Chapter 39 It's Hard to Move On
"I heard Rossie intends to wipe out the Jones group in Aether City. Is he serious about this?" Pierre asked, sipping his wine.
Dominic smiled, "They deserve it. This isn't about Rossie's personal issues, but they have been harming our company for almost ten years. And…”
"And they involved Ken Rouland?" Pierre exhaled deeply and said again, "I didn't expect someone I trusted to do that." Pierre quickly interrupted his son.
"So, in your opinion, what Rossie did was right?"
"Hmm, but the three of you still have to protect him. I'm sure the Jones group won't just stand by and do nothing.
Especially since they also have the support of the Johansen Group! "Pierre warned.
" Don't worry, Dad. We won't let anyone who messes with Rossie live in peace. They can choose between waiting to die in bankruptcy, spending the rest of their lives in prison, or getting the death penalty." Dominic smiled slightly after saying that.
“Ha ha ha.” Pierre laughed at his words. With the strength of his three sons, they could easily teach a lesson to anyone who hurt his youngest daughter.
While they were talking, Dominic's cell phone suddenly vibrated, and he saw Bryce Johansen's name on the screen. The well-built man snorted in annoyance and answered the call lazily.
"What do you need, Mr. Johansen?" Dominic asked formally.
"Where is Rossie? Tell her to come home and meet me!" Bryce asked, making Dominic frown.
Dominic laughed loudly. "Who are you to think you can order my sister to come see you! If you're drunk and need a woman, call your fiancée! "
" Oh, Mr. Dominic Cavendish, fine, I'll tell you. Please tell Rossie not to use the Cavendish power to destroy other people. If he's really mad at me, then he should confront me, not the Jones group! Tell him that his dirty tricks won't work on Johansen!"
Dominic wanted to laugh when he heard that. 'How could Rossie not need to use the power of Cavendish when he himself is a Cavendish?
"Oh, so you want to plead for your future wife and her family? My advice is, if you want to do that, then be nice and stop blaming others. Take a look in the mirror!"
Bryce clenched his fists, at a loss for words this time. His public-speaking skills disappeared when he faced the CEO of the Nexus group.
"By the way, since you called, I need to tell you something. Whoever hurt Rossie will get a painful response from me!"
After saying that, Dominic ended the call and leaned back, snorting in annoyance.
Meanwhile, Bryce sat in his office, staring at his phone. The veins on his forehead stood out, expressing his deep anger.
"Mr. Bryce!" Steven rushed into the office. When he saw his boss's angry expression, he gasped.
"What?" Bryce hissed.
"I have conducted an investigation as you ordered. It was indeed Mr. Dominic who carried out the sabotage, and he worked with Mr. Marcus to do it. "
Bryce slammed his fist on his desk and remembered Dominic's threat earlier." Damn it! So they were serious about their threats. Who is Rose Winter to make the two Cavendish young masters do something this crazy?"
Meanwhile, Rossie, who had just come out of her room and changed her clothes, went down to the first floor. She saw her secretary, Daren, still there.
"Are you still here, Daren?"
"You haven't ordered me to go home, so I'm still here, waiting for your orders!"
Rossie just smiled, "Oh, you don't need to be like this. Your work hours are over, and you can rest at home. I'll call you if there's anything that needs to be prepared for tomorrow.
As much as possible, Rossie didn't bring work home, as it only reminded her of Bryce. Her ex-husband always locked himself in his study and didn't touch her after coming home from work.
"Miss Rossie? Is there nothing else I can do?" asked Daren, interrupting her reverie.
"Huh?" Rossie came back to her senses, but her face was red.
"Miss, your face is red," said Darren.
Rossie immediately patted her cheeks and felt as hot as a cake fresh out of the oven.
"Maybe it's because I drank a little."
Earlier, Rossie had been soaking in a bubble bath while drinking Romani Conti. However, the real reason her cheeks were red was that she was remembering her past with Bryce. No matter how upset she was, it wasn't easy to erase the love she had grown over more than ten years.
"Miss Rossie, are you feeling unwell? Do you need me to call Mr. Ethan to check on you?" Darren asked, still watching Rossie.
'How much did Miss Rossie drink?' he thought, shaking his head.
Without saying a word, Rossie slammed her cast against the edge of the table, and it shattered instantly. "Huh! This is so heavy and uncomfortable, I finally managed to break it and free myself from this suffering."
Darren was shocked. Behind her slim body, Rossie had extraordinary strength.
Rossie laughed as if she knew what Darren was thinking. "It's nothing. I once followed Dominic in a social service. I saw people who had lost their legs, others with wounds that had become infected due to diabetes, and various other diseases."
Rossie told Darren about her past experiences. Without realizing it, she also talked about how she had helped Bryce at that time while sipping her wine.
Suddenly, Rossie's cell phone rang, and it was from her family chat group.
Dominic: Marcus, I'm busy, so I haven't had time to understand how someone in the judicial department like you can be so indifferent to everything. Did you know Bryce asked someone to hack our family's confidential data? Fortunately, Rossie was able to act quickly and improve security.
Rossie frowned, wondering what her three older brothers wanted to talk about.
Marcus: "Damn it! What is he looking for?
Dominic:" Hey, don't curse at me! Did I do this?
Marcus: "Damn it!"
Dominic: You want to fight with me? Don't you remember that you've never won a fight with me?
