Chapter 111 Side Story 18

Chapter 111 Side Story 18
Jessica.

After dinner, we bid Martha goodnight and make our way upstairs. The soft carpet cushions my feet as I climb the stairs, my mind already drifting towards the comfort of our bed. As we enter our bedroom, I let out a sigh of relief. The familiar surroundings offer a sense of solace, a sanctuary from the chaos of the outside world.

Devon collapses onto the bed, his body sinking into the plush mattress. I join him, curling up beside him, seeking the warmth of his embrace. We lie there in silence, the weight of the day's journey finally catching up to us. I can feel the heaviness in my eyelids, the exhaustion pulling me into its embrace.

Morning arrives, and I wake up to the gentle rays of sunlight streaming through the curtains. I stretch my limbs, feeling the tension from yesterday's travel slowly dissipate. As I sit up, I notice Devon is already out from the bed and I hear the sound of water rushing in the bathroom.

I slip out of the bed, going up to the kitchen to prepare a quick breakfast and a cup of coffee for him. Devon joins me afterwards, planting a quick kiss on my cheeks as he grabs his cup of coffee.

"Good morning, love." He greets, his eyes shining behind his glasses. I return his smile, grabbing my cup of coffee and walking to the dining table where a delightful breakfast of waffles and syrup awaits us.

"Good morning to you as well." I reply as I take my seat. Devon sits beside me, immediately digging into his meal.

"Hmm, delicious. As always, home cooked meals will always be top tier." He mumbles as he chews. I chuckle, taking a bite from mine. Just then, my phone chimes, distracting me. Furrowing my brows, I pick it up and check the message that has entered.

I can't believe what I see. There it is—a response from the university. My heart races as I click on the message, and my eyes scan the words. It's a letter of acceptance, an offer of admission into the program I've dreamed of.

"What is it?" Devon asks when he sees the shock on my face.

"I've been accepted. I've just gotten my acceptance letter. I can't believe this!" I gasp, covering my mouth in shock.

"Oh my God. That's amazing!" Devon says as he stands to his feet, coming to meet me. Tears of joy fill my eyes, and I rush to Devon, unable to contain my excitement. He sweeps me into his arms, spinning me around in a joyful dance.

"I'm so happy for you." Devon says as he cups my face and I reach out to kiss him.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" I say, hugging him one more time. "I can't believe this."

"We should totally celebrate this." He says afterwards and I glance at him, cleaning off the stray tear that has run down my cheeks.

"Really?" I ask and he nods.

"You know what, that's going to be a surprise. After work. I'll take you out and we'll have a swell time." He says, winking at me. I chuckle, shaking my head at his ridiculousness.

"Okay, you do you." I tell him and smiles, pressing a kiss to my lips once more. He soon leaves for work and still excited, I reach out to my sisters, sharing the news with them. Their cheers of celebration echo through the phone, and I am overwhelmed by their love and support.

"I'm so happy for you!" Emma screams, visibly excited and I grin.

"Thank you." I whisper, sniffing back tears.

"I'm happy for you too. So glad to see you finally living for yourself." Sophie tells me as well. Her voice is much more somber, but is filled with genuine happiness.

"Thank you so much, Sophie." I say. We talk for a few more moments before I end the call, feeling elated.

That evening, while waiting for Devon to come back from work, I hear a knock on the door. My heart skips a beat, and I rush to open it, my breath catching in my throat.

To my surprise, a deliveryman stands before me, holding a beautifully wrapped parcel. His eyes meet mine, and he smiles warmly. "This is for you, ma'am," he says, his voice filled with a touch of mystery.

I take the parcel from him, my hands trembling with excitement. As I carefully unwrap it, my heart races with anticipation. Inside, I find a stunning dress, its fabric shimmering under the soft glow of the room. A note accompanies it, and I quickly unfold it, my eyes scanning the words.

"Wear this dress and come to me for a surprise date," the note reads. "I'll be waiting for you."

A surge of excitement courses through my veins as I read those words. Is this the surprise Devon was talking about? I can't believe what I'm reading. Grinning excitedly, I rush to my room to get changed.

Without hesitation, I slip into the dress, its fabric hugging my curves perfectly. I take one last look in the mirror, a smile spreading across my face. Today is going to be a day to remember, a day filled with surprises and unforgettable moments.

I call for the driver, my voice filled with excitement. "Take me to the surprise venue," I say, my words laced with anticipation. As I step into the car, I can't help but wonder what awaits me at the end of this journey.

The car glides through the city streets, the anticipation building with every passing moment. My heart beats faster, my palms growing clammy with excitement. I can't wait to see what Devon has planned for me, what surprise awaits me on this extraordinary day.

Finally, the car comes to a stop, and I step out onto the pavement. I look around, my eyes widening in awe. Before me lies a magnificent yacht, its sleek white exterior glistening under the golden rays of the sun. I can't believe my eyes. Is this where the surprise awaits me?

As I approach the yacht, a group of people stands at the entrance, their faces filled with excitement. They turn towards me, their eyes widening in surprise. And to my astonishment, I see not only Devon but also my sisters among them.

"Surprise!!! Congratulations!!!" They scream in unison and I just stand there, completely in awe.

What the hell?
