Chapter 24 Miss Cavendish

Chapter 24 Miss Cavendish
The next day. Bryce was dressed neatly. He looked more reliable and elegant in his suit. This time, he had to show his best side to visit the Nexus Group and resolve the issue.

He took a deep breath and tried to relax upon arriving at the Nexus Group lobby. A few months ago, he had visited this place and found it unappealing. The atmosphere was dull, and the layout was uninspiring. Fortunately, the Cavendish family was prominent, so no one dared to complain.
However, now the place looked completely new. It truly exuded luxury. The new general manager made remarkable changes.

"Hmm, it seems that the youngest daughter of the Cavendish family has a very big influence, even bigger than her three older brothers," Bryce thought to himself as he observed his surroundings.

This made Bryce think that he should not underestimate her. He walked to the reception desk and asked the receptionist to inform Miss Roseanne of his arrival.

"Hello, please tell Miss Roseanne Cavendish that Bryce Johansen, President of the Johansen Group, is here to see her," said Steven politely, glancing briefly at Bryce.

The receptionist smiled warmly and said to Steven, "I'm sorry, did you have an appointment? Because we haven't received any information about your arrival."

Steven and Bryce's eyes widened. "Don't you know that he is the President of the Johansen Group? Should he make an appointment to meet with Miss Cavendish?"

The receptionist replied, "Of course, that is the policy."

Steven looked unhappy and thought the receptionist was being too arrogant. "You!" His face reddened with anger.

Bryce suddenly stepped forward and said, "All right then. I'll make an appointment now. When can I meet her? "

" Ms. Cavendish is very busy. I can't give you an exact date. Why don't you try coming tomorrow or contacting this email address to make an appointment. "The receptionist took out a business card and gave Steven Darren Wayne's card to Roseanne's secretary.

" You really..." Steven couldn't hold back any longer, seeing his boss being ignored like that.

"Enough, Steven! We are guests here, and we should follow the rules!" said Bryce, pulling Steven away.

It was inappropriate for them to make a scene in the Nexus Group lobby. The two of them returned to the car. Steven bit his lip and clenched his fists tightly.

"This is completely ridiculous. Just because the Cavendish family is upper class, they can treat us however they want. I wonder how great Miss Cavendish really is!" Steven exclaimed grumpily.

"Never mind, we'll come back tomorrow!" Bryce frowned and leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes.

"Didn't you hear what the receptionist said? I'm sure we won't be able to meet her tomorrow either. It seems like she's deliberately avoiding you," repeated Steven.

"In that case, we can come back the day after tomorrow. I still have to meet her, no matter what!" said Bryce, loosening his tie because he felt suffocated.

"The Jones Group can't wait any longer. They might declare bankruptcy if we delay meeting with Miss Cavendish."
'Hmm, it seems Mrs. Miranda is right. Maybe Miss Cavendish likes Mr. Bryce, but unfortunately, the boss prefers Miss Lily Jones.'

The next day, Bryce returned to the Nexus group. He arrived early, even before seven o'clock. As Steven had predicted, they didn't manage to meet Roseanne.

The same thing happened again the day after tomorrow. As one of the ten most desirable young men and one of the top 50 newcomers in the business world, Bryce could not be underestimated. He had even received an invitation from the Governor and was treated with respect.

However, Roseanne was utterly unaffected by Bryce's achievements. She remained haughty and indifferent towards him.

"Damn!" thought Bryce, then left the lobby after waiting for more than two hours and receiving news that Miss Cavendish would not be coming to the office that day.

Fifteen minutes after Bryce left, Rossie arrived at the office. She walked confidently, wearing a white Dior dress and a blazer paired with rose earrings that matched her necklace. Her appearance was worthy of attention.

"Oh my god! Miss Rossie looks so elegant. Even I, a woman, admire her appearance."

"Yes, it's not an exaggeration to call her an angel."

Rossie walked towards her office while glancing at them and smiling warmly. She seemed satisfied with the employees' current behaviour.

After the incident involving Rouland, the entire hotel staff showed her their utmost respect. No employee dared to slack off. They were all focused on improvement and perfection.

It took Rossie less than two weeks to turn the gloomy atmosphere into a productive one. She prioritized resolving internal issues before addressing external chaos. This approach would allow them to compete effectively with others and move forward.

"The Johansen Group transferred a large sum of money to the Jones Group. Because they cheated the Nexus Group, they lost almost all of their sales. The money will help them survive for a while," Dominic reported over the phone.

"I knew Bryce would never let his lover be neglected. He loves Lily very much. Even though he was betrayed, he was always there for her. I think he couldn't wait for the day when his sincere feelings were betrayed," Rossie snorted as she took off her high heels to massage her sore feet.

"But money can't fix a bad reputation. Giving money to the Jones family is just a financial waste. It won't change anything," Dominic replied.

"Bryce is also a business genius like you. He might come to the same conclusion. It's just that money is the only way for him to control the situation right now," Rossie replied.

Dominic laughed and added, "Sometimes, I keep thinking that everything would be better if the feelings were mutual. Then, you could monopolize the whole city. The two of you could turn the whole city upside down in an instant."

"Unfortunately, we're not destined for that. We can't live in the same place," Rossie said, staring straight ahead.
