Stacy — My vengeful fiancé (3)

Stacy — My vengeful fiancé (3)
Hours later, I was sitting at a vanity table in the bridal suite of the church we chose for our wedding, filled with regret. I should have let last night play out like a normal bachelorette party like a sane person. My friends were amazing and the night was a blast, but I was so damn hyper aware of Scott's absence since I found out about the baby. I just wanted him close all the time. His presence made me feel safe and calm. Prolonged periods apart put me in a bad mood. Five fucking hours was way beyond my limit. I was paying the price for all my trickery instead of just talking to him like I should have a week ago. He had me sweating.

I'll tell you exactly how you're getting punished. Remember what I promised you in Fiji? I'm a man of my word, Stace.

Just so you know though, I will fuck you in a church. I promise.

When I fuck you in a church, and I will, it'll knock your socks off.

Round and round the words went in my head as the women around me helped me into my wedding dress.

It wasn't just the words at play. Like he always did, Scott won the bet about Jeff and the kids. Who knew Jeff had such a way with children?

His promise in Fiji. The bet last week. Was there ever really any avoiding this?

"The pearls, Willow. Where are they?" Lisa's voice hit my ears, pulling me out of my spiral.

"I thought you had them," said Willow.

"Come and help me check the car," Lisa said, frantic about the missing pearls.

I reacted instantly, grabbing Willow's hand.

When your bridesmaids start disappearing, one by one, that's how you'll know I'm coming for you, Stace.

"You okay? You look a little pale," said Willow, peering at me with concern in her face.

I was being silly. He couldn't have predicted this would happen.

"Fine. Hurry back so you can help me with the veil," I said, giving her a quick smile.

"You just need some booze to relax. Warm your cold feet. Mimosa?" Tessa offered.

I took the glass from Tessa. I knew better than to refuse the glass while Lisa was still in the room. Since the engagement, she asked if I was pregnant constantly and I wasn't telling anyone until I told Scott.

"Who said anything about cold feet? What are you talking about? Isn't a missing veil bad enough?" a panicked Kenny entered the room, coming to stand behind me.

"You have nothing to worry about, Ken. My feet are exactly the right temperature," I told him with a calm smile.

"You look beautiful, Stace. He won't be able to stop looking. Not that he ever really does," he said, taking my hands and planting a kiss on my cheek as he smiled at me dotingly.

"Thanks Ken. How is he?" I asked, my focus once more on Scott's stupid promise.

"He's the most excited groom I've ever seen," said Kenny, unable to meet my eye anymore.

Shit. Kenny was Team Scott. Until a moment ago, I wasn't fazed by the missing veil. Now it was fucking with my head.

"Is my veil really missing, Ken?" I asked sternly, giving him a glare.

"Sorry, Stace. I'm the best man and Scott's mad at me. So from now on, I just do what I'm told," he said sheepishly, before turning to Marlene. "Babe, let's go and track down a veil."

"Bet," said Marlene, offering Kenny a high five.

Eager to be in his wife's good graces again, Kenny slapped her hand readily.

"Marlene, don't go. I don't need a veil," I squeaked out desperately.

"Don't be silly. Of course you do. We'll be right back," said Marlene as Kenny hastily led her away, shooting me a guilty look.

At least I still had Tessa and Tony. It was fine. Totally fine.

"Hey there. You look stunning," said Jenny, entering the room.

I wanted her to be a bridesmaid, but she and Scott both agreed it wasn't a good idea. With the baby on the way, I knew now that they were right.

"Thank you for coming," I said, tearing up as she came towards me and took my hands.

"I'm so glad I got to see you in your dress. You look like a princess," Jenny said, wrapping her arms around me. "I'm not supposed to linger, so let me just slip this on your wrist and then we'll be on our way," she said, wrapping a diamond bracelet around my wrist and fastening it before she stepped back.

"What do you mean you're not supposed to linger? It's my wedding day," I said, getting emotional as I eyed the bracelet she had given me.

"Relax, I'm here aren't I? I'm just not supposed to stay in this room. I'm actually just here to get rid of them," said Jenny frankly.

"Oh okay. Wait, what? No. Not you too," I said, appalled at Scott roping my sister into this.

"I think it's very romantic," said Jenny, winking at me. "I'm all over it."

"What the fuck are you talking about? It's not romantic. He just wants to get even," I yelled, unable to contain my incredulity at Jenny being willing to whore her sister out like this.

Jenny wasn't listening to me though. She was already telling Tessa and Tony some bullshit about complications with the flowers.

When your bridesmaids start disappearing, one by one, that's how you'll know I'm coming for you, Stace.

What the fuck was wrong with him? How was he doing this?

"Be right back. Flower emergency. Drink the damn booze and stop worrying," said Tony, touching the glass in my hand.

What I wouldn't do to be able to do just that, Tony.

"Please, don't go," I pleaded helplessly.

"Bitch, calm down. You look like you're about to faint. We'll handle everything. Just relax," said Tessa.

"You don't understand. There is no fucking emergency," I snapped, but Jenny already had Tony and Tessa out the door.

"Have fun," Jenny said, smirking at me knowingly before she walked out the door too.

My cheeks burned as I stood in the bridal suite all alone, nervous like a virgin bride awaiting her first fuck. I was going to fucking kill Scott when he got here.

I'll tell you exactly how you're getting punished. Remember what I promised you in Fiji? I'm a man of my word, Stace.

Just so you know though, I will fuck you in a church. I promise.

When I fuck you in a church, and I will, it'll knock your socks off.

Round and round the words went in my head again until I was pacing up and down the suite, more nervous than ever before about getting caught. Yes, getting caught, not the actual sex. That was already a done deal. I never went back on a bet. I wasn't about to start now.

"So fucking beautiful," said Scott, standing in the doorway.

He entered the room, closed the door behind him and locked it.
