Laurel
I grunted when something heavy landed on me, and I instantly wrapped myself around it. It had been a long night of lovemaking with Mason, and I was nowhere ready to get up. He could try to seduce me into getting up, but he wasn’t going to get far without the use of his arm. A high-pitched squeal had me immediately letting my hostage go. I sat up a little so I would be able to look down at the culprit of the fit of giggles, and was surprised to see Tyson on my lap. Now, I was doubly glad that I had put some of Mason’s clothes on the night before in an effort to deter his randiness. Ty’s face broke out into a huge smile before he quickly shifted position to wrap his arms around my neck.
“Auntie Mama! You’re here!” he exclaimed happily.
Mason chuckled beside us as his arm moved under the blanket to wrap around my waist. “Yes, she is! Are you happy that she’s home?”
“Yes! I’ve missed you, Auntie Mama! Mama’s been really sad without you,” he told me as he squeezed my neck.
“I’ve missed Mommy too, little buddy. Is your mommy here?” I asked him as I hugged him tightly.
“Yes. She’s in the kitchen looking for Fruity Pebbles. She told me to come wake Uncle Mason up,” Ty answered.
“Okay. I’ll tell you what, why don’t you go back out to Mommy, but keep it a secret that I’m here. I want to surprise Mommy okay?”
He nodded while he giggled excitedly. “Okay, Auntie Mama. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
He bounded out of the room as Mason pulled me back down onto the bed to wrap his arms around me. “Good morning, Auntie Mama.”
“Good morning, Uncle Mason. How did you sleep during the thirty minutes you weren’t trying to ravish me?” I teased.
He chuckled before pressing his lips against mine. “I can’t believe you’re complaining. I thought my lovemaking was superb.”
“Possibly. I wouldn’t tell you if it was. Gotta keep you humble somehow since the rest of you is amazing,” I laughed.
“Do it again,” he almost begged.
“Do what again?”
“Laugh. I’ve missed your laugh so much,” he murmured.
I ran my fingers through his hair. “You have the rest of your life to hear me laugh, but right now, I hear a naughty little boy trying to talk his mother into making cinnamon rolls for breakfast.”
“So? I’m not hearing the problem with that.”
“She can’t cook and I like cinnamon rolls,” I laughed, making him groan.
“Well fuck, now I have an erection,” he mumbled before kissing me again. “Why do you have to be so sexy?”
“Pfft. You only think so because I put a spell on you,” I giggled as I ran my fingers through his hair again, which made him groan again.
“Okay, here’s what we’re going to do. You are going to go save breakfast, and I’m going to relieve myself in the bathroom to the memory of your laughter. I can’t go out there and hang out with Ty with an erection, and you’re too sore to help me with it. Then we will figure out a game plan for the day. How does that sound?’
I nodded. “Sounds good. Don’t take too long. I’ve already been without you for too long.”
“I won’t. Five minutes top. I promise.”
After another lingering kiss, I got up, made sure that I was presentable for a young child to see, and walked out of the room. When I made it to the kitchen, I stood in the doorway, watching the way Lauren and Tyson carefully put the cinnamon rolls on the cookie sheet before putting it into the oven. She clapped her hands together as she smiled at him.
“How about we get the orange juice ready? You know it’s Uncle Mason’s favorite,” Lauren told Ty.
I watched as they moved to the cabinet with the cups to get out three cups, two glass ones and a plastic one. As Lauren was closing the door, Ty started pulling on her shirt.
“We need four,” he told her.
“Four? But there are only three people. Wait! Does Uncle Mason have a friend over?” she asked him.
“No. She’s not his friend,” Ty answered.
Sadness crossed over Lauren’s face as she whispered, “Oh, Laurel!”
“Mommy, why are you sad?” Ty inquired curiously.
“Oh, it’s nothing, baby. I just thought that Uncle Mason and Aunt Laurel would be together. She loves him so much,” Lauren replied before getting another glass out of the cabinet as I walked across the kitchen to hug her, making her jump.
“He loves me just as much as I love him,” I told her softly.
She spun around with tears in her eyes. “Laurel?”
“Hey, sis.”
