Steven gulped as Ronald stared at him seriously. They sat on the couches opposite each other.

Yuki had to go because he had a class, so he was left with Ronald whom he knew had a lot of questions for him.

"Ronald…"

"What was that?" Ronald asked with a still serious expression on his face.

Steven took a deep breath. "I know what you're thinking. And you're not mistaken,” he said with all honesty. "Yuki and I are in a relationship,” he confesses.

Ronald's eyes widened and so was his mouth. Shock could be written all over Ronald's face.

Of course, who wouldn't be? He just saw his straight male friend kissing another guy.

Steven sighed first before he started to tell Ronald everything that happened between him and Yuki.

Even when he's already done telling everything to Ronald, the shock remains on his friend's face.

Ronald put his palm on his own face then leaned back against the couch on which he was sitting.

"Ronald—"

"Hang on, dude. Let me first process what I saw earlier and everything that you've said.

He understood what Ronald wanted him to do so he kept silent.

Steven rubbed his two palms. He was nervous about Ronald's possible reaction. But in case Ronald gets frantic or despises him, he will understand.

Ronald sat up and removed his palms that were covering his face, then he took a very deep breath before looking at him, Ronald's eyes meeting his, "I still don't understand why you agreed. I mean, you're straight, right? You could have said no,” Ronald said with his brows furrowed.

"How could I say no to a kid? If you only saw his face at that time, he looked so awful and he's near to crying! And I also felt guilty. I mean, we did it over and over again, so I think it's just right for me to be held responsible for everything that happened, right?" Steven calmly explained.

Ronald's eyes widened even more. "Do you hear yourself, Steven? Responsibility? What is he, a woman you got pregnant with?" Ronald yelled.

Steven gave him a deadly stare and Ronald instantly raised both of his hands as if he's giving up. "I don't mean anything nasty there. It's just that…" Ronald took a deep breath. "I just really can't believe it. I can't even believe your reason for agreeing to this setup!"

Steven did not say anything. He just kept quiet. Also, he did not know what else to say to Ronald.

"Then what will happen when your one-month agreement is over? Will you two break up and act as if nothing happened between the two of you?" Ronald asked again.

Steven was a little surprised at Ronald's question.

What will happen when their agreement is over? That question never crossed his mind.

"I don't know,” Steven frankly answered.

"How do you not know? Wait, be honest with me," Ronald then intently looked into his eyes, "do you feel anything towards that boy?"

Ronald's question surprised Steven again. "W-what kind of question is that?"

"Just answer my question, Steven."

Steven gulped. For no apparent reason, he could not answer Ronald's very simple question. It's just a yes and a no, yet he couldn't answer. Or more like, he does not know what to tell Ronald.

How does he feel about Yuki?

Ronald sighed. "Looks like I already know the answer,” he suddenly said, "Huh?" Steven asked in wonderment.

Ronald just smirked then he shook his head.

"I already told you last night. Ever since you started dating, which happens to be that kid, you have changed a lot. You often smile especially when he calls you or whenever you receive a message from him. And whenever he tells you to pick him up or ask you to come home, you instantly obey. And based on what I saw earlier, you are very gentle towards him. Now, if you tell me that you have no feelings for that kid, then I don't know what to call it anymore." Steven turned silent again because of what Ronald said. "Just a piece of advice, Steven. If you already have feelings for that kid, just say it right away. Make this relationship real and not just a simple agreement. But if there isn't, which I highly doubt, and you think that there is no chance that you'll fall in love with him, then I think you should stop all of this. Let him go while it's still early so that he won't have any expectations from you anymore,” Ronald said.

Steven can feel the seriousness yet at the same time, gentleness in his voice that made him incapable of saying anything.

"That's…"

"What?" Ronald asked with a frown, waiting for what Steven would say next but Steven just shook his head.

"I have another question," Ronald said after a couple of seconds that silence has enveloped them.

Steven's forehead furrowed. "What?"

The truth is, Steven is afraid that Ronald might ask him more questions that will leave his thoughts in turmoil even more.

"Did he even tell you that he loves you?" Again, Steven turned speechless. "I guess not," Ronald said, answering his own question. "Anyway, I have to leave now or else I'll be late for work. Will you come to work today?"

"I will," Steven answered shortly.

"Then I'll just wait for you so we can go together."

Steven just nodded in response before he entered his room and went inside the bathroom. And even while he's bathing, Ronald's questions never leave his mind. All of the questions that Ronald threw at him kept on replaying inside his mind and no matter what he did, he still had no answer for Ronald's questions. It was already past eleven o'clock in the evening when Steven arrived at his apartment's building. He staggered as he walked down the hallway towards his unit.

After work, he decided to drink a little, hoping that he could somehow forget the questions that Ronald asked him earlier which really has never left his mind.
