatically. How was she supposed to explain to him that magic didn't work like that? And she shouldn't be using her magic for stuff like that anyway! There was a balance she needed to maintain.

It’s plastic, not wood!” Brad argued, motioning wildly to the desk.

Melanie raised her nose snootily into the air. Her magic wasn’t for juvenile issues like this. Besides, she controlled elemants. She controlled molecules and she channeled energy from the Earth. Fixing this would require more energy and time. Brad would just have to cough up money for a new desk. Served him right for getting her in trouble like this. Brad could practically see the wheels in Melanie's head turning and felt her reaching a decision that most likely required him to meet with their principal and apologize. That wasn't going to be fun at all.

“What’s the principal going to think if someone tells him we broke a desk?” Brad reasoned. "He knows you were here with me."

Melanie looked at the desk uneasily, realizing Brad was right. And just when Brad thought victory was in his grasp and Melanie might try to fix the broken table, the classroom door was unlocked. The janitor came in holding his set of master keys.

Melanie was thankful they’d had time to become decent again.

“The agreement was no damage to school property,” the janitor said gruffly, looking at the broken table.

He eyed Melanie and Brad with disdain, upset that something like this had happened under his watch.

“He did it!” Melanie exclaimed, pointing to Brad.

She quickly exited the classroom, leaving Brad to deal with the disgruntled janitor.

“Traitor,” Brad muttered, trying to placate the janitor and promising to pay for damages.

Ofcourse, now he'd have to go and apologize formally to the principal as well. Great.

“Look!” Melanie exclaimed happily, pointing at the ultrasound screen.

Brad stood next to her, a grin on his face.

“It’s a boy!” she giggled as the evidence of their son’s gender stared back at them.

“Usually, it’s not until the end of the fourth month that we can clearly discern the gender, but with this one, it’s fairly obvious,” the ultrasound technician chuckled as her wand probed around to get a different angle.

“He takes after his dad,” Brad couldn’t help but say cheekily.

Melanie giggled again and Brad thought it was the most wonderful sound. Once Melanie’s check up was finished, they both portalled to her Coven Headquarters where a meeting was scheduled for the next hour.

“So,” Brad began carefully as they lounged in her room.

She was sitting on his lap snuggling against him as he leaned against the headboard of her bed.

“When do you think you’re going to move in with me?” Brad asked carefully.

Melanie stiffened.

“Not yet,” Melanie whispered. “I want to Brad…more than anything. Every fiber of my being calls out to you when we're apart...but not yet…”

“Then when?” Brad asked, his hand went up and down her back soothingly. “Do you need another month?”

“I need more than a month,” Melanie said wearily. Brad's hand stilled at the small of her back.

Melanie leaned her cheek against Brad's chest, sending his displeasure over this comment. The last thing she wanted was to upset him. However, they were no closer to tracking down Sybl. To make matters worse, three Earth witches they had contacted had said they didn’t want any part of North American politics. They’d deal with the threat if it became their problem. Things weren’t looking good. It seemed like no one was willing to help fight Sybl. She was their problem until she posed an immediate threat to the other Covens.

Not to mention that Sybl had killed 3 more girls for her sacrificial spell. If it got out that Brad was her mate, he would be in so much danger. Sybl was gaining traction and power. It would be easy for her to hurt Brad or....Melanie stiffened as she thought back to her dream in which Ricky had been killed.

“You promised that we’d move in together before the baby was born,” Brad growled out.

“Not at the risk of your life!” Melanie exclaimed, pulling back to stare at him.

She was angry now and so was Brad. But a discreet knock told her it was time for the meeting. Without another word, Melanie went into her bathroom to freshen up. She grabbed her long dark green robes that were the customary attire for the Head of Coven and let Brad settle the garb over her shoulders. Satisfied that her bump was hidden under the voluminous robe, Melanie walked out of her room.

Sarea was there to accompany her.

“He’ll follow later,” Melanie mumbled to Sarea, referring to Brad.

She'd used her light refraction technique to make him invisible for a few minutes. No one would see him walk out of her room and he'd simply go into one of the receiving rooms that would be empty around that time. Once he was visible again, he'd walk out and make his way to the conference room.

It wouldn’t do for him to enter the conference room at the same time as her. It also wouldn't do for him to be seen within the vicinity of the Coven Head's living quarters. Especially since the building was teaming with people today.

Squaring her shoulders, Melanie prepared herself for a long tiring meeting as she entered the conference room.