She hugged me so tight, I could barely breathe. “When did you get here?”
“Last night!”
“That’s why you asked about my party! Girl, you could have just said you were coming home. I wouldn’t have brought Ty over for his weekend visit,” she said, her voice exploding with happiness.
“I wanted Mason to know first,” I responded before taking a step back.
“Are you going to stay? I don’t think Mason could take you leaving again,” she confided, her voice wavering with emotions.
“And you? What about you? Would you be able to take it?” I asked, sensing that she was more worried about herself being able to deal with my potential disappearance than Mason.
“Honestly, no. You have no idea how worried I’ve been about you. I–”
I glanced at Ty as I shook my head. “We’ll talk later, Lauren, okay?”
She swallowed hard as she nodded. “Okay. Want to help us get breakfast ready?”
I nodded. “I’d like that. So, Ty, what do you and Uncle Mason usually do when you come over to visit?”
“We go up onto the roof and play ball. Last weekend we had to get a new one because a bird popped ours with its beak,” he giggled. “Uncle Mason and I spent a long time trying to catch it so we could help it get the ball out of his mouth. The bird tried to eat it! Can you believe that?”
I gave him a soft smile as I shook my head. “Nope! Did Mommy help you and Uncle Mason with the bird?”
“No! She stayed on her chair, reading her book. Mommy said the bird was gross and she wouldn’t touch it.”
I burst out laughing as I nodded my head. “Now that I believe!”
“Thanks, Laurel,” Lauren grumbled.
An arm wrapped around my waist before Mason kissed my cheek. “Good morning, Ty, Lauren. How are you doing this morning?”
“We’re good, Uncle Mason. I’m really hungry though. Can we have a snack before breakfast?” Ty asked him, making all of us laugh a little.
Mason let me go to scoop Ty up and carry him over to the walk-in pantry. “Let’s see what we can find you to snack on. I think I got some cereal bars on Tuesday that I haven’t tried yet. Do you want to taste test with me?”
“YEEEESSS!”
“Alright, we gotta find them. They’re in a purple box.”
“Right there, Uncle Mason! There’s a purple box right there!”
“Got it!”
When they stepped out of the pantry, I had to fight the urge to laugh at how ridiculous Ty looked with a box under his shirt. Mason gave me and Lauren a dazzling smile as he held up two lone cereal bars.
“We’re only going to eat one each,” he announced, winking at us.
“Mhmm. You better! You know how I feel about you ruining your breakfast,” Lauren chastised them lightly.
“We do, Mommy.”
“Okay, go on. Enjoy your cereal bar.”
As the boys ran from the kitchen, laughing, Lauren shook her head. “Those two really are the same person in different bodies.”
“It seems like it. I’m glad Ty has Mason, Lauren. I really am. I’ve never seen that boy’s face so relaxed as it was just now.”
“Mason’s a great guy, Laurel, which is why you shouldn’t leave him anymore,” she told me.
“Is that the only reason why I shouldn’t leave him again?” I asked her.
She was quiet for a long time before shaking her head. “No. You shouldn’t leave him again because I know both of you love each other. Look, sis, I am sorry for how I’ve been treating you. It was wrong of me. I shouldn’t have taken my frustration out on you. It’s not your fault that you two gave me something that broke several times throughout the last few months.”
I gave her a shocked look. “We broke something we gave you? What did we break?”
“My hope, Laurel. I know both of you, and I really thought that when you two hit it off so strongly that first night that you were going to make it no matter what tried to get in your way. Every time you left, it destroyed my hope that true love still existed. If you and Mason couldn’t make it, then I really didn’t stand a chance. To me, you and Mason were the couple that were going to beat the odds. You were getting to live a dream that I didn’t even have the courage to tell myself that I wanted.”
“Oh, Lauren,” I whispered as I wrapped my arms around her. “You’re going to find your soulmate, just like I did, and I promise to harass you just like you harassed me about Mason.”
She giggled as she squeezed me. “You’re too nice to call me out on my shit.”
I laughed. “Maybe, but who knows. Maybe when you find him, he’ll soften your edges.”
She groaned as she shook her head. “The only thing I need him to be able to soften is the inside of my pussy…”
